2 Willkommen zum Forschungsbericht 2012 Welcome to our Research Report 2012 Unser Fachgebiet kann auf eine lange Tradition von Kooperationen mit Unternehmen, Forschungseinrichtungen und anderen Organisationen zurückschauen. So haben wir bereits mit über 50 international tätigen Unternehmen, internationalen Universitäten und diversen Standardisierungsgremien erfolgreich zusammengearbeitet. Dabei bieten wir unterschiedliche Kooperationskonzepte. Eine Vielzahl von Forschungsprojekten konnte in den vielen Jahren unseres Bestehens branchen übergreifend erfolgreich abgeschlossen werden. Neben der Ausbildung zukünftiger Führungspersönlichkeiten dominiert die Kooperation mit Unter nehmen im Rahmen der Drittmittelforschung unsere Arbeit. Synergie und Konstanz beschreiben am treffendsten unsere Philosophie. Unser Potenzial ist die Kombination aus hoch motivierten und hervorragend ausgebildeten Studierenden, ambitionierten Wissenschaftlern und langjährigen Kontakten in die Wirtschaft. Die formal einfachste Form der Zusammenarbeit ist die Betreuung von Bachelor-, Studien-, Diplom- und Masterarbeiten. Zusätzlich erfolgt die Vermittlung geeigneter Absolventen an unsere Partner. Des Weiteren betreut das Fachgebiet kleine Projekte mit Laufzeiten von wenigen Monaten unter Einbeziehung von bis zu 10 Studierenden und einem wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiter. In öffentlich finanzierten Projekten befasst sich das Fachgebiet insbesondere mit der Grundlagenforschung wohingegen sich die industriell finanzierten Projekte mit der industriellen Anwendungsforschung befassen. In beiden Bereichen bieten wir unsere inhaltlichen Kompetenzen entsprechend der Forschungsschwerpunkte IKM, BPM und SOA an. Darüber hinaus profitieren Sie von unseren umfassenden Erfahrungen der formalen Anbahnung und organisatorischen Abwicklung. Our chair can look back on a long tradition of cooperation with corporate enterprises, research institutes, and other organizations. During the last years, we have worked with over 50 international corporations, international universities, and have been an active part in various standardization committees. We offer a multitude of cooperation opportunities. A wide variety of projects could successfully be realized in widespread areas of industry. Next to the edu cation of future top leaders in the corporate world, research collaboration with companies or with public funding bodies are the main focus of our work. Synergy and constancy would most appropriately describe our philosophy. Our potential lies in our highly motivated students, outstanding and ambitious scientists combined with industrial contacts. Over the years, our industrial partnerships have been a supportive and integral part of our work. The simplest form of cooperation is the join addition to teaching and guiding the future generation. The majority of our work is in cooperation with industry partners. Research projects consist of publicly funded projects and industrially financed third party applied research. In both types of projects, we offer a high standard of competence and commanding authority in research according to the research main areas IKM and BPM as well as SOA. In addition, each project is approached with our comprehensive experiences, formal preparation and well planned project management for successful completion of the project. Die wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiterinnen Olga Levina und Annette Bobrik haben in diesem Jahr erfolgreich ihre Dissertationen verteidigt. The research assistents Olga Levina and Annette Bobrik have sucessfully defended their dissertations in Der Lehrstuhl ist in diesem Jahr von der Franklinstraße in das Elektrotechnik Gebäude (EN) am Einsteinufer gezogen. The chair moved from Franklinstr. into the Electrical Engineering Building (EN), located at the Einsteinufer. Die EU geförderten Projekte Blog Forever und CyberEmotions haben das zweite bzw. dritte Review erfolgreich ab geschlossen und befinden sich nun in den letzen Projektjahren. 4 Forschungsgruppen Research Groups FORSCHUNGSBEREICH IKM: INFORMATION + KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT, E-LEARNING & NETZWERKANALYSE Der Forschungsbereich IKM erforscht innovative Softwareanwendungen, Vorgehensmodelle und Geschäfts prozesse im Umfeld des Wissensmanagements und der Netzwerkanalyse. Diese Kompetenzen werden in zahlreichen Unternehmens projekten, wie z.b. mit Siemens, Volkswagen oder Kühne+Nagel zur Entwicklung von Instrumenten, Methoden und Technolo gien eingesetzt. Der Bereich wurde am Fachgebiet gegründet und ist heute eine internationale Forschungskooperation mit dem Lehrstuhl für IT Management an der Copenhagen Business School in Dänemark. Wir sind in den Bereichen Wissens netzwerke elektronischer Kommunikation, Wissensmanagement, Performanzmessung von Wissensarbeit, Identifikation von Expertise, E-Learning, Content Transformation sowie Topic Mining und Clusteranalyse aktiv. Das Know-how der Wissensarbeiter und deren Einbindung in Expertennetzwerken stellen in wissensintensiven Geschäftsfeldern die wesentlichen Erfolgs faktoren der Unternehmen dar. Mit Hilfe verschiedener Perspek tiven wollen wir neue Erkenntnisse über aktuelle soziologische und technische Entwicklungen im Social Web 2.0 gewinnen, um Methoden zur Unter stützung dieser Geschäftsfelder abzuleiten und zu etablieren. Unser aktueller Fokus liegt u.a. in der Analyse von Expertise-Profilen zur Unterstützung von Teamarbeit und Wissens management im Unternehmen. Innerhalb des EU-Projektes Collective Emotions in Cyberspace spielt die Untersuchung von Ausbreitungsprozessen von Informationen, Meinungen, Empfindungen oder Emotionen in sozialen Netzwerken im Internet eine wichtige Rolle. Darüber hinaus arbeitet der Forschungsbereich IKM