4 Additional instructions 1 Additional instructions The additional instructions for the use in potentially explosive environments describe the entire life cycle of the device. Keep these instructions in a location which is easily accessible to every user and make these instructions available to every new owner of the device. Important safety information. Read the additional instructions carefully and thoroughly. Study in particular the chapters entitled Particular safety instructions and Authorized use. The additional instructions must be read and understood. The additional instructions describe safety instructions and information for the use of the control units in a potentially explosive environment. All other descriptions and information can be found in the respective operating instructions of the devices. 5 Authorized use 3 Authorized use Incorrect use of the control unit can be dangerous to people, nearby equipment and the environment. The device is designed to be mounted on pneumatic actuators of process valves for the control of media. The device was designed for the use in: - Type 8690 PX16 Explosion group II, category 2G Ex ia, T* and explosion group II, category 2D Ex ia, IP64, T135 C - Type 8690 up to 8696 and 8798 PX03 Explosion group II, category 3G Ex na, T4 and explosion group II, category 3D Ex tc, IP65/67, T135 C (see information listed on the sticker for the approval). The device is mounted onto a pneumatic actuator of a process valve. The process valve and the actuator must have at least the Ex approval of the control unit. During use observe the admissible data, the operating conditions and conditions of use specified in the contract documents, operating instructions and on the type label - of the control unit and - the process valve. Use the device only in conjunction with third-party devices and components recommended and authorized by Bürkert. Correct transportation, storage and installation, as well as careful use and maintenance are essential for reliable and faultless operation. Use the device only for its intended purpose. 3.1 Restrictions If exporting the system/device, observe any existing restrictions. 3.2 Identification (V code) PXxx The identification (V code) PX03 or PX16 is on the type label of the device. Secure cable connections, which use circular plugs, with suitable locking clips. For example: EXCLIP, FA. Phoenix Contact, Type SAC-M12-EXCLIP-M, Art. no or Type SAC-M12-EXCLIP-