5 Die absolute formale Reduktion der ersten Nimbus LED.next Leuchten stellt bis heute den Archetypen der minimalistischen LED Leuchte dar. The absolute formal reduction of the first Nimbus LED luminaires still constitutes the archetype of the minimalistic LED luminaire up until today. Since back in 2006, the Modul Q 36 has combined hitherto unique design elements such as precision-milled matt acrylic glass with our patented conical indentations for perfect glare suppression and optimal light efficiency. All Nimbus LED.next luminaires represent the result of integral product development which incorporates all technical and formal design aspects. When all this comes together in an inimitably elegant design, the result is a genuine Nimbus original.

The light of the future: Back in 2007, NRC Nimbus Research Company was founded as a Nimbus Group subsidiary with the objective of making headway with the many and varied challenges and tasks surrounding technological development in connection with the use of LED lighting in architecture. Development focuses on the constant energy-related optimization of Nimbus LED.next luminaires (e.g. the new Office Air LED which works with just 45 watt), the development of intelligent, electronic light control (IQ technology) as well as on ways of directly supplying luminaires by means of renewable energy systems.

25 Beim internationalen Solar Decathlon Wettbewerb 2010 entwickel te die Nimbus Research Company zusammen mit der Hochschule Rosenheim und der Bergischen Universität Wuppertal neuartige und zukunftsweisende Lichtkonzepte. Das Ergebnis: Die Lichtkonzepte wurden von der Spanischen ADPI Lighting Association mit Platz 1 und Platz 2 bewertet. At the international Solar Decathlon competition in 2010, the Nimbus Research Company developed new and future-oriented light concepts together with the Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences and the University of Wuppertal. The result: the Spanish ADPI Lighting Association awarded first and second places to the light concepts.

Die spektakulären LED Lichtringe im Atrium mit einem Durchmesser von 7 m und 10 m sind eine aufwändige Sonderentwicklung der Nimbus Group. With over 3,000 LED.next luminaires, the Unilever headquarters is currently the largest office building to have been almost exclusively fitted with Nimbus LED luminaires. The spectacular LED rings of light in the atrium, with diameters of 7 m and 10 m, are a sophisticated special development by the Nimbus Group.

76 74 WEITER GESTEIGERTE EFFIZIENZ EVEN HIGHER EFFICIENCY OFFICE AIR LED 45/99 WATT Die Erfahrung von über realisierten LED Projekten darunter auch die Unilever Hauptverwaltung in Hamburg und unsere gesamte LED-Entwicklungs-Kompetenz sind in die neue Office Air LED 45/99 Watt eingeflossen. Während die formale Gestaltung und die typische Ausprägung der neuen Office Air LED 45/99 Watt unverändert blieb, wurde die komplette LED-Lichttechnik im Inneren völlig neu entwickelt. Bereits 2009 definierte die Office Air LED den Begriff der Büroarbeitsplatzleuchte von Grund auf neu. Als weltweit erstes Modell brach die Office Air LED mit den bisherigen Stehleuchten-Prinzipien und eröffnete durch die konsequente Trennung von Task Light (Direktlicht) und Ambient Light (Indirektlicht) neue, richtungsweisende Anwendungsmöglichkeiten. Bis zu 80 % Energieeinsparung: Bei der Office Air LED wird die Beleuchtungsstärke von 500 lux ausschließlich über den Direktlichtanteil realisiert: Die Leuchte benötigt im Efficiency-Mode (Normalbetrieb mit Direktlichtanteil), der ausreicht einen Arbeitsplatz optimal auszuleuchten, lediglich 45 Watt. Dies führt zu einer Energieeinsparung von bis zu 80 % im Vergleich zu konventionellen Arbeitsplatzleuchten. Bei zugeschaltetem Indirektlichtanteil (Ambient Light zur zusätzlichen atmosphärischen Raumaufhellung) beträgt die Anschlussleistung lediglich 99 Watt. The experience we have gathered in over 5,000 LED projects including the Unilever headquarters in Hamburg and all our expertise in LED development have been channelled into the new Office Air LED 45/99 watt. Whereas the formal design and the typical character of the new Office Air LED 45/99 watt have remained unchanged, the entire LED lighting technology on the inside has undergone complete redevelopment. Since back in 2009, the Office Air LED has given the term office workplace luminaire a completely new meaning. The Office Air LED was the first model to break with the principles which previously applied to floor-standing luminaires, thereby opening up new trendsetting application possibilities with its strict separation of task light (direct light) and ambient light (indirect light). Up to 80 % energy saving: With the OA LED, the 500 lux of illuminance are realised exclusively via the direct lighting: in the efficiency mode (normal operation with direct light) which is sufficient to provide ideal workplace lighting the luminaire requires a mere 45 watt. This results in an energy saving of up to 80 % in comparison to conventional workplace luminaires. When the indirect light (ambient light for additional atmospheric brightness) is switched on, the luminaire consumes just 99 watt.

79 77 Bereits 2013 wird seitens des Gesetzgebers durch die zweite Stufe der Ökodesign- Richtlinie (2009/125/EG) der maximale Standby-Verbrauch bei Leuchten auf 0,5 Watt begrenzt. Die Nimbus Office Air LED unterbietet diesen Grenzwert schon heute: Mit einem Standby-Verbrauch von < 0,5 Watt bei der PDLS.next und der dimmbaren Ausführung setzt die Office Air LED neue Maßstäbe in Sachen Energieeffizienz. Die neue Office Air LED 45/99 Watt verfügt über die erweiterte PDLS.next Funktion: Der Tageslichtsensor ermittelt stetig das Umgebungslicht und regelt kontinuierlich nach, sodass ein konstantes Helligkeitsniveau erreicht wird. Erstmals kann der Nutzer sein persönlich als angenehm empfundenes Helligkeitsniveau individuell durch Auf- und Abdimmen an der Leuchte einstellen. Die automatische Helligkeitsregulierung ist hierbei stets aktiv. Der persönlich eingestellte Wert bleibt auch nach dem Ausschalten der Leuchte gespeichert. As early as 2013, legislators are set to limit maximum standby consumption for lamps to 0.5 watt in the second stage of the Ecodesign Directive (2009/125/EC). The Nimbus Office Air LED already tops this requirement: with a standby consumption of < 0.5 watt in the PDLS.next or dimmable version, the Office Air LED sets new standards in terms of energy efficiency. The new Office Air LED 45/99 watt is already equipped with the extended PDLS.next function: The ambient light sensor constantly detects the level of ambient light and continuously adjusts the level of light emitted so that a constant level of brightness is achieved. For the first time, users can set the light intensity to suit their own personal comfort, individually and intuitively on the luminaire, whereby the automatic brightness control function remains active. The personal setting remains in the memory even when the luminaire has been switched off.
