5 Modular system Modulares System Sistema modulare Most of the Language Centre courses follow a modular system, which is closely related to the Common European Frame of Reference for Languages (CEFR). If the prerequisites can not be attested in this way, the candidate will be invited to a placement test. Die erforderlichen Vorkenntnisse für den jeweiligen Kurs müssen durch einen bestandenen Kursabschlusstest (ECT), eine bestandene computerbasierte Prüfung der unibz (CBE) oder ein internationales Sprachzertifikat (IC) nachgewiesen werden. November 2014 bzw. am 9. Juni 2015 stattfinden wird. Ziel des Kurses ist, die KursteilnehmerInnen mit dem Prüfungsformat vertraut zu machen. 22 English for academic staff and PhD students (prerequisite B1) Part 1 Communication goals Kommunikative Ziele Obiettivi comunicativi Level B1 This course is addressed to academic staff and PhD students who want to improve their English in order to use it appropriately in an academic context. The course helps to improve both listening and reading skills focusing on authentic texts. Debating and presentation skills as well as writing of abstracts are also trained. The course English for academic staff and PhD students is offered during the first term (Part 1) and the second term (Part 2). In both course parts the skills which are trained are the same, but the topics on which exercises and tasks focus, are different. Thus, it is possible to enrol only in one course part (Part 1 or 2) or if you want to intensify the training in both parts. Please enrol in each course part separately.
