2 Projektinformationen Titel: Projektnummer: Projekttyp: Jahr: 2009 Status: Marketing Text: Weiterentwicklung der Fähigkeiten der Bio-Landwirtschaft Trainer für das Mittelmeer ES1-LEO Innovationstransfer abgeschlossen ES-Spanien Konventionelle landwirtschaftliche Produktion wurde durch die starke Abhängigkeit von nicht erneuerbaren Rohstoffen verwendet werden (Mechanisierung, Dünger, Pestizide etc.), die sich in zahlreichen landwirtschaftlichen Belastungen wie die Verschlechterung der Bodenqualität, Wasser-run-off, Umweltverschmutzung, Reduzierung der Artenvielfalt und Landschaftsbild, der zunehmenden Produktionskosten. Sensibilisierung der Öffentlichkeit für die irreversible Schäden für die Umwelt getan hat, fordert einen verantwortungsvollen Umgang mit unserem Naturerbe geführt. Zusammenfassung: Organic Agriculture (OA) is an increasingly important part of the food and agriculture industries. Public awareness on environmental issues has brought forward OA as an agricultural approach that can not only produce safer products but is environmentally sound too. Due to the particularities of the agricultural sector though it is difficult to promote the new culture of sustainable agricultural production to its stakeholders. In countries such as Turkey, Greece and Spain, the uptake of OA practices and techniques is still developing. The reasons for these countries lagging behind can be found in the slow introduction of OA topics as a priority of academic and vocational educational systems of all levels that contribute to the education of agricultural professionals. In this context, the Organic.Mednet project: - Identified and analysed targeted user requirements for training agricultural professionals in a number of EU countries (i.e. Greece, Spain and Turkey) on topics related to Organic Agriculture. - Selected and analysed innovative e-learning content that had been previously developed to support training needs in previous initiatives. - Integrated the e-learning content in national and regional training systems and practices related to OA. - Adapted and enhanced selected e-learning content to support the lifelong learning needs of agricultural professionals in the participating user organisations, through appropriately designed training scenarios. - Collected, categorized and published in an online learning repository (the Organic.Edunet portal: the transferred content from previous initiatives in the form of digital training objects. - Deployed a multilingual Multimedia Online Learning Environment (MOLE: specifically designed to facilitate end-users online use of digital training objects. - Designed a number of training scenarios for the use of the transferred e-learning content to support training of agricultural professionals in the participating user organisations. - Carried out a set of focused pilot trials to validate the proposed training scenarios and the transferred e-learning content. 2
3 Projektinformationen Beschreibung: - Promoted the cooperation of stakeholders in the area and supported the sustainability of project results. Organic.Mednet transferrred innovative training techniques and materials in two different levels: - From a geographical perspective, Organic.Mednet transferred training content that had been tested in other countries like Spain, Austria, Norway, the Netherlands and Greece, as well as existing training content that was publicly available worldwide, into the targeted country of Turkey as well as in another geographical region and user groups in Greece and Spain. - From an educational level perspective, Organic.Mednet transferred training methods previously used in the context of secondary and higher education mainly for agronomists (e.g. graduate education of students in agricultural universities, post-graduate training of young agronomists) to (a) support vocational training needs of agronomists that require focused vocational training on OA topics and (b) support lifelong learning needs of farmers that want to acquire new skills and cultivate new products. The overall strategy of transfer was skill acquisition through the course of practice in 3 main directions: participatory training techniques, organic agriculture level 3 curriculum and techonology enhanced learning tools (learning object repositories and online learning environments). To achieve the goals of mastering the new concepts and skills to the point of being motivated to make use of them in their day to day training practise, the following strategy was planned: - Train the trainers courses of about a week (face to face) + 1/2 weeks online on the novel topics mentioned (participatory training techniques and ICT tools), including application of those to VET training pointing out the advantages for them and their students of all these skills. Three trainers courses were implemented, one per target country (Greece, Spain and Turkey) were experts from the project partners participated. - The trainers of the previous courses had to commit to put the new skills into practice in the training courses that they usually were involved in, whether these were formal VET classes or more informal talks to farmers, unions or associations of farmers. - During all this process, a twofold evaluation strategy was followed: first we evaluated the "train the trainers" events to later evaluate the courses to farmers. Geographically, all target countries were covered; e.g. in Spain, on a regional level, all regions were targeted as the experts invited came from all parts of the country, and the same was for Greece. In Turkey, only the Adana region was targeted due to the size of the country and the difficulties for covering expenses to people in more distant (often remote) areas. This strategy was moderately successful, given the interest of the participants and their willingness to apply the new skills in their day-to-day activities. Regarding suitability, it is perfectly suitable to deploy a similar strategie in any other region/country in the future. The courses for trainers are mature and well established, and the adaptation to local specificities is not complicated and can be done withouth major problems. In fact a similar approach was followed by sibling project Organic.Balkanet in the balkans regions with a similar level of success. As for the project impact, overall, more than 40 people were directly targeted during the advisors' Training: 10 in Greece, 13 in Turkey and 20 in Spain. Beschreibung: Organic.Mednet MOLE fosters distance-learning by enabling communication between tutors/trainers and students, cooperation among students, and access to coursework information and digital training objects (DTOs). In doing this, the Organic.Mednet MOLE Platform supports the combination of traditional classroom-based lessons and practical sessions, with self-study and e-learning. The Organic.Mednet MOLE Platform is an instance of the MOLE (Multimedia Open Learning Environment) platform, initially developed to support education and organize learning processes and learning communities for the needs of the Electronic and Computer Engineering Department of the Technical University of Crete. Beschreibung: The curriculum consists of 12 modules structured in a standardized form which contains the following elements: 1. Module Title and Number 2. Module Size 3. Module Aims 4. Module Description 5. Core Competence and Learning Outcomes 6. Content Outline 7. Guidance (delivery methods, resources required, assessment methods) It is considered that the contents of the following modules are the essential organic aspects of a level 3 course in Agriculture in Mediterranean countries. For a level 3 course additional modules would be needed to build up a course of 6, 12 or 18 modules in the areas that interest the learner. Zielgruppe: Trainers and educational institutions Resultat: To investigate the training needs, in terms of required skills and qualifications of the targeted user groups, a series of consultation meetings were planned during the first months of our project. These meetings were held during March of 2010 one in each of the partner countries: Turkey, Spain and Greece. The local partners in each country organised the meetings inviting agricultural experts that would later serve as candidate advisors for farmers on Organic Agriculture topics. In these meetings, participants were asked to list short, skills based courses, that they considered important to farmers/students to meet their immediate needs. All added additional areas for training and education; a preliminary list of example competences was greatly expanded to include those considered important to local circumstances. The final result of this process was the Organic.Mednet curriculum, a list of 12 modules covering the essential aspects of a Level 3 course in organic agriculture in Mediterranean countries. The Organic.Edunet portal -a result of the econtent+ program project Organic.Edunet- facilitates access, usage and exploitation of digital educational content related to Organic Agriculture and Agroecology. Beschreibung: The task carried out in the Organic.Mednet project was to translate the user interface into the three languages that were a target for this project transfer of innovation: Turkish, Greek and Spanish. Zielgruppe: Having an interface for this portal in Turkish, Spanish and Greek facilitated agricultural professionals search and retrieval of learning resources in their mother tongue. These materials will later be used to deliver training to farmers. 16 Produkt 'Workshops on Training needs of user organizations' Titel: Workshops on Training needs of user organizations Produkttyp: andere Marketing Text: Three national workshops were carried out in the 3 target countries (Spain, Turkey and Greece) during the first 6 months of the project to elicitate the training needs of the target groups. Beschreibung: A series of consultation meetings were planned by IFSAT to decide the training needs of end users: one in each of the active partner countries Turkey, Spain and Greece. Further, primary, secondary and tertiary stakeholder groups were identified. The local partners in these countries organised these meetings inviting individuals from each of the identified stakeholder groups, they also organised and completed all necessary translations for the consultation meetings. It was decided that the consultation meetings were the most appropriate method of getting the required information in a structured way that could be used by IFSAT to ultimately present in the EU format as required by the project. These meetings were held during March of 2010 and the results of these appear in the following report. Beschreibung: Organic.Mednet sustainability plan aims to present the study of further sustainability actions for the main Organic.Mednet results by an assessment of their market positioning, strengths and weaknesses. It particularly focuses on the maintenance of the software provided as a result of the project (specially to the Organic.Mednet MOLE platform) as well as to the continuation of Organic.Edunet Web portal as a pan-european service. The Commission divides exploitation into two distinct categories : mainstreaming and multiplication. Although the Organic.Mednet project can be considered an entity and product as a whole, it is also important to see it as a set of produced outcomes that have an own value and life span after the end of the project.
