7 Reference number 230/1/07 / Business with a Cause Young Europeans Developing Sustainopreneurship On the Lisbon Council of March 2000 it was agreed that the European Union is to become the most competitive and dynamic knowledge-based society in the world, capable of sustainable economic growth with more and better jobs and greater social cohesion. If Europe wants to be economically successful, its policy has to stir competitiveness, job creation, innovation and growth. Entrepreneurship and social responsibility are keys to achieve those goals. Whereas Europe needs entrepreneurs with social responsibility, its education rarely succeeds to stimulate and foster this entrepreneurial spirit. Therefore this Intensive Program intends to bring together creative bachelor students from different disciplines, who have a feeling for sustainopreneurship, but who cannot develop these skills in their schooling. We offer them the opportunity to enhance that entrepreneurial spirit by training the skills and developing the essential characteristics for successful entrepreneurship within a European context, and by bring them into contact with fellow students having the same drive but coming from different cultural backgrounds. Entrepreneurs will participate actively in the IP, which focuses on practical student activity, coached by experienced staff. Output: well-grounded future entrepreneurs, printed materials and expertise useful to the curricula of the partner universities, lasting contacts between participants via the web and hopefully a virtual business plan implemented into a real enterprise. As the IP constitutes an integrated course within the Joint-Masterprogramme Creole, its main target groups are postgraduate students (MA level and PhD). The IP will use the website as working and communication platform. The use of blended learning (ICT), interactive work in plenary sessions, and supervised small student working groups will structure the main activities. Expected outputs of the IP (reading lists, text compilations, student reports) will be disseminated on the website. Information will be produced via newsletters such as the one of the European professional association (EASA).
