Follow the instructions scrupulously to avoid accidents or mishaps to people or equipment This equipment must not be used with radioactive chemical products! Do not expose the pump to sun and rain.avoid splashing with water. Read carefully! If an emergency of any kind occurs in the room where the pump is installed, disconnect the installation and the pump immediately from the electrical power supply. If particularly aggressive chemical products are used, the safety instructions concerning the products used must be followed scrupulously If the metering pump is installed outside the European Community, please comply with local safety rules. The manufacturer of the metering pump will not be liable for damage caused to persons and equipment due to incorrect installation or use of the pump. Attention Install the metering pump so that it is easily accessible for maintenance. Never obstruct access to the place where the metering pump is installed. Install an interlock which automatically shuts down the pump if circulation fails. Service and maintenance of the pump and its accessories should only be carried out by qualified personnel. Before carrying out any maintenance, always drain the pipes and fittings on the metering pump. Always thoroughly wash and drain tubes which have been used with particularly aggressive chemical products. Use the recommended safety equipment in accordance with the safety data sheet when handling these products. 5 Introduction and operation The PULSE metering pump is the ideal solution for low-rate metering of chemical products. English Main components Operating method Available model Enclosure (PP+Fibre Glass, IP65 rating) PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Electromagnet Diaphragm (PTFE) Pump body (PP) Operation is of intermittent type: every time a pulse is sent to the electromagnet, a magnetic field generates a movement of the piston to which the diaphragm is fixed, which compresses the liquid in the pump body and ejects it. When the piston has returned to its original position, it creates negative pressure, sucking the liquid into the pump body. Obviously, the flow rate of the pump is directly proportional to the number of pulses supplied to the electromagnet together with the volume of the metering head. English Installation of the pump: Connection of pipes: Fix the pump to a wall of the plant room so that it does not cause any vibration when in operation. Ensure that the pump is installed in a place which is easily accessible. The suction valves and outlet valves must always be in the vertical position! The metering pump must always be installed in the vertical position. The suction tube (Cristal PVC) must be as short as possible and in the vertical position so that air bubbles are not sucked in. THE END OF THE SUCTION TUBE MUST BE INSERTED COMPLETELY OVER THE BASE OF THE CONICAL TUBE FITTING. USE ONLY PIPES WHICH ARE COMPATIBLE WITH THE CHEMICAL PRODUCTS TO BE METERED! REFER TO THE CHEMICAL COMPATIBILITY TABLE FOR THE METERED PRODUCT. Electrical Installation Connect the electrical supply cable of the pump to the swimming pool switch box using a relay. This must close to make the contact when filtration starts up. The metering pump must be controlled by the pool filtration. Before making any connection to the control box do the following: - check that the installation is earthed! - if the earth connection is not sufficient, install a residual current detector with 0.03 sensitivity; - check that the control box voltage corresponds to that indicated on the label glued to the metering pump. 10 Front of the PULSE pump English The display during normal operation shows: the ph proportion of the pool A single lit LED indicates the ph value corresponding to the LED Two LEDs lit at the same time indicate that the ph value is between the two values shown. (e.g. LED lit 7.2 and 7.40: the value read by the probe is 7.3) If the LED flashes on 6.8 or 7.6, this indicates a value which is off the scale. The display during programming may indicate the calibration point, the maximum dosage alarm or the set point. The LEDs which light successively from bottom to top of the ph/hr scale indicate that the programmed data (calibration, maximum dosage alarm or set point) have been saved. G-INSB-PULSEPL 10

