4 Produktinformationen / Hinweise zum Gebrauch A D-4 Produktinformationen / Hinweise zum Gebrauch Diese Anleitung soll dem Benutzer helfen, das Blutdruckmessgerät visocor E sicher und effizient anzuwenden. Das Gerät muss entsprechend den in dieser Anleitung enthaltenen Verfahren verwendet werden und darf nicht für andere Zwecke eingesetzt/benutzt werden. Es ist wichtig, die ganze Anleitung zu lesen und zu verstehen. Lesen Sie die Anleitung sorgfältig durch und machen Sie sich vor allem mit dem Kapitel Grundregeln zur Ermittlung des Blutdrucks vertraut. Die Messgenauigkeit kann fehlerhaft sein, wenn während der Messung keine absolute Ruhe eingehalten wird. Ungenaue Ergebnisse können auftreten, wenn das Blutdruckmessgerät bei Kindern verwendet wird. Konsultieren Sie Ihren Arzt, wenn Sie den Blutdruck eines Kindes messen möchten. Das visocor E ist auf die nicht-invasive Messung des systolischen und diastolischen Blutdrucks am Oberarm bei Erwachsenen ausgerichtet. Anleitung E.indd :29:47

5 Produktinformationen / Hinweise zum Gebrauch Wichtig! Das Gerät verfügt über keine Druckbegrenzung bei 150 mmhg und sollte deshalb nicht bei Säuglingen angewendet werden! Das Produkt wird Patienten mit labilem Blutdruck oder bekannter Hypertonie empfohlen, zur häuslichen Verwendung und Therapieunterstützung. Die Manschette der Standardausführung passt für einen Oberarmumfang von 22 bis 32 Zentimetern. Das Gerät erfasst einen Druck von 0 bis 300 mmhg. Messmethode Dieses Produkt ist vorgesehen zur auskultatorischen Bestimmung des Blutdrucks. Durch das Aufpumpen der Manschette mittels Pumpball wird der Blutfluss in der Oberarmarterie abgestellt. Während des Entlüftungsvorgangs werden mit Beginn des Blutflusses in der Arterie pochende Geräusche mittels Stethoskop hörbar. Bei Beginn der Geräusche wird die Systole festgestellt, mit dem letzten hörbaren Ton wird die Diastole erkannt. Nach Feststellung beider Werte kann die Manschette komplett entlüftet werden. 8 Kurzanleitung zur Messung B Bitte vor der ersten Messung die ausführliche Gebrauchsanweisung lesen! (ab Seite 11) 1. Luftschlauch am Gerät anschließen 2. Anlegen der Manschette Linken Arm freimachen. Manschette am Oberarm anlegen: Unterkante der Manschette 2-3 cm oberhalb der Ellenbeuge. Stethoskopmembran auf die Pulsstelle platzieren. 9 Kurzanleitung zur Messung damit ist die Stethoskopmembran über der Pulsstelle platziert. Bei Anwendung am rechten Arm, muss die Manschette so weit nach links verdreht werden, bis die Stethoskopmembran auf der Pulsstelle liegt. Der Luftschlauch verläuft dann an der Innenseite des Oberarmes. 3. Stethoskop anlegen Ohrbügel des Stethoskops so anlegen, dass die Ohroliven fest in den Ohren sitzen. 4. Manschette aufpumpen Mit dem Pumpball in der rechten Hand Manschette aufpumpen, bis der Zeiger des Manometers einen Wert etwa 30 mmhg oberhalb des zu erwartenden systolischen Blutdruckwertes anzeigt. 10 Kurzanleitung zur Messung B 5. Blutdruck messen Luftablassschraube öffnen, der Zeiger läuft langsam zurück. Auf Geräusch im Stethoskop achten. Beim ersten deutlich pochenden Ton systolischen Wert ablesen (Abb. 1). Beim letzten hörbaren Ton den diastolischen Wert ablesen (Abb. 2). 6. Überprüfen Sie, ob der Luftschlauch fest auf dem Anschluss des Handgerätes steckt. 2. Anlegen der Manschette Linken Arm freimachen. 12 Bedienung des Gerätes C Wichtig: Bei Anwendung am linken Arm läuft der Luftschlauch in der Mitte der Armbeuge zum Gerät, damit ist die Stethoskopmembran über der Pulsstelle platziert. Bei Anwendung am rechten Arm, muss die Manschette so weit nach links verdreht werden, bis die Stethoskopmembran auf der Pulsstelle liegt. Der Luftschlauch verläuft dann an der Innenseite des Oberarmes. Die Stethoskopmembran muss auf der Pulsstelle liegen. Je genauer die Membran auf der Pulsstelle liegt, desto lauter sind anschließend die Pulstöne zu hören. D-12 Beachten Sie: Auf keinen Fall das Gerät über einer kritischen Stelle (z.b. 13 Bedienung des Gerätes Ziehen Sie jetzt das freie Manschettenende straff und schlagen es fest über den Klettverschluss. Legen Sie den linken Arm mit der Manschette ausgestreckt auf einen Tisch und halten ihn während der Messung unbedingt ruhig, sprechen Sie nicht. Die Handinnenfläche weist nach oben. 3. Anlegen des Stethoskops Legen Sie den Ohrbügel des Stethoskops so an, dass die Ohroliven fest in den Ohren sitzen. Für den einwandfreien Sitz des Stethoskops lassen sich die Rohre des Ohrbügels drehen. Drehen Sie am besten die Ohroliven leicht nach vorn. C Bedienung des Gerätes D-13 Anleitung E.indd :29:48