innerhalb des EU Förderprojektes BlogForever in Zusammenarbeit mit dem CERN und zehn weiteren Partnern an Methoden und Werk zeugen zur Archivierung und Erhaltung von nutzergenerierten Internetinhalten. Ansprechpartner: Dr. Matthias Trier IKM RESEARCH GROUP: INFORMATION + KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT, E-LEARNING & NETWORK ANALYSIS Research in IKM investigates innovative software applications, procedural models, and business processes in the field of knowledge management and network analysis. This knowledge is applied in numerous enterprise projects, e.g. with Siemens, Volkswagen or Kuehne+Nagel, for the development of knowledge management instruments, methods, and technologies. Founded at the Chair of Systems Analysis and IT at TU Berlin, Germany, the IKM Research group is now an international research cooperation with the Chair for IT Management at Copenhagen Business School in Denmark. We are active in the fields of knowledge networks of electronic communication, knowledge management projects, measurement of knowledge work performance, expertise identification, e-learning, content transformation, topic mining and clustering. With these topics we want to create insights about current sociological and technical events in the social web2.0 internet in order to derive and establish methods for knowledge-intensive business domains, where employee performance and the social networks among experts are a primary factor of competitiveness. Our special focus is, amongst others, on the analysis of expertise profiles to support team work and corporate knowledge management as well as studying dissemination processes of information, opinions, sentiments or emotions in social networks in the Internet as part of the EU-funded project Collective Emotions in Cyberspace.In addition, the IKM research group works, as part of the likewise EUfunded project BlogForever together with the CERN and ten other Partners, on approaches and tools to archive and preserve user-generated Internet content. 5 FORSCHUNGSBEREICH SOA: SERVICE ORIENTIERTE ARCHITEKTUREN & BUSINESS PROCESS MANAGEMENT Die Schwerpunkte des Forschungsbereichs SOA umfassen: Vorgehensmodelle zur Einführung einer SOA, Methoden zum Entwurf von Softwarearchitekturen, Management und Governance von SOA, Geschäftsregeln und ereignis gesteuerte Architekturen, Quantitative Analyse von Geschäftsprozessen, Bewertung der Qualität von Geschäftsprozessen, Sicherheit und Risikoanalyse im Cloud Computing. Die Forschungsgruppe besteht aus Mitarbeitern des Fachgebiets: Olga Levina, Christo Slawtschew und Yuyu Chou (Stipendiatin im Bereich Cloud Computing), aber auch aus externen Mitgliedern der Industrie: Oliver Holschke, Jannis Rake- Revelant (Deutsche Telekom Laboratories), Nico Haarländer (Vattenfall Europe), Philipp Offermann und Marten Schönherr (Deutsche Telekom Laboratories). In diesem Jahr wurde von Olga Levina die Untersuchung zum Thema Netzwerkbasierte ereignis orientierte Analyse von Geschäfts prozessen abgeschlossen und im Rahmen ihrer Dissertation veröffentlicht. Christo Slawtschew wandte sich der Thematik zur Bewertung der Prozess qualität in kollaborativen Geschäfts prozessen mit Schwerpunkt Informations qualität zu. Sichere Systementwicklung von integrierten Cloud- Architekturen bildete den Schwerpunkt der Forschung von Yuyu Chou. Die SOA-Forschungs gruppe arbeitet mit mehreren Forschungspartnern zusammen. Darunter finden sich Universitäten und Forschungs einrichtungen wie die Humboldt Universität zu Berlin sowie Industrie partner wie die Deutsche Telekom, Deutsche Telekom Laboratories, DHL Europe und Vattenfall Europe. Dieses Jahr wurden von den Mitgliedern der Forschungsgruppe Vorträge u. A. auf internationalen Konferenzen wie EDOC, HICSS, AMCIS, BUSTECH sowie HAB Forschungsseminar zu den Schwerpunktthemen der Forschungsgruppe gehalten. Olga Levina successfully finished her dissertation project on Network-based event-oriented business process analysis this year. Christo Slawtschew focuses his research activities on the topic of process quality assessment in collaborative processes, especially on the aspect of information quality. Secure System Develop ment for Integrated Cloud Applications is currently in the research focus of Yuyu Chou. SOA Research Centre collaborates with several research institutions such as the Chair of Aeronautics of the Berlin Institute of Technology and the Humboldt University of Berlin. Some of the industry partners include: Deutsche Telekom, Deutsche Telekom Laboratories, DHL Europe as well as Vattenfall Europe. 6 EU-geförderte Projekte EU funded Projects EU PROJEKT CYBEREMOTIONS: KOLLEKTIVE AUSBREITUNGS- MUSTER VON INFORMATIONEN UND MEINUNGEN IM INTERNET Im Rahmen des 7. Europäischen Forschungsrahmenprogramms forscht das Fach gebiet System analyse und EDV im Bereich der Kommunikation im Web 2.0. Schwerpunkte der Forschung stellen Ausbreitungsmuster von Meinungen und Informationen in sozialen Netzwerken dar. Insgesamt sind 9 Forschungs- und Industriepartner aus ganz Europa an dem Projekt beteiligt. Der Startschuss für das Projekt erfolgte im Februar 2009 und hat eine Laufzeit von 4 Jahren. Die Arbeit erfolgte in einem interdisziplinären Team bestehend aus Soziologen, Physikern, Computerwissenschaftlern und Linguisten. Das Projekt zielt darauf ab, Konzepte und Erkenntnisse aus den beteiligten Fachrichtungen zu kombinieren. Es geht um die Fragestellung, wie sich Informationen und Meinungen in sozialen Netzwerken ausbreiten und welche rückgekoppelten Änderungen sich für das Netzwerk und dessen Struktur ergeben. Welche Faktoren begünstigen oder behindern den Aufbau von so genannten e-communities und wie wird der Informations austausch beeinflusst? Lassen sich bestimmte Muster im Informationsund Meinungsaustausch