1 Western Australian Certificate of Education Examination, 2016 GERMAN: BACKGROUND LANGUAGE Written examination Section One: Listening Recording transcript Copyright School Curriculum and Standards Authority /16586

2 GERMAN: BACKGROUND LANGUAGE 2 RECORDING TRANSCRIPT This is the 2016 WACE Sample examination in the German: Background Language course, Section One: Listening. Listen to the short text, which is printed in your Question/Answer Booklet. This will help you to become accustomed to the speakers voices. There are no questions or marks associated with this text. Guten Tag. Und was kommt dann?

3 GERMAN: BACKGROUND LANGUAGE 3 RECORDING TRANSCRIPT You will hear two texts in German. Each text will be played twice. There will be a pause between the readings and a longer pause after the second reading to allow you to respond to the questions. You can respond to the questions at any time once the spoken texts begin. Text 1: Bei den Eltern wohnen (First reading) Listen to this interview and answer Question 1.

5 GERMAN: BACKGROUND LANGUAGE 5 RECORDING TRANSCRIPT Text 2: Radiomeldung (First reading) Listen to this radio announcement and answer Question 2. SWR 3, Ihr Kultursender.