14 Bedienung des Gerätes C 4. Manschette aufpumpen Drehventil schließen. Gummiball in die rechte Hand nehmen und damit die Manschette aufpumpen. Durch weitere Pumpstöße die Manschette aufpumpen, bis der Zeiger auf der Skala einen Wert anzeigt, der etwa 30 mmhg oberhalb des zu erwartenden systolischen Blutdruckwertes liegt. Pumpen Sie bei unbekannten Blutdruckwerten bis ca. 250 mmhg auf. Sollten Sie dennoch deutlich pochende Geräusche im Stethoskop hören, pumpen Sie weiter, bis keine Töne mehr wahrzunehmen sind. Bedienung des Gerätes Vor der Messung: - Atmen Sie 2-3 mal tief durch. - Entspannen Sie sich. - Bewegen Sie sich nicht - Sprechen Sie nicht. - Spannen Sie Ihren Arm während der Messung nicht an. - Atmen Sie ruhig. 5. Messen des Blutdrucks Öffnen Sie vorsichtig die Ventilschraube und lassen Sie dadurch langsam die Luft aus der Manschette. Der Zeiger des Manometers läuft langsam zurück. 15 Bedienung des Gerätes digkeit variiert werden (Empfehlung der WHO: 2-3 mmhg/sekunde). Beobachten Sie jetzt genau den Zeigerlauf auf der Skala und achten Sie auf die Geräusche, die Sie mit dem Stethoskop hören. Beim ersten deutlich pochenden Ton lesen Sie den systolischen Blutdruckwert auf der Skala ab und merken Sie sich den Wert (Abb. 1). Abb. 1 C Bedienung des Gerätes Hören Sie auf das rhythmische Klopfen in Ihrem Stethoskop. Beim Verschwinden der Töne bzw. beim letzten hörbaren Ton lesen Sie den diastolischen Blutdruckwert auf der Skala ab und merken sich diesen ebenfalls (Abb. 2). Abb. 2 D-15 Anleitung E.indd :29:48

16 Bedienung des Gerätes C 6. Ende der Messung Öffnen Sie nach dem Ablesen der Diastole das Ablassventil. Nehmen Sie die Manschette nach totaler Entlüftung ab. Vor Beginn einer Wiederholungsmessung sollten Sie drei Minuten warten, bis sich die Blutzirkulation wieder normalisiert hat. Notieren Sie die ermittelten Blutdruckwerte in einem Blutdruckpass. Dadurch erhalten Sie über einen längeren Zeitraum einen Überblick über Ihre Blutdrucksituation, die Sie ggf. mit Ihrem Arzt besprechen können. Bedienung des Gerätes Ständige Wiederholungen von Messungen können Stauungen hervorrufen und damit zu falschen Messwerten führen. Machen Sie zwischen den Messungen eine Pause von mindestens 3-5 Minuten. D-16 Anleitung E.indd :29:49

17 Wichtige Hinweise 1. Grundregeln zur Ermittlung des Blutdrucks Die Messung muss in Ruhe vorgenommen werden. Gehen oder Treppensteigen erhöht den Blutdruck. Warten Sie mindestens 5 Minuten, bis Ihr Kreislauf sich beruhigt hat. Kontrollieren Sie den Blutdruck zweimal täglich morgens nach dem Aufstehen und abends, wenn Sie sich nach der Arbeit entspannt haben. Der Blutdruck muss im Sitzen gemessen werden. Setzen Sie sich für die Messung in möglichst entspannter und gerader Haltung an Ihren Esstisch (keinesfalls niedriger Couchtisch), stützen Sie Arm und Rücken und kreuzen Sie nicht die Beine. Exakte Werte ermitteln Sie am sichersten, wenn Sie am bloßen Arm messen. Bei leichter Bekleidung, z.b. Hemd oder Bluse können Sie auch durch den Ärmel messen. Bei eng anliegender Oberbekleidung nicht durch das Hochkrempeln der Ärmel den Arm abschnüren, sondern das Kleidungsstück ausziehen. Bei der Messung darf der Arm mit der Manschette nicht bewegt werden, um Störimpulse auf jeden Fall zu vermeiden. Drücken der Manschette oder Abknicken des Schlauches beeinflusst das Messergebnis. 18 Wichtige Hinweise D Zwischen aufeinander folgenden Messungen muss immer eine Pause von etwa 3-5 Minuten zur Vermeidung von Fehlmessungen eingelegt werden. Selbstmessung bedeutet noch keine Therapie. Verändern Sie auf keinen Fall von sich aus die vom Arzt verschriebene Dosierung der Arzneimittel. 2. Was noch zu beachten ist Armumfang Die Manschette ist auf einen Oberarmumfang von cm ausgelegt. Für größere und kleinere Armumfänge stehen spezielle Manschetten zur Verfügung (siehe Seite 24). D-18 Wichtige Hinweise Schwangerschaft Die Blutdruckwerte können durch die Schwangerschaft verändert werden. Führen Sie eine Blutdruck-Selbstkontrolle nur in Absprache mit Ihrem Arzt durch. Medikamente Verwenden Sie dieses Gerät nicht ohne vorher Ihren Arzt zu konsultieren, wenn Sie an einer Dialyse-Therapie teilnehmen oder gerinnungshemmende, anti-blutplättchenbildende Medikamente oder Steroide einnehmen. Der Einsatz eines Blutdruckmessgerätes unter diesen Bedingungen kann innere Blutungen hervorrufen (evtl. Hämatombildung). Anleitung E.indd :29:49

19 Wichtige Hinweise Versorgungssysteme Medizinische Versorgungssysteme am Messarm (z.b. Infusionen) können durch den Stau einer Manschette ihre Versorgung kurzzeitig nicht übernehmen. Unübliche Messergebnisse Jede Messung hängt zu einem großen Teil von den Umständen während der Messung ab. Oft nimmt man sich nicht die Zeit vor einer Messung um seinen Kreislauf ausreichend zu beruhigen, es werden falsche Manschettengrößen verwendet oder es wird gar während der Messung gesprochen oder sich bewegt. Siehe dazu auch Tabelle Mess- und Bedienungsfehler Seite 23. Prüfen Sie sich gegebenenfalls selbst. Haben Sie alle Bedingungen eingehalten? Nehmen Sie sich Zeit für Ihre Messung, Sie kontrollieren Ihre Gesundheit! Wenn Sie spezielle Informationen über Ihren Blutdruck wünschen, fragen Sie Ihren Arzt. Ziehen Sie niemals irgendwelche eigenen Schlüsse aufgrund Ihrer Messergebnisse. Das Gerät außer Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahren, Schläuche nicht um den Hals führen, um der Unfallgefahr einer möglichen Strangulierung vorzubeugen. 20 Was Sie über Blutdruck wissen sollten E 1. Der systolische und diastolische Blutdruckwert Herz- und Blutkreislauf haben die wichtige Aufgabe, alle Organe und Gewebe des Körpers ausreichend mit Blut zu versorgen und Stoffwechselprodukte abzutransportieren. Das Herz zieht sich dazu in regelmäßigem Rhythmus etwa mal pro Minute zusammen und dehnt sich wieder aus. Der Druck des strömenden Blutes, der beim Zusammenziehen (Kontraktion) des Herzens auf die Arterienwände entsteht wird als Systole bezeichnet. Der Druck in der darauf folgenden Erschlaffungsphase, wenn sich das Herz wieder mit Blut füllt, wird als Diastole bezeichnet. Bei Ihrer täglichen Messung ermitteln Sie beide Werte. Was Sie über Blutdruck wissen sollten 2. Warum Sie unterschiedliche Werte messen? Unser Blutdruck reagiert wie ein empfindliches Messinstrument auf äußere und innere Einflüsse. Schon geringfügige Änderungen können auf ihn einwirken. Das macht verständlich, dass häufig beim Arzt oder Apotheker gemessene Werte höher sind als jene, die Sie zuhause in gewohnter Umgebung erhalten. Aber auch Wetterumschwung, Klimawechsel, körperliche und seelische Belastungen können sich auswirken. 3. Warum regelmäßig Blutdruck messen? Auch die Tageszeit hat einen Einfluss auf die Höhe des Blutdruckes. Tagsüber sind die Werte meist höher als während der Ruhephasen in der Nacht. Einmalige und unregelmäßige Messungen sagen D-20 Anleitung E.indd :29:49

21 Was Sie über Blutdruck wissen sollten daher kaum etwas über den tatsächlichen Blutdruck aus. Eine zuverlässige Beurteilung ist nur möglich, wenn regelmäßig Einzelmessungen durchgeführt werden. Besprechen Sie die Messwerte mit Ihrem Arzt. 4. Was sind normale Blutdruckwerte? Die Weltgesundheitsorganisation (WHO) hat folgende Übersicht für die Einordnung der Blutdruckwerte zusammengestellt: Normalwert: systolischer Druck bis 119 mmhg* diastolischer Druck bis 79 mmhg Grenzwert: systolischer Druck mmhg diastolischer Druck mmhg *mmhg = Millimeter Hydragyrum (Quecksilber) **Es genügt, wenn bereits einer der Werte erhöht ist. 22 Pflege des Gerätes F 1. Reinigen und desinfizieren Reinigen Sie das Gerät nur mit einem weichen, leicht angefeuchteten Tuch und etwas Spülmittel. Flecken auf der Manschette können vorsichtig mit einem feuchten Tuch und Seifenwasser entfernt werden. Verwenden Sie kein Benzin, Verdünner oder andere starke Lösungsmittel. Manschette nicht schrubben oder in der Maschine waschen. Verwenden Sie ein synthetisches Reinigungsmittel und reiben Sie die Oberfläche sanft. Wenn das Gerät geöffnet war, muss es einer Messtechnischen Kontrolle durch eine autorisierte Institution, unterzogen werden. Für eine eventuelle Desinfektion empfehlen wir das Mittel Descosept AF, Dr. Schumacher GmbH, Melsungen. Pflege des Gerätes Die Manschette darf nicht gewaschen oder chemisch gereinigt werden. 2. Kundendienst Eine Reparatur des Gerätes darf nur durch den Hersteller oder eine ausdrücklich dazu ermächtigte Stelle erfolgen. Hersteller: UEBE Medical GmbH Zum Ottersberg 9 D Wertheim Messtechnische Kontrolle (vormals Eichung) Anhang Generell wird eine messtechnische Kontrolle im Abstand von 2 Jahren empfohlen. Fachliche Benutzer sind allerdings gemäß Medizinprodukte- Betreiberverordnung dazu angehalten. Diese kann entweder durch die UEBE Medical GmbH, eine für das Messwesen zuständige Behörde oder durch autorisierte Wartungsdienste erfolgen. 27 Anhang Herstellergarantie Das Gerät wurde mit aller Sorgfalt hergestellt und geprüft. Für den Fall, dass es trotzdem bei Auslieferung Mängel aufweisen sollte, geben wir eine Garantie zu den nachfolgenden Konditionen: 1. Während der Garantiezeit von 2 Jahren ab Kaufdatum beheben wir solche Mängel nach unserer Wahl und auf unsere Kosten durch Reparatur (nach Rücksendung in unserem Werk) oder Ersatzlieferung eines mangelfreien Gerätes. 2. Nicht unter die Garantie fallen die normale Abnutzung von Verschleißteilen oder Schäden, die durch Nichtbeachtung der Gebrauchsanleitung, unsachgemäße Handhabung (z.b. Bruch) und/oder Demontage des Gerätes durch den Käufer entstehen. Ferner werden durch die Garantie keine Schadenersatzansprüche gegen uns begründet. 3. Garantieansprüche können nur in der Garantiezeit und durch Vorlage des Kaufbeleges geltend gemacht werden. Im Garantiefall ist das Gerät zusammen mit dem Kaufbeleg und Beschreibung der Reklamation zu senden an UEBE Medical GmbH, Service-Center, Zum Schlag 18, D Wertheim. 30 Product information / Notes on use A Product information / Notes on use These directions should help the customer to use the visocor E blood pressure measuring device safely and efficiently. The device must be employed according to the processes indicated in these directions and may not be used / applied for any other purpose. It is important to read and to understand the directions as a whole. Read through the directions carefully and make yourself familiar with them, particularly the Chapter Basic rules for the determination of blood pressure. The measurement accuracy can be erroneous if absolute rest is not maintained during the measurement. Inaccurate results can occur if the blood pressure measuring device is employed with children. Consult your doctor if you wish to measure the blood pressure of a child. The visocor E is designed for non-invasive measurement of the systolic and diastolic blood pressure on the upper arm with adults. GB-30 Anleitung E.indd :29:50

31 Product information / Notes on use Important! The device is not provided with any pressure limitation above 150 mmhg, and therefore should not be employed with babies! The product is recommended for patients with unstable blood pressure or known hypertonia, for domestic utilization and for therapy support. The cuff of the standard type fits an upper arm circumference of 22 to 32 centimeters. The device registers a pressure from 0 to 300 mmhg. Measuring method This product is provided for the auscultatoric determination of the blood pressure. The blood flow is suppressed in the upper arm artery by pumping up the cuff by means of pump ball. During the ventilation procedure, pounding noises become audible over the stethoscope with the beginning of the blood flow in the artery. At the beginning of the noise the systole is determined and with the last audible sound the diastole is identified. After determination of both values the cuff can be vented completely. Putting on stethoscope Put on earpiece loops of the stethoscope, so that the earpieces sit securely in the ears. 4. Pumping up the cuff Pump up the cuff with the pump ball in the right hand until the hand of the manometer indicates a value about 30 mmhg above the systolic blood pressure value to be expected. 36 Brief instructions for measurement B 5. Measuring the blood pressure Open screw valve carefully and the indicator hand progresses slowly back. Pay attention to noise in the stethoscope. Read off systolic value with the first clear pounding sound (Fig. 1). Read off the diastolic value with the last audible sound (Fig. 2). 