identifizieren und operationalisieren? EU PROJECT CYBEREMOTIONS: COLLECTIVE DISSEMINATION PATTERNS OF INFORMATIONS AND OPINIONS IN THE INTERNET As part of the 7th European Framework Program, the Chair of Systems Analysis and IT conducts research in the field of communication in the Web 2.0. Focus of the research are dissemination patterns of opinions and information in social networks. A total of 9 research and industry partners from across Europe participate in the project. The project started in February 2009 in Warsaw and has a duration of 4 years. The work is carried out by an interdisciplinary team consisting of sociologists, physicists, computer scientists and linguists. The project aims to combine concepts and What factors promote or hinder the development of e-communities? lessons learned from the involved research fields.it concerns the question how information and opinions disseminate in social networks works and what amendments are fed back to the network and its structure. What factors promote or hinder the development of so-called e-communities and the way information is affected?can certain patterns in the information and opinion flow be identified and operationalized? INFLUENCE AND DISSEMINATION OF SENTIMENTS IN THE INTERNET The work in the fourth and last year of the project is significantly dominated by the development of an analysis toolset. This detection system can be used to automatically analyze a selection of digital social networks regarding the presence, influence and dissemination of arbitrary link attributes in online social networks. The tool incorporates a broad variety of metrics and is characterized by a high degree of flexibility in terms of supported data types, applicable analysis filters and the definition of link attribute types. 6

7 EU PROJEKT BLOGFOREVER: BEWAHRUNG UND ERKUNDUNG DER BLOGOSPHÄRE BlogForever ( ist ein kollaboratives, EU-gefördertes Forschungs projekt mit 12 Partnern aus 6 Ländern. Ziel des Projektes ist die Entwicklung einer Infrastruktur zur digitalen Langzeit-Bewahrung, Verwaltung und Verbreitung von Weblogs. Diese Infrastruktur wird die Erfassung der dynamischen und sich kontinuierlich (weiter-)entwickelnden Natur von Weblogs, deren Netzwerke und sozialer Strukturen sowie des Austausches von Konzepten und Ideen ermöglichen. Bewahrung von Weblogs & Verständnis des sich verändernden Kontextes über die Zeit Die Grundlage von BlogForever bildet die Erforschung von Weblog-Strukturen und Semantiken sowie deren gegenseitige Verknüpfungen und Beziehungen mit anderen Informationsobjekten des Webs, welche in einem generischen Weblog-Datenmodell mündet (siehe Abbildung). Dieses Modell wird zur Definition einer Strategie zur digitalen Bewahrung der Blogosphäre benutzt, welche auch Fragen der Interoperabilität und des digi talen Rechtemanagements beantwortet. Ein Weblog-Repositories wird entwickelt und anhand verschiedener Fallstudien validiert. Das Ergebnis von BlogForever ist eine einfache Lösung zur digitalen Archivierung von Weblogs, welche jede Person, Personen gruppe oder Institution nutzen kann, um Weblogs im Sinne von kultur ellen, sozialen und intellektuellen Gütern zu bewahren und ihre Authentizität, Integrität, Vollständigkeit, Benutzbarkeit sowie einen dauerhaften Zugriff sicher zustellen. Eine Vielzahl von Interessengruppen, z.b. Biblio theken, Museen, Universitäten, Forschungsinstitute und Blogger, wird davon profitieren. Projektzeitraum: März August 2013 Ansprechpartner: Paraskevi Lazaridou, Hendrik Kalb EU PROJECT BLOGFOREVER: PRESERVATION AND EXPLORA- TION OF THE BLOGOSPHERE BlogForever ( is a collaborative EU funded project with 12 partners from 6 countries. Its key objective is the development of robust digital preservation, management and dis semination facilities for weblogs. These facilities will be able to capture the dynamic and continuously evolving nature of weblogs, their network and social structure, and the exchange of concepts and ideas that they foster. BlogForever lays its foundations on exploring weblog structure and semantics, as well as their interconnections and associations with other web information entities, in order to create a generic weblog data model. This model is used to define a robust digital preservation policy for weblogs, including interoperability and digital rights management issues. A weblog digital repository is developed and validated through a set of case studies. The final output of BlogForever is a simple weblog digital archiving solution that any user, user group or institution can use to preserve their weblog(s) and ensure their authenticity, integrity, completeness, usability, and long term accessibility as a valuable cultural, social, and intellectual resource. A multitude of parties can benefit from the project, including libraries and information centres, museums, universities, research institutes, and bloggers. 8 EU-geförderte Projekte EU funded Projects EU PROJEKT ECOMMIS: E-COMMERCE CURRICULA TO SERVE INFORMATION SOCIETY Tempus ist ein Forschungsprogramm der Europäischen Kommission, das auf die Modernisierung der Hochschullehre in den Nachbarstaaten der Europäischen Union gerichtet ist. Das Programm wurde 1990 von der EG initiiert und unterstützt seit dem die Kooperation der Nachbarstaaten der EU auf dem Bereich der Lehre. Das Fachgebiet Systemanalyse und EDV zusammen mit dem Institut für Luft- und Raumfahrt der TU Berlin ist ein Kooperationspartner und Verantwortlicher für den aktademischen Inhalt in dem Projekt Tempus: Ecommis. Weitere Projektpartner sind dabei Universitäten aus der Russischen Föderation, Ukraine, Niederlanden, Israel und Litauen. Das Hauptanliegen von Ecommis (E-Commerce curricula to serve Information Society) ist die Integration des Gebiets der elektronischen Kommerz in die Lehr pläne der Universitäten aus der Russischen Föderation, Ukraine und Israel für sowohl Master- als auch Bachelorstudierende der wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Fächer und Infromatik. Die Ziele des Projektes sind dabei: die Entwicklung, Implementierung und Akkreditierung der neuen, praxis orientierten Curricula und der einzelnen Module für die Fach richtung E-Commerce im Einklang mit dem European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) in den Universitäten der Russischen Föderation, Ukraine und Israel im Laufe der zweijährigen Projektlaufzeit. Das Fachgebiet Systemanalyse und EDV ist für die Entwicklung und Integration von zwei Mastermodulen aus dem Curri culum verantwortlich. Dabei handelt es sich um Geschäftsprozessmanagement und Modellierung sowie Dokumenten- und Sicherheitsmanagement. Das Anliegen ist dabei nicht nur den Inhalt der Vorlesungen aufzuarbeiten, sondern auch das wissenschaftliche Personal der Zieluniversitäten bezüglich der Thematik und der angewandten Lehrmethoden zu schulen sowie Pilotlehrveranstaltungen vor Ort durchzuführen und auch mittelfristig als Ansprechpartner für die ausgearbeiteten Themenbereiche bei den Zieluniversitäten zu fungieren. Ansprechpartner: Dr. Olga Levina EU PROJECT ECOMMIS: E-COMMERCE CURRICULA TO SERVE INFORMATION SOCIETY Tempus: modernizing higher education in EU neighbors is an education research program by the European Commission that was established in It supports the modernization of higher education and creates an area of co-operation in countries surrounding the EU. The Chair of Systems Analysis and IT together with the Chair of Aero nautics and Astronautics is now a cooperation partner and responsible for the academic content in the Tempus: Ecommis project together with the universities from Ukraine, Russian Federation, Israel, Netherlands and Lithuania. Develop, implement and accredit new practice oriented curricula and modules for E-Commerce Ecommis (E-Commerce curricula to serve Information Society) is aimed at the integration of the topic of electronic commerce in the curricula for bachelor and master students of economics, management and computer science in universities of Russian Federation, Ukraine and Israel. The goals of the project are to develop, implement and accredit new practice oriented curricula and modules for E-Commerce as well as to implement European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) in the universities in Russian Federation, Ukraine and Israel within the two years of the project duration. The Chair of Systems Analysis and IT is now responsible for the development and integration of two master modules in this program: business process management and modeling as well as document and security management. This will include not only the provision of the teaching material, but also trainings of academic staff of target universities in new teaching methodologies used in the module as well as to perform pilot lecture and operation of provided materials at the target universities. 10 Ausgewählte Lehrveranstaltungen Lecture Introduction CURRENT TOPICS IN BUSINESS PROCESS MANAGEMENT AND ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE Das Modul Current Topics in Business Process Management and Enterprise Architecture wird von Dr. Olga Levina und Dr.-Ing. Marten Schönherr von Deutsche Telekom Laboratories durchgeführt. Es besteht zum einen aus einer integrierten Veranstaltung, in der die Grundlagen aus dem Bereich der Unternehmensarchitekturen vermittelt und den Studenten anhand von kurzen praktischen Beispielen veranschaulicht werden. Ein weiterer Bestandteil des Moduls ist ein Seminar, das sich mit den aktuellen Themen aus dem Bereich des Geschäftsprozessmanagements beschäftigt. Hier stehen sowohl die theoretischen als auch praktischen Grundlagen des Prozessmanagements im Fokus. Das Modul ist an Studenten der Informatik oder informatiknaher Studienrichtungen im Haupt- oder Masterstudium gerichtet. Das Ziel dieser Veranstaltung ist es, den Studenten die Thematik der Unternehmensarchitektur und des Geschäftsprozessmanagements näher zu bringen und ihren Einsatz in der Praxis zu verdeutlichen. So werden in dem Modul Ansätze, Methoden und Technologien behandelt, wie Unternehmen komplexe, heterogene IT-Architekturen effizient verwalten und Prozesse und IT durch entsprechende neue Technologien flexibilisieren können. Des Weiteren werden die Studierenden an Prozess- und Geschäftsregelmodellierungswerkzeuge herangeführt sowie mit Methoden und Werkzeugen zur Beschreibung der Organisation einer Unternehmensarchitektur vertraut gemacht. CURRENT TOPICS IN BUSINESS PROCESS MANAGEMENT AND ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE The course Current Topics in Business Process Management and Enterprise Architecture is held by Dr. Olga Levina and Dr.-Ing. Marten Schönherr from Deutsche Telekom Laboratories. The course is structured in two parts: an integrated lecture and a seminar. The target audiences of the lecture are postgraduate computer science students or students with similar orientation in their curricula. The goal of this course is to intro duce the students to the area of enterprise architecture and business process management and to outline their implementation in practice. Approaches and technologies for efficient management of complex and heterogeneous environments of an enterprise as well as methods to design their processes and IT in a more flexible way by using current technologies are outlined. The students have the possibility to become acquainted with the tools for business process and business rules modeling. Methods of enterprise architecture derivation and description are shown and applied in small case studies. In the seminar, theoretical and practiceoriented aspects of business process management are put in focus. Thus, the module allows an extensive overview on the management of business ITarchitecture as well as its influence on the business processes by offering required insights into the relevant approaches from research and practice. 10