11 Keypad Programming the keypad Each key has two designations and one LED (bottom keys). The upper designation is used to select the programming function by pressing the key. The lower designation indicates an abnormal operation condition. English The steady LED associated with a key indicates that a function has been selected. The flashing LED notifies the operator of an alarm condition. Operating principle of the keys on the keypad If the pump is not operating correctly, the 4 LEDs on the keys flash. In this case a full RESET of the pump is needed. Disconnect the electrical power supply, press all 4 programming keys at the same time, restore the electrical power supply and release the 4 keys only when all the LEDs on the ph/hr scale remain lit. ATTENTION: After this operation it will be necessary to reprogramme all values. ON-OFF KEY (V Alarm) This key is used to activate or deactivate pump operation (start/stop). In the OFF position, the LED flashes every 5 seconds and indicates that the pump is powered up. PRIMING/MANUAL METERING If the ON/OFF key is held down, the pump will start in manual mode to allow priming or checking the equipment and the hydraulic circuit. When the key is released, the pump will return to normal operating mode. V-ALARM When the LED on this key flashes slowly, the pump is not metering and there is a problem with the supply voltage. 12 Programming the Set Point SET-POINT KEY (Stand-By) English This key is used to programme the set point (value you want in the tank). The default value is programmed at 7.2pH. When the metering pump reaches this value, metering stops. In relation to the programmed value, the pump operates with a proportionality factor of 0.3pH. To modify the value of the default set point, proceed as follows: In normal operating mode, hold down the SET POINT key for 5 seconds. The LED will light. Press the ON/OFF key successively to select the new required value. To save this, hold the SET POINT key down until the LEDs light successively from the bottom upwards on the ph/hr scale. STAND-BY If you connect the pump to an external signal and this is active, the pump will stop metering and the value read in the tank will be shown. In this case, the LED flashes. G-INSB-PULSEPL 12

13 Programming the maximum dosage alarm SAFETY KEY (Max Dos) English This key is used to enter a maximum dosage time. This function stops the pump when the programmed time has been passed and prevents overdosing of the product in the event of probe failure, no water etc... PROGRAMMING THE MAXIMUM DOSAGE TIME ALARM Hold down the Safety key until the LED lights. The values are expressed in hours and will be displayed on the ph/hr scale. Press the ON/OFF key several times to choose the maximum dosage time required. To save this, hold down the Safety key until the LEDs light successively from the bottom upwards on the ph/hr scale. Programming example: If you choose 0, no dosage alarm is activated. If you choose 2 Hr, the pump will stop at the end of two hours of continuous operation. If the pump is injecting 2l/hr, after 2 hours 4 litres of product will have been injected. The maximum dosage time must be programmed as a function of the volume of the swimming pool. There are two possible ways to cancel an overdosage alarm (max dos) which has been set: MAXIMUM DOSAGE ALARM CANCELLATION AND CHANGE OF DOSAGE TIME Hold down the Safety key. The value expressed in hours is displayed on the ph/hr scale. Release the key. It is then possible, using the ON/OFF key, to enter a new value. To save this, hold down the Safety key until the LEDs light successively from the bottom upwards on the ph/hr scale. The pump will restart when required. MAXIMUM DOSAGE ALARM CANCELLATION WITHOUT CHANGE OF DOSAGE TIME Hold down the Safety key. The value expressed in hours is displayed on the ph/hr scale. Release the key then hold down the Safety key again until the LEDs light successively from the bottom upwards on the ph/hr scale. The pump will restart when required. G-INSB-PULSEPL 13