6. Check whether the air hose is securely inserted on the connection of the hand-operated device. 2. Putting on the cuff Expose the left arm. In case of application on the right arm, the cuff must be twisted to the left until the stethoscope membrane is on the pulse location. The air hose then runs on the inner side of the upper arm. The stethoscope membrane must be on the pulse location. The more accurately the membrane is placed on the pulse location, the louder the pulse sounds heard. 39 Operation of the device Now pull the free cuff end tight and placed it firmly over about the binder zip. Place the left arm with the cuff stretched out on a table and hold it absolutely calm during the measurement; do not speak. The palm of the hand faces upwards. 3. Putting on the stethoscope Put on earpiece loops of the stethoscope so that the earpieces sit securely in the ears. For trouble-free seating of the stethoscope, the tubes of the earpiece loop can be rotated. It is best to rotate the earpieces slightly forward. 40 Operation of the device C 4. Pumping up the cuff Take the rubber ball in the right hand and pump up the cuff with that. Pump up the cuff through further pump squeeze actions, until the hand displays a value on the scale approx. 30 mmhg above the systolic blood pressure value to be expected. In case of unknown to blood pressure values, pump up to approx. 250 mmhg. You should nevertheless hear pounding noises clearly in the stethoscope; keep on pumping until no further sounds can be heard. 5. Measuring the blood pressure Operation of the device Before the measurement: - breathe deeply 2-3 times and relax - do not move - do not speak - do not tighten your arm during measurement - breathe calmly Open screw valve carefully. The hand of the manometer moves slowly back. Adjust the screw valve in a way that the air-venting speed keeps the recommendation of 2-3 mmhg / second. GB-40 Anleitung E.indd :29:51

41 Operation of the device Now observe exactly the indicator hand progression on the scale and pay attention to the noises that you hear in the stethoscope. With the first clear pounding sound, read off the systolic blood pressure value on the scale and note it down (Fig. 1). Listen for the rhythmic knocking in your stethoscope. With disappearance of the sound or with the last audible sound, read off the diastolic blood pressure value on the scale and also note this down (Fig. 2). Fig. 1 C Operation of the device 6. 42 Operation of the device C Before beginning a repeat measurement, you should wait three minutes until the blood circulation has normalized again. Note down the blood pressure values determined in a blood pressure pass. In this way you obtain an overview of your blood pressure situation over a longer period, which you can review with your doctor, where appropriate. Operation of the device Continuous repetitions of measurements can cause obstructions and thus lead to incorrect measured. Wait for at least 3-5 minutes between the measurements. 43 Important notes 1. Basic rules for the determination of the blood pressure The measurement must be taken at rest. Moving about or ascending stairs increases the blood pressure. Wait at least 5 minutes until your circulation has calmed. Check the blood pressure twice daily - in the morning after rising and in the evening, when you have relaxed after work. The blood pressure must be measured in the sitting position. For the measurement, sit at your dining table (under no circumstances at a low coffee table) as relaxed and straight positioned as possible, where the arm and back are support and the legs are not crossed. You can best determine exact values if you make measurements on the bare arm. In case of light clothing e.g. shirt or blouse, you can also measure through the sleeve. In case of close-fitting outerwear, do not restrict the arm by rolling up of the sleeves, rather take off the garment. During the measurement, the arm with the cuff must not be moved under any circumstances in order to avoid interference pulses. 44 Important notes D Between successive measurements a pause of approx. 3-5 minutes must always be inserted in order to avoid faulty measurements. Self-measurement does not mean therapy. Under no circumstances change any dosing of drugs prescribed by a doctor. 2. What is still to be considered Important notes Arm circumference The cuff is designed for an upper arm circumference of cm. Special cuffs are available for larger and smaller arm circumferences (see page 51). Pregnancy The blood pressure values can be changed by pregnancy. Carry out a blood pressure self-check only in discussion with your doctor. Medication Do not employ this device without consulting your doctor beforehand if you are participating in a dialysis therapy or if you take anti-coagulant, anti- GB-44 Anleitung E.indd :29:51