11 PROJEKTMANAGEMENT FÜR WIRTSCHAFTSINFORMATIKER Die im Wintersemester 2012/13 im Rahmen des Studiengangs Wirtschaftsinformatik erstmalig angebotene Lehrveranstaltung vermittelt in erster Linie die Grundlagen des operativen Projektmanagements im Unternehmen. Darüber hinaus geht die Lehrveranstaltung insbesondere auf die Besonderheiten und Problemfelder in IT- Projekten ein. Neben dem fundierten theoretischen Fachwissen floss die über drei Jahrzehnte in erfolgreichen Projekten gesammelte, exzellente Praxiserfahrung von Prof. Dr. Krallmann auf diesem Gebiet in die Inhalte der Vorlesungen ein, deren vorgestellten Methoden in der dazugehörigen Übung angewendet wurden. In der Vorlesung werden theoretische Grundlagen des Information Security Management vorgestellt, die wesentlichen Standards auf dem Gebiet präsentiert und Konzepte zur Integration der Informationssicherheit dargelegt. Auszüge der Inhalte: Aufbau eines Information Security Management Systems Standards & Zertifizierungen:ISO27001, IT-Grundschutz, CobiT, IDW,SSE-CMM. PROJECT MANAGEMENT FOR BUSINESS INFORMATICS The lecture which was firstly offered in 2012/13 due to the bachelor degree of business informatics primarily convey fundamentals of operational project management in enterprises. Furthermore it elaborate on characteristics and problem issues of IT-Projects. Besides the well-founded theoretical basics, especially the excellent practical experience from Prof. Krallmann - acquired over three decades of successful projects - were integrated into the lecture. In the lecture, theoretic knowledge of fundamentals of information security management is presented, the main standards in this field will be shown and concepts of integration of information security will be outlined. 12 Aktuelle Forschungsvorhaben Ongoing Research PROJEKT PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT: PROJEKT PRIORISIERUNG Im Multiprojektmanagement sind verschiedene Konzepte zur Projektauswahl und -priorisierung bereits bekannt. Aufgrund von implementierten Strukturen, eingesetzten Ressourcen und vorhandenen Kenntnissen unterscheiden sich Unternehmen hinsichtlich ihrer Vorgehensweise im Multiprojektmanagement in Top Performer und Low-Performer. Innerhalb dieser Konzepte steht eine Vielzahl von Methoden zur Verfügung, welche auf die Untersuchung und Klassi fizierung unterschiedlicher Kriterien, die ein Projekt charakterisieren, abzielen. Ziel der Forschungsarbeit ist die Nutzung des analytischen Instrumentariums der ( sozialen) Netzwerkanalyse zur Unterstützung der Projektpriorisierung unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der Wechselwirkungen und Abhängigkeiten zwischen Projekte. Due to implemented structures, deployed resources and available knowledge, firms divide into top-performers and lowperformers regarding their proceedings in the field of multiproject management. These concepts provide a multitude of methods to analyze and classify characteristic project criteria. The Goal of the research is the utilization of the analytic instruments of the (social) network analysis for the support of project prioritization in consideration of interactions and dependencies between projects Contact person: Ilknur Atak BEWERTUNG DER INFORMATIONSQUALITÄT IN KOLLABORATIVEN GESCHÄFTSPROZESSEN Kollaborative Geschäftsprozesse zeichnen sich durch unternehmensübergreifende Informationsflüsse sowie dem verstärkten Auftreten organisatorischer und ITbezogener (Prozess-) Schnittstellen zum Zwecke einer überbetrieblichen Wertschöpfungsoptimierung aus. Ihr vermehrtes Auftreten ist u.a. auf den Adaptionsprozess von Unternehmen an die komplexe Unternehmensumwelt zurückzuführen. Diese Entwicklung ist allerdings mit Problemen verbunden, die sich unmittelbar auf die Prozessqualität auswirken. Die Arbeit widmet sich der Bewertung der in diesen Prozessen ein besondere Rolle spielenden Informations- und Datenqualität, mit dem Ziel sowohl ein hierfür erforderliches standardisiertes und methodisches Vorgehen sowie einheitliche Metriken zur Bewertung der Informationsqualität im Rahmen eines Qualitäts Frameworks zu entwickeln. Ansprechpartner: Christo Slawtschew INFORMATION QUALITY MEASUREMENT IN COLLABORATIVE BUSINESS PROCESSES Collaborative Business Processes stand out due to cross-company information flows as well as due to increasing occurence of organizational and IT based process interfaces for the purpose of optimizing an inter company value added. Their increasing formation results from adapting to complexity of the system environment. This progress has immediate consequences for the quality of processes. The research work attends to assess information and data quality for the purpose to develope a standardized methodology as well as consistent metrics within the scope fo a quality framework for collaborative business processes. 13 LINK ATTRIBUTE AUSBREITUNG IN SOCIALEN NETZWERKEN Die Verbreitung von digitalen Kommunikationsmedien im privaten wie geschäftlichen Umfeld kann als einer der wesentlichen Trends der letzten zehn Jahre angesehen werden. Durch die Nutzung solcher Medien entstehen, oft auch unbewusst, soziale Netzwerkstrukturen. Die Analyse solcher sozialen Netzwerke bildet den Forschungsrahmen der Arbeit. Es soll ein neuer Ansatz entwickelt werden, um Einfluss und Ausbreitung von beliebigen Link-Attributen, wie z. B. Informationen oder Meinungen in digitalen sozialen Netzwerken, untersuchen zu können. Die praktische Umsetzbarkeit dieses Ansatzes wird durch die Entwicklung eines entsprechenden Software-basierten Analyse werkzeuges sowie mehreren Fallstudien belegt. Ansprechpartner: Robert Hillmann LINK ATTRIBUTE DISSEMINATION IN ELECTRONIC SOCIAL NETWORKS The proliferation of digital communication media in private and corporate environments can be considered as one of the major trends of the last decade. By using such media, social structures emerge, often unconsciously. The analysis of such social networks forms the framework of this thesis. The goal is to develop a new approach to analyze the influence and dissemination of arbitrary link attributes, such as information or sentiments, in digital social networks. The practical feasibility of this approach is evidenced by the development of a corresponding software-based analysis tool and several case studies. Contact person: Robert Hillmann SICHERHEITSSYSTEMS ENTWICKLUNG FÜR INTEGRIERTE CLOUD-ANWENDUNGEN Unternehmen nutzen Software-as-a Service (SaaS)-Anwendungen häufig zur Ablösung oder zur Anreicherung von bestehenden Anwendungen mit zusätzlichen Funktionen. In beiden Fällen werden sowohl interne Systeme als auch die verarbeiteten Daten bei der Integration zusätzlichen Gefahren ausgesetzt. Viele Firmen bewerten Sicherheit als kritisch bei der Nutzung von Cloud-Diensten, aber nur wenige wissen, wie sie SaaS-Dienste sicher integrieren. Diese Forschungsarbeit stellt ein methodisches Vorgehen für eine Integration von SaaS-Diensten bereit, das bei der Auswahl und der Absicherung entsprechend dem Sicherheitsbedarf der jeweiligen Firma unterstützt. Neben dem auf SaaS-Dienste zugeschnittenen Sicherheitsprozess werden in einem technischen Teil die spezifischen Risiken bei der Integration von SaaS-Diensten untersucht. Die Risiken werden in dieser Arbeit vorgestellt und Gegenmaßnahmen ausgearbeitet. Zur Unterstützung des Sicherheitsprozesse werden Checklisten und Referenz-Tools bereitgestellt, die eine effiziente und effektive Ausführung ermöglichen. In Fallstudien wurde das Vorgehensmodell auf zwei Firmen angewendet und verfeinert. Ansprechpartner: Yuyu Chou SECURE SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT FOR INTEGRATED CLOUD APPLICATIONS Companies that use a Software-as-a Service (SaaS) application do so mainly to either replace an existing IT solution or as an extension function to other appli cations. However, both the data and the system may be exposed to higher threats when a SaaS application is integrated into an existing IT infrastructure. Many firms rate security as a critical issue when moving to the cloud, but only a scant few know how to secure their data. In an attempt to solve this problem, this research included both the technical view and the management view to help enterprises enhance their security capa bility when using SaaS. The risks of different SaaS applications and their proposed security enhancement controls are presented from a technical point of view. Based on the management point of view, a model is proposed that will guide a firm in the development of a secure SaaS integrated system as well as fulfill the business requirements. Checklists and reference tools are provided to enable an efficient and effective execution. To prove and enhance the utility of the proposed model, two firms are applied the model as case studies. 14 Unternehmensprojekte Corporate Projects KAIZEN UND IT KONTINU- IERLICHER VERBESSERUNGS- PROZESS IN DER IT BEI DER KÜHNE+NAGEL AG Mit über Mitarbeitern an 830 Standorten in mehr als 100 Ländern zählt die Kühne + Nagel AG (K+N) zu den global führenden Logistikdienstleistern. Schwerpunkte liegen in der See-, Luftfracht, der Kontraktlogistik und den Landverkehren mit klarer Ausrichtung auf besonders wertschöpfungsintensive Bereiche wie informatikgestützte Supply Chain Management Dienstleistungen. Erfolgreiche Organisationen wenden zunehmend Methoden wie Lean Management, Kanban oder Kaizen an, die sich als wegweisend für Unternehmen der Automobilbranche und weiterer Industriezweige erwiesen haben. Im Rahmen eines Systemanalyse Projektes hat ein Studententeam der TU Berlin untersucht, inwieweit sich der Lean Management Ansatz auf die IT bei K+N sowie auf die damit verbundenen Prozesse anwenden lässt. Am Ende wurden konkrete Lösungskonzepte für eine Implementierung eines Lean IT Ansatzes in verschiedenen Bereichen der IT erarbeitet sowie Handlungsempfehlungen für die Entwicklung eines Lean IT Mindset gegeben. Die Lösungskonzepte umfassen die Umsetzung von SCRUM, einem Ansatz der agilen Softwareentwicklung als standardisiertes Vorgehen und zur flexiblen Integration von Kundenanforderungen, die Schaffung einer zentralen Organisationseinheit für Supportanfragen und Wissensmanagement sowie Ansätze zur Schaffung von Transparenz bei Projektauswahlentscheidungen. KAIZEN AND IT CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT PROCESS IN IT AT KÜHNE + NAGEL AG With more than 47,000 employees at 830 locations in more than 100 countries, the Kuehne + Nagel AG (K+N) is one of the world s leading logistics service providers. Focus lies on sea freight, airfreight, contract logistics and overland businesses with a clear focus on high value-adding areas such as IT-supported supply chain management services. Implementing a Lean IT Management Approach for maximizing value and minimizing waste. Successful organizations increasingly apply methods such as Lean management, Kaizen or Kanban who have proved to be groundbreaking for companies in automotive companies and other industry sectors. As part of a system analysis project, a student team from the TU Berlin has examined to what extent the lean management approach can be applied to the IT at K+N and their associated processes. At the end, concrete solutions for the implementation of a Lean IT approach have been developed for various parts of the IT and recommendations for the development of a Lean IT mindset were given. The to-be concept include the implementation of SCRUM, an agile software develop ment method as a standardized approach and for the flexible integration of customer requirements, the creation of a central organization unit for support requests and knowledge management as well as approaches to create transparency in project selection decisions. 14

