Radi automatski na principu uzgona kugli i razlike između tlaka u cjevovodu i tlaka atmosfere. Sastoji se od dvije komore I središnjeg ventila koji u pogonu cjevovoda mora biti otvoren. Lijeva komora služi za odzračivanje malih, a desna za ulaženje i izlaženje velikih količina zraka. Ugrađuje se na najvišim prijelomnim točkama cjevovoda. Die Entlüftungsventile gestatten Entlüftung während des Betriebes der Rohrleitung sowie Ein- und Ausströmen von Luft während Füllung und Entleerung von Rohrleitungen, wodurch ein störfreier Rohrleitungsbetrieb gesichert ist. Die Funktion ist selbsttätig aufgrund von Kugelauftrieb und Druckunterschied zwischen dem Rohrinneren und der Atmosphäre. Entlüftungsventil besteht aus zwei Kammern und dem Absperrventil in der Mitte, das im Betrieb stets geöffnet sein muss. Die linke Kammer ist für Entlüftung von kleinen und die rechte für Ein- und Austritt von großen Luftmengen vorgesehen. Entlüftungsventile werden in höchstgelegenen Rohrleitungs-Knickpunkten angeordnet.