14 Calibrating the probe (calibration) and level alarm CALIBRATION KEY (Level) This key is used to calibrate the probe using a ph7 buffer solution. To enter Calibration mode, press the key for 5 seconds and the LED will light. Take off the protective cap of the ph probe and connect it to the ph BNC connector located under the pump, then immerse the end of the probe in the buffer solution. Wait for approximately 1 minute, stirring the probe in the buffer solution. To save, hold down the Calibration key until the LEDs light successively from the bottom upwards on the ph/hr scale. English The LED on the ph/hr scale must correspond to the value of the ph7 buffer solution. If this value has to be modified, press the ON/OFF key successively to reach the value of the buffer solution. To save, hold down the Calibration key until the LEDs light successively from the bottom upwards on the ph/hr scale. LEVEL If the level probe records a low level alarm in the metering tank, the corresponding LED flashes and shuts down metering. Metering will begin again when the tank has been filled. 16 Electrical Installation To avoid damage to the metering pump, never install the pump in parallel with inductive loads (e.g. motor). Use a relay. English P - Metering pump R - Relay I - Switch or safety device E Solenoid valve or inductive circuit A Power supply REPAIRS MUST BE CARRIED OUT BY QUALIFIED PERSONNEL. All metering pumps are fitted with a system for reducing interference (EMC). The main board is protected by a fuse. To change this, proceed as follows: - disconnect the pump from the electrical network - remove the 6 screws from the front panel of the pump using a Philips screwdriver - remove the rear panel - remove the fuse from the main board and replace with a fuse of identical value (time-delay 5x20 T). On the motherboard for the pump there is another connection against overvoltage (300 V 150 V), and against 4 KV peaks for a period of 50μsec, as shown on the diagram in fig. 1. G-INSB-PULSEPL 16

The filter strainer is weighted so that it remains at the bottom of the metering tank. Connect the level probe to the BNC Level probe connector located under the pump. Respecter scrupuleusement les consignes pour éviter tout accident ou incident aux personnes et matériels. L utilisation de ce matériel avec des produits chimiques radioactifs est absolument interdite! Tenir la pompe à l abri du soleil et de la pluie. Eviter les projections d eau. A lire avec attention! Devant une urgence de quelque nature que ce soit dans le local où est installée la pompe, il est nécessaire de couper immédiatement le courant de l installation et de débrancher l alimentation de la pompe. Si on utilise des produits chimiques particulièrement agressifs, il est nécessaire de suivre scrupuleusement les consignes de sécurité concernant les produits utilisés. Si la pompe doseuse est installée en dehors de la Communauté Européenne, veuiller suivre les normes locales de sécurité. Le fabricant de la pompe doseuse ne peut être tenu responsable pour les dommages causés aux personnes et matériels dus à une mauvaise installation ou utilisation de la pompe. Attention Installer la pompe doseuse de sorte qu elle soit facilement accessible en cas d intervention de manutention. Ne jamais obstruer l accès où est installée la pompe doseuse. Installer un dispositif interlock pour bloquer automatiquement la pompe en cas de manque de circulation. L entretien et la maintenance de la pompe doseuse et de tout accessoire doit toujours être effectués par du personnel qualifié. Avant chaque intervention de maintenance, vider toujours les tuyaux et raccords de la pompe doseuse. Vider et laver toujours avec attention les tubes qui ont été utilisés avec des produits chimiques particulièrement agressifs. Utiliser les matériels de sécurité recommandés dans la manipulation de ces produits conformément aux fiches de sécutité. 20 Présentation et fonctionnement La pompe doseuse type PULSE est la solution idéale pour le faible dosage de produits chimiques. Composants principaux Mode de fonctionnement Modèle disponible Coffret (PP+Fiber Glass, IP65 rating) PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Electroaimant Membrane (PTFE) Corps de pompe (PP) Le fonctionnement est de type intermittent : chaque fois qu une impulsion est envoyée à l électroaimant, un champs magnétique génère un mouvement du piston où est fixée la membrane, qui comprime le liquide dans le corps de pompe, l éjectant. Une fois que le piston retourne dans sa position initiale, il créé une dépression, aspirant le liquide dans le corps de pompe. Il est évident que le débit de la pompe est directement proportionnel aux nombres d impulsions fournies à l électroaimant ainsi qu au volume de la tête de dosage. 