15 UNTERSTÜTZUNG DER LBB AG BEI DER AUSWAHL EINES TOOLS ZUR SOFTWAREGESTÜTZTEN UMSET- ZUNG VON (MULTI-)PROJEKT- MANAGEMENT UND CONTROL- LING. Ziel des Projektes zwischen der TU Berlin und der Landesbank Berlin AG war die Unterstützung der LBB AG in der Auswahl einer Software für das rechnergestützte Multiprojektmanagement und Controlling der LBB AG. Hierfür wurde das Vorgehensmodell zur Systemanalyse von Krallmann angewendet, um ein möglichst optimales Ergebnis für die LBB AG zu erarbeiten. Aus einer umfassenden Literatur- und Marktrecherche hat sich ein Pool aus ca. 200 verschiedenen Tools ergeben, welche nach den spezifischen Anforderungen der LBB AG detailliert untersucht wurden. Als Ergebnis einer für die LBB AG erstellten Nutzwertanalyse, hat sich eine Shortlist ergeben. Die Anbieterangaben bzw. Eingabewerte der einzelnen Tools der Shortlist wurden durch Online-Präsentation bzw. Anbieter- Treffen überprüft, um eine möglichst hohe Informations validität zu gewährleisten. Es wird der LBB empfohlen, insbesondere SUPPORTING THE LBB AG IN THE DECISION MAKING PRO- CESS FOR A (MULTI) PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL- LING SOFTWARE. The purpose of the project of the TU Berlin in cooperation with the financial holding Landesbank Berlin AG was to support the LBB AG in the decision making process for a multi project management and controlling software. In order to compile optimal results for the LBB AG, the project team worked based on the systems analysis model of Krallmann. Value Benefit Analysis for Multi Project Management Software Derived from an extensive literature and market research, a pool of 200 different tools was identified. All these tools were analyzed in detail based on the specific requirements of the LBB AG. As a result of a specific value benefit analysis a shortlist was identified. The data and information provided by the software providers were proof checked through online-presentations and provider-meetings in order to deliver a high data validity. It is recommended that the LBB, especially with regards to the usability aspects of each tool, invites all providers of the shortlist for a detailed presentation and test screening of each software. At this consultation, information about the individual pricing offers and free testing accounts can be obtained as well. im Hinblick auf die Usability der jeweiligen Tools, alle Anbieter der Shortlist für eine ausführliche Präsentation und Testvorführung einzuladen. Bei dieser Konsultation können Informationen bzgl. Individueller Angebot sowie kostenfreie Testzugänge der Tools für eine Testphase eingeholt werden. 15

16 Unternehmensprojekte Corporate Projects VORBEREITUNG EINER PORT- FOLIO-EVOLUTIONS-STRATEGIE FÜR WERKZEUGE IM EINSATZ BEI DHL EXPRESS EUROPE IT Die Einführung des Global Rating Engine (GRE) Programms bringt für DHL Express gewaltige Veränderungen in deren Anwendungsportfolio und gleichzeitig in den Geschäftsprozessen der DHL Express mit sich. Um das Management dieser laufenden Veränderungen zu unterstützen, initiierte DHL Express Europe und der Lehrstuhl für Systemanalyse und EDV der TU Berlin ein Systemanalyseprojekt. Das TUB-Team hat sich dafür in das DHL Business Domain Modell sowie das Global Enterprise Architecture Modell eingearbeitet. Im Rahmen des Projektes wurden vorhandene Lücken identifiziert und dokumentiert. Weiterhin wurden mögliche Auswirkungen herausgearbeitet sowie benötigte Aktionen und erforderliche Anstrengungen zum Schließen dieser Lücken geschätzt. Im Ergebnis wurden keine Lücken in der System- und Anwendungs migration gefunden, jedoch wurden verschiedene Diskrepanzen in der Dokumentation von geschäftlichen Anforderungen entdeckt. Die Erkenntnisse sind von kritischem Wert für DHL und die Ergebnisse bieten eine andere unvoreinge nommene Perspektive auf den Sachverhalt. PREPARATION OF A PORTFOLIO EVOLUTION STRATEGY FOR TOOLS IN USE AT DHL EXPRESS EUROPE IT The introduction of the Global Rating Engine program brings tremendous changes in the current application landscape and at the same time within the business processes of DHL Express. In order to manage and support those ongoing changes, DHL Express Europe and the Chair of Systems Analysis and IT of TU Berlin initiated a system analysis project. As-is-Analysis of the Global Enterprise Architecture The TUB Team was introduced to the DHL Business Domain Model and their Global Enterprise Architecture model. In the frame of the project, existing gaps have been identified and documented. Furthermore, the possible impact was carved out and required actions and necessary efforts to close these gap were estimated. In result, there were no gaps found in the system and application migration, but several documentation gaps in the business requirements were discovered. These findings are of critical value to DHL and the results offer a different unbiased perspective on the issue. 16

