METEC wins visitors over with its concentration of expertise and state-of-the-art innovations in metallurgical process technology. METEC is the top event for machines, plants and equipment for raw iron, steel and non-ferrous metal production. This is the meeting place for metallurgists and metallurgical experts, who not only give sophisticated properties to that age-old material, steel. This is because smelting technology can only perform in sophisticated industrial areas using modern high-quality materials. Materials, which are newly developed based on steel or non-ferrous metal, offer considerable growth potential such as in light construction in the automotive sector. Initiative für mehr Nachhaltigkeit! ecometals The aim of the ecometals initiative, launched by Messe Düsseldorf, is to promote responsible, environmentally aware business practices of companies that introduce innovative products and processes for the first time. Its main focus are outstanding innovations and key technologies which contribute to environmental, energy and resource efficiency. Thanks to ecometals, visitors enjoy the advantage that they can easily recognise the corresponding exhibits by the ecometals logo and can thus plan their trade fair visit. Mit der von der Messe Düsseldorf ins Leben gerufenen Initiative ecometals wird verantwortungs volles, umweltbewusstes Handeln von Unternehmen gefördert, die innovative Produkte und Verfahren erstmalig vorstellen. METEC European Steel Technology and Application Days ( ESTAD), from June 2015, is the industry meeting on the topics of raw materials, refractories, coking plants, smelting furnaces, iron and steel production. 8 th European Metallurgical Conference, EMC, from June 2015, is the communication platform for experts in non-ferrous metallurgy. Per invitation of GDMB, the conference deals with light metals, copper, metallurgical process technology, recycling and sustainability. The accompanying Trade Conference Lead-Zinc on the topic of lead and zinc (Pb Zn 2015), from June 2015, deals with metal extraction as well as with processing concepts.