24 Installation de la pompe: Fixer la pompe sur une paroi du local technique de façon que lors de son fonctionnement cela ne génère aucune vibration. S assurer que la pompe est installée dans un endroit facilement accessible. Les clapets d aspiration et de refoulement doivent toujours être en position verticale! Connexion des tuyaux La pompe doseuse doit toujours être installée en position verticale. Le tube d aspiration (PVC cristal) doit être le plus court possible et en position verticale afin d éviter l aspiration de bulles d air. Français L EXTREMITE DU TUBE D ASPIRATION DOIT ETRE INSERE COMPLETEMENT SUR LA BASE DU PORTE TUBE CONIQUE. UTILISER UNIQUEMENT DES TUYAUX COMPATIBLES AVEC LES PRO- DUITS CHIMIQUES A DOSER! SE REFERER A LA TABLE DE COMPATIBILITE CHIMIQUE DU PRODUIT A DOSER. Installation Electrique Raccorder le câble électrique d alimentation de la pompe sur le coffret électrique de la piscine par l intermédiaire d un relais. Celui-ci laissera passer le contact lorsque la filtration se mettra en route. La pompe doseuse doit être absolument asservie à la filtration de la piscine. Avant toute connexion au coffret électrique s assurer ce qui suit : -vérifier la présence de la terre dans l installation! -en cas d insuffisance de la prise de terre, installer un interrupteur différentiel d unesensibilité de 0,03A. -vérifier que le voltage du coffret électrique correspond avec celui indiqué sur l étiquettecollée sous la pompe doseuse. 25 Français Pentair Water - Pool & Spa Pulse ph/led Façade de la Pompe PULSE Echelle ph/hr L affichage durant le fonctionnement normal indique : le taux de rédox de la piscine. Si la LED clignote sur 6.8 ou sur 7.6 cela indique une valeur hors échelle. Une seule LED éclairée indique la valeur rédox correspondante à la LED. Deux LED éclairées en même temps indique que la valeur rédox est comprise entre les deux valeurs indiquées. (Ex.: LED éclairée 7.2 et 7.4 : la valeur lue par la sonde est environ 7.3). L affichage durant la programmation peut indiquer le point d étalonnage (calibration), l alarme de dosage maxi ou le point consigne (set point). Les LED qui s allument successivement de bas en haut de l échelle ph/hr, indiquent que les données programmées (étalonnage, alarme dosage max ou point consigne) ont été sauvegardées. 26 Programmation du clavier Clavier Chaque touche est composée de deux indications et d une LED (touches du bas). L indication supérieure permet de sélectionner la fonction de programmation en pressant la touche. L indication inférieure indique une condition de fonctionnement abnormale. La LED -fixe-associée à une touche indique la sélection d une fonction. La LED -clignote-indique à l opérateur une condition d alarme. Principe de fonctionnement des touches du clavier Dans le cas où la pompe ne fonctionne pas correctement, les 4 LED des touches clignotent. Dans ce cas il est nécessaire de faire un RESET complet de la pompe. Couper l alimentation électrique, appuyer sur les 4 touches de programmation en même temps, remettre l alimentation et relâcher les 4 touches uniquement quand toutes les LED de l échelle ph / Hr restent éclairées. Français ATTENTION: Après cette opération, il est nécessaire de reprogrammer toutes les valeurs. TOUCHE ON-OFF (V Alarm) Cette touche permet d activer ou de désactiver le fonctionnement de la pompe (marche / arrêt). En position OFF, la LED clignote toutes les 5 secondes et indique que la pompe est sous tension. AMORCAGE / DOSAGE MANUEL En maintenant appuyé la touche ON/OFF, la pompe va démarrer en mode manuel permettant l amorçage, la vérification du matériel ainsi que le circuit hydraulique. Quand on relâche la touche, la pompe revient en mode de fonctionnement normal. V-ALARM Quand la LED de cette touche clignote lentement, la pompe ne dose pas et indique un problème de tension d alimentation. G-INSB-PULSEPL 26

27 Programmation Set Point (Point consigne) TOUCHE SET-POINT (Stand-By) Cette touche permet de programmer le point consigne (valeur que vous désirez dans le bassin). La valeur par défaut est programmée à 7.2 ph. Quand la pompe doseuse arrivera à cette valeur, le dosage s arrêtera. A partir de la valeur programmée, la pompe fonctionne avec un facteur de proportionnalité de 0.3 ph. Pour modifier la valeur du point consigne par défaut, procéder comme suit : Partant du mode de fonctionnement normal, maintenir appuyé pendant 5 secondes la touche SET POINT. La LED s éclaire. En appuyant successivement sur la touche ON/OFF, sélectionner la nouvelle valeur désirée. Pour sauvegarder, maintenir appuyé la touche SET POINT jusqu à ce que les LED s allument successivement de bas en haut sur l échelle ph/hr. Français STAND-BY Si vous connectez la pompe à un signal externe et que celui-ci est actif, la pompe s arrêtera de doser tout en indiquant la valeur lue dans le bassin. Dans ce cas, la LED clignote. 