45 Important notes blood-platelet-forming medication or steroids. The employment of a blood pressure measuring device under these conditions can cause inner hemorrhages (possible haematom formation). Supply systems Medical supply systems on the measured arm (e.g. infusions) cannot continue their supply on a short-term basis through the restriction caused by the cuff. Unusual results of measurement Every measurement depends for the most part on the circumstances during the measurement. Often, enough time is not taken before a measurement in order to allow the circulation to calm sufficiently, or incorrect cuff sizes are employed or even movement or speech occurs during the measurement. See also table measurement and operating faults; Page 50. Where appropriate, make a check on yourself. Did you comply with all the conditions? 47 What you should know about blood pressure 1. The systolic and diastolic blood pressure value Heart and blood circulation has the important task of supplying all organs and tissues of the body sufficiently with blood and of transporting away products of metabolism. For this purpose, the heart contracts and expands again approx times per minute in a regular rhythm. The pressure of the flowing blood which results at the artery walls from the contraction of the heart is designated as a systole. The pressure in the following relaxation phase, when the heart is filled with blood again, is designated as a diastole. With your daily measurement, you determine both values. 2. Why measure different values? Our blood pressure reacts as a sensitive instrument to external and internal influences. Even insignificant changes can have an effect. That makes it understandable why values measured by the doctor or chemist are frequently higher than those taken at home in your usual environment. However, weather changes, change of climate, physical and psychological pressures can also have an effect. 3. Why measure blood pressure regularly? The time of day also has an influence on the level of the blood pressure. During the day, the values are mostly higher than during the rest phase at night. 48 What you should know about blood pressure E One-time and irregular measurements therefore give no real indication of the actual blood pressure. A reliable evaluation is possible only if single measurements are carried out regularly. Review the measured values with your doctor. What you should know about blood pressure 4. 49 Care of the device 1. Disinfecting and cleaning Clean the device with a soft, slightly moistened cloth and some cleaning agent only. Stains on the cuff can be removed carefully with a moist cloth and soapy water. Employ no benzene, paint thinner or other strong solvents. Do not scrub the cuff or wash the cuff in a washing machine. Employ a synthetic cleaning agent and scrape the surface gently. If the device has been opened, it must be subjected to a measurement-technical control check through an authorized institution. For possible disinfection, we recommend the agent Descosept AF, Dr. Schumacher GmbH, Melsungen. The cuff must not be washed or cleaned chemically. 2. Customer service A repair of the device may be implemented only by the manufacturer or other agency explicitly authorized for this. For the case that, in spite of this, defects should be indicated on delivery, we issue a guarantee with the following conditions: 1. During the guarantee period of 2 years from purchase date we remedy such defects, in accordance with our choice and at our own expense, through repair (sending back to our works) or through replacement delivery of a defect-free device. 2.