17 Öffentlichkeitsarbeit Public Relations LANGE NACHT DER WISSENSCHAFTEN FORSCHUNG ERLEBEN LONG NIGHT OF SCIENCE EXPERIENCE SCIENCE Das Fachgebiet Systemanalyse und EDV hat auch im Jahr 2012 verschiedene Gelegen heiten genutzt, um Themen und Ergeb nisse der Forschung in die Gesellschaft zu kommunizieren. Ziel ist es dabei, die Ak zeptanz für Forschung und Wissenschaft bei der Bevölkerung zu erhöhen und die Relevanz transparent darzustellen. Am 02. Juni 2012 fand die Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften in Berlin und Pots dam statt. Wie auch in den vergangenen Jahren war unser Fachgebiet durch den Forschungs bereich Wissensmanagement und Netzwerkanalyse mit einem eigenen Stand im Hauptgebäude vertreten. Als Themen präsentierten wir diesmal die Ana lyse und Visualisierung von Stimmungen in Online-Kommunikation und die Langzeit bewahrung der Blogosphäre. Im der Analyse und Visualisierung von Meinungen und Stimmungen in Onli ne-kommunikation lag einerseits auf der Demonstration, wie Stimmungen auto matisch klassifiziert werden kön nen, und andererseits, wie die Dynamik der Kommunikation als Netzwerk dar gestellt und ausgewertet werden kann. Die Präsentation zur Langzeitbewahrung der Blogosphäre sensibilisierte, warum und von wem Blogs archiviert werden soll ten, und welche Herausforderungen sich daraus ergeben. Die Besucher unseres Standes wurden zum Ausprobieren verschiedener EDV- Anwendungen und zu weiterführenden Diskussionen eingeladen. In 2012, the Chair of Systems Analysis and IT used several opportunities to commu nicate subjects and findings of research to the society. Aim of this communication is a better acceptance of research and science by the general public as well as depicting its relevance. On June 2, 2012 the Long Night of Science was held in Berlin and Potsdam. As in the past years, our chair was re presented through the research area of knowledge networks and network analysis with an own booth in the main building. This year, we presented the analysis and visualisation of sentiments in online com munication, and the long-term preservati on of the blogosphere. The focus of the analysis and visualisation of opinions and sentiments in online communication laid, on the one hand, on the demonstration how sentiments can be classified automatically, and, on the other hand, how the dynamic of the communication can be represented and analyzed as a network. The presentation of the long-term preservation of the blogo sphere sensitized why and who should archive blogs, and which challenges are thereby caused. The visitors of the booth were invited to test several IT applications and to join further discussions. PRESSE UND RADIO PRESS AND RADIO Das Fachgebiet war 2012 in verschie denen Pressemitteilungen und Radio beiträgen durch Interviews vertreten. So berichtete die DPA-Meldung Blogforever: Projekt gegen digitales Vergessen in allen relevanten Presseorganen über die Not wendigkeit und Herausforderungen der Blogarchivierung. Zusätzliche Interviews dazu erschienen in der tageswebschau und im Online-Bereich von ZDF heute. NDR Kultur und DRadio Wissen berichteten in Radiobeiträgen darüber. Letzterer ist dauer haft unter dem Titel Digitales Ge dächtnis: Bloggen für die Ewigkeit ver fügbar. In 2012, interviews of the chair were present in press and radio. The DPA news Blogforever: Projekt gegen digitales Ver gessen reported about the necessity and challenges of blog archiving, and was ta ken up by all relevant organs. Additional interviews were released in the tagesweb schau and the online portal of ZDF heute. NDR Kultur and DRadio Wissen sent radio features about it. Abstract: Blogging has often been described as writing an online diary but, nowadays, it is more diverse and a considerable amount of blogs forms a common interconnected resource the blogosphere with comprehensive societal impact. While various studies have inquired social-psychological influences on the intention to contribute to an individual blog, the perceptions related to creating such a common valuable good have not yet been focused. Therefore, we introduce a new construct the œuvre of blogging to better account for the notion of the blogosphere as a collective outcome. Furthermore, we propose a research model to inquire the influence of individual and collective beliefs on the œuvre in comparison to shortterm blogging activity. We conducted an online survey with 509 international distributed bloggers to test our model. Without it the system will be exposed to a high risk level of a breach in data security. Security requirements and enhancements may vary depending on the applications and the applicable security policies. To decrease the impact of a cyberattack, this paper described the risks and the specific security controls for different types of SaaS applications. In addition, this research proposed the Orange Model to enhance the security management throughout the entire SaaS integrated system development life cycle. After applying two case studies in industry, it was found that when enterprises use the proposed model when adopting a SaaS solution, they can enhance the protection level of their data. Abstract: Communication within online social network applications enables users to express and share sentiments electronically. Existing studies examined the existence or distribution of sentiments in online communication at a general level or in small-observed groups. Our paper extends this research by analyzing sentiment exchange within social networks from an ego-network perspective. We draw from research on social influence and social attachment to develop theories of node polarization, balance effects and sentiment mirroring within communication dyads. Our empirical analysis covers a multitude of social networks in which the sentiment valence of all messages was determined. Subsequently we studied ego-networks of focal actors (ego) and their immediate contacts. Results support our theories and indicate that actors develop polarized sentiments towards individual peers but keep sentiment in balance on the ego-network level. Further, pairs of nodes tend to establish similar attitudes towards each other leading to stable and polarized positive or negative relationships.