28 Programmation alarme dosage maxi TOUCHE SECURITE (Max Dos) Cette touche permet de rentrer un temps de dosage maximum. Cette fonction oblige la pompe à s arrêter passé le délai programmé, afin d éviter un surdosage de produit en cas de défaillance de la sonde, manque d eau etc... PROGRAMMATION ALARME DU TEMPS DE DOSAGE MAXI Maintenir appuyé la touche Sécurité jusqu à ce que la LED s allume. Les valeurs sont exprimées en heure, et seront visualisées sur l échelle ph/hr. En appuyant plusieurs fois sur la touche ON/OFF, choisir le temps de dosage maximum désiré. Pour sauvegarder, maintenir appuyé la touche Sécurité jusqu à ce que les LED s allument successivement de bas en haut sur l échelle ph/hr. Français Exemple de programmation: Si vous choisissez 0, aucune alarme de dosage n est activée. Le temps de dosage maximum doit être programmmé en fonction du volume de la piscine. Pour débloquer une alarme de surdosage (max dos), vous avez le choix entre 2 possibilités : DEBLOCAGE ALARME DOSAGE MAXI AVEC MODIFICATION DU TEMPS DE DOSAGE Maintenir appuyé la touche Sécurité. La valeur exprimée en heure s affiche sur l échelle ph/hr. Relâcher la touche. Il est alors possible en utilisant la touche ON/ OFF d entrer une nouvelle valeur. Pour sauvegarder, maintenir appuyé la touche Sécurité jusqu à ce que les LED s allument successivement de bas en haut sur l échelle ph/hr. La pompe redémarre alors si elle est en demande. DEBLOCAGE ALARME DOSAGE MAXI SANS MODIFICATION DU TEMPS DE DOSAGE Maintenir appuyé la touche Sécurité. La valeur exprimée en heure s affiche sur l échelle ph/hr. 29 Etalonnage de la Sonde (calibration) et alarme de niveau TOUCHE ETALONNAGE (Level) Cette touche permet de faire la calibration de la sonde à l aide d une solution tampon ph7. Pour rentrer en mode Calibration, appuyer sur la touche «calibration» pendant 5 secondes, la LED s allume (650 ph). Immerger l extrémité de la sonde ph dans la solution tampon après avoir ôté son capuchon protecteur et l avoir connectée sur la fiche BNC ph se trouvant sous la pompe. Attendre environ 1 minute tout en agitant la sonde dans la solution tampon. Pour sauvegarder, maintenir appuyé la touche Calibration jusqu à ce que les LED s allument successivement de bas en haut sur l échelle ph/hr. La LED sur l échelle ph/hr doit correspondre impérativement à la valeur de la solution tampon ph7. Dans le cas où il faudrait modifier cette valeur, presser successivement sur la touche ON/OFF pour atteindre la valeur de la solution tampon. Pour sauvegarder, maintenir appuyé la touche Calibration jusqu à ce que les LED s allument successivement de bas en haut sur l échelle ph/hr. Français LEVEL (Niveau) Si la sonde de niveau relève une alarme de niveau bas dans le bac doseur, la LED correspondante clignote et coupe le dosage. P Pompe doseuse R Relais I Switch du dispositif de sécurité E Electrovanne du circuit inductif A Alimentation LES REPARATIONS DOIVENT ETRE EFFECTUEES PAR DU PERSONNEL QUALIFIE. Toutes les pompes doseuses sont équipées d un système de réduction d interférences (EMC). Un fusible protège la carte principale. Pour le changer, procéder comme suit : -déconnecter la pompe du réseau électrique -enlever les 6 vis sur le panneau arrière de la pompe à l aide d un tournevis cruciforme. -enlever le panneau arrière -ôter le fusible de la carte principale et l échanger par un fusible de valeur identique (5x20 Ttemporisé). Sur la carte mère de la pompe est présente une autre connexion contre le survoltage (300 V 150 V), et contre les pics de 4 KV pour une durée de 50µsec, comme indiqué sur le schéma fig.1. Achtung Schläuche, die für besonders aggressive Chemikalien genutzt wurden, müssen vorsichtig geleert und gespült werden Die Dosierpumpe muss jederzeit für Bedienungs- und Wartungsarbeiten zugänglich gehalten werden. Der freie Zugang darf nicht verstellt oder behindert sein. Es muss ein Blockiersystem als Geräteschutz vorgesehen werden, das die Pumpe bei Abreißen des Flüssigkeitsstroms automatisch deaktiviert. Deutsch Wartung und Reparatur von Pumpe und Zubehör darf nur durch qualifizierte Personen erfolgen. Vor Arbeiten an der Dosierpumpe sind die Schläuche und Anschlüsse der Pumpe zu entleeren.. Bei Umgang mit solchen Chemikalien ist die in den Sicherheitsdatenblättern empfohlenen persönliche Schutzausrüstung zu tragen.
