2 Bernard CAZENEUVE, French Ministry of Interior The five-yearly Interschutz Exhibition gathers together international experts that work in rescue services, fire prevention, disaster relief, safety and security. This year is the first time that will be honoured with a one-day event on 11 June We welcome the opportunity to present and share our know-how and the innovations of our civil safety industry. French firms have responded on a massive scale with the support of the Business agency. More than 60 of them will be exhibiting at Interschutz. Thirty-three will be grouped together in the French Pavilions. All over, there are more than employees making up 400 firms in the civil safety industry. They are constantly adapting to changing risks and anticipating the appearance of new threats. These firms stay in contact with rescue and emergency services in order to benefit from their experience and learn their needs. In this way, they help to maintain a high level of safeguard for the population of. In recent months, our country has had to be resilient in the face of momentous events. Each one mobilised the rescue and emergency teams: the terrorist attacks in January, the GermanWings crash in March and also the floods last Autumn. The cutting-edge technology produced by our specialised firms is one of the factors of our effective response. This industrial sector has diversified well beyond fire fighting. It is now a model of up-to-the-minute innovation, made buoyant by the dynamism of small and medium-sized companies. Drones and command applications are displayed side-by-side with rescue vehicles. Fire-fighters protective clothing is being made with new man-made fibres that are durable, comfortable to wear and thermally protective. New types of equipment have been created to deal with chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive threats (CBRNE). For Interschutz 2015, French rescue vehicle constructors, manufacturers of protective and fire-fighting equipment, medical emergency equipment and materials suppliers and ITC companies are presenting their latest products in the fields of combating risks and responding to disasters. Civil safety services from around the world can also discover our new software solutions for command and control and the management of complex operations. We are also showcasing our high-performance robots that can be used in situations where human intervention is unsafe. The displays will include special clothing made to counter new risks, and the telecommunication and alert tools designed for our country s operating practices. Lastly, fire-fighting and civil safety experts will be present with the French businesses to present their experience as users. Four topics will be highlighted: fighting forest fires, intervention in CBRNE situations, fire prevention in buildings and the management of rescue operations. The French model of civil safety has once more proved its relevance and its effectiveness. It is renowned throughout the world, thanks to men and women that are committed to their jobs, an appropriate sharing of responsibility and a dynamic and innovative industrial sector. This exhibition gives us the chance to promote French excellence and forge new partnerships with all the parties dealing with civil safety. 2

3 Bernard CAZENEUVE, Französischer Innenminister Dieses Jahr wird unser Land erstmalig auf der Interschutzmesse, die alle fünf Jahre die Rettung, Sicherheit, Brand- und Katastrophenschutz aus aller Welt versammelt, im Rahmen des Partnerlandtages am 11. Juni 2015 besonders gewürdigt. Das bietet Gelegenheit uns und unser Know-how und die Innovationen in der Branche der Zivilen Sicherheit vorzustellen. Unsere Unternehmen sind, mit der Unterstützung von Business, mit mehr als 60 teilnehmenden Unternehmen, von denen sich 33 im französischen Pavillon vorstellen, breit vertreten. Mit mehr als 400 Unternehmen und Beschäftigten in ganz Frankreich passt sich die zivile Sicherheitsbranche an die sich ständig verändernden Risiken an und beugt der Entstehung neuer Bedrohungen vor. Im ständigen Dialog mit den Nothelfern und Rettungskräften, und der Berücksichtigung ihrer Erfahrungen und Bedürfnisse, garantiert diese Branche ein hohes Sicherheitsniveau in Frankreich. In den letzten Monaten musste unser Land angesichts von schwerwiegenden Ereignissen die Akteure der Zivilen Sicherheit mobilieren, sei es während der Attentate im Januar, aufgrund des Flugzeugunglücks Germanwings im März oder bei der Flut im letzten Herbst. Auch dank unserer Spitzentechnologien konnten wir so leistungsstark reagieren. Auch jenseites der Brandschutztechnologien ist unsere Industrie sehr viel vielseitiger geworden. Dank der Tatkraft der kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen stellt sie heute ein Modell für Innovation und Moderne dar. Drohnen und Steuersoftware stehen neben Einsatzfahrzeugen. Schutzwesten der Feuerwehrleute werden nun mit innovativen technischen Textilien hergestellt, die Widerstandsfähigkeit, Tragekomfort und Sicherheit vereinen. Neue Ausrüstung wurde geschaffen, um den Bedrohungen durch chemische, biologische, atomare und Explosiv-Waffen (CBRNE) begegnen zu können. Anlässlich der Interschutz 2015 stellen die Hersteller von Rettungsfahrzeugen, von Schutz- und Brandschutzmaterial, Lieferanten von Ausrüstung und Hilfsmittel für medizinische Notversorgung, und Unternehmen der Kommunikationstechnologie ihre neuesten Geräte, Ausrüstung und Konzepte der Risikovorsorge und des Katastrophenschutzes vor. Die zivilen Sicherheitsdienste aus der ganzen Welt können innovative Softwarelösungen für Einsatzleitungen und das Management von komplexen Aktionen kennelernen, ebenso wie unsere hochentwickelten Roboter, die dort zum Einsatz kommen können, wo die Sicherheit unser Einsatzkräfte in gefährdet wäre. Ich denke auch an neue, den neuen Risiken angepasste Schutzkleidung oder neue Telekommunikations- und Warnsysteme, die den französischen operativen Anforderungen genügen. Schließlich werden Experten des Zivilschutzes und der zivilen Sicherheit zusammen mit französischen Unternehmen ihre Erfahrungen als Nutzer vorstellen. Dabei stehen die vier Themen Waldbrände, CBRNE (Bedrohungen durch chemische, biologische, atomare und Explosiv-Waffen), Gebäudesicherheit und Leitung von Rettungsaktionen.im Zentrum der Diskussion. Die französische zivile Sicherheit hat erneut ihre Leistungsfähigkeit und Wirkungskraft unter Beweis gestellt, ein international anerkanntes Modell, das von engagierten Männern und Frauen, einer angemessenen Verteilung der Verantwortung, aber auch einer innovativen und dynamischen Industrie lebt. Auf dieser Messe können die hervorragenden französischen Leistungen gewürdigt und neue Partnerschaften mit allen Akteuren der Zivilen Sicherheit eingegangen werden. 3

In we are able to deploy 250,000 firefighters and national reinforcement within the country and abroad. Fire fighters are central to the response to emergencies, they are the first link in the rescue chain. Recognized for their expertise, and their technical equipment at the cutting edge of technology, they respond every year to 4.3 million operations including 75% of Emergency Medical Incidents. Throughout, the fire & rescue service is a great network, it demonstrates solidarity with and closeness to the population. For disasters or exceptional operations, the General Directorate for Civil Protection and Crisis Management (French Ministry of the Interior) is able to mobilize 2,500 men and women of civil protection units, special equipment, helicopters, aircraft...to reinforce local responders. ZIVILSCHUTZ Im Zentrum aller Katastrophen Als unumgängliche Organisation für Hilfe und Krisenmanagement steht der Zivilschutz in Frankreich an allen Fronten. It represents 300 companies compiled by the common will to act to promote the quality of products and services for fire protection and safety. In 2014, the FFMI adherent companies employ 25,000 employees for a turnover of 3 md. has progressively raised legal, technical and human means which have allowed a significant decrease of fire deaths and losses. It counts members (professional and volunteer firefighters, former firefighters, youth fire brigades and administrative and technical staff) within 13 regional associations, 98 district associations and local brigade firefighters associations. The federation works alongside two specific associations dedicated to the help of orphans and families of deceased firefighters (ODP Oeuvre des pupilles), and firefighters health insurance (MNSPF Mutuelle nationale des sapeurs-pompiers de ). Political and associative leadership FNSPF is also the voice of firefighters of since The association acts as a privileged negotiator with public authorities (especially, the ministry for Internal affairs) for legislative or statutory work on firefighters and civil protection organisation. Moreover, FNSPF is a founding member of CTIF, international association of fire and rescue services, created in 1900, and brings French firefighters expertise on its work. It also ensures the moral and material interests of firefighters and defends their rights towards the authorities and in justice. It helps to define and promote the image of firefighters towards the public, elected officials, institutions, associations... It also coordinates all associative actions of firefighters: social assistance, training of young firefighters, first aid teaching, sporting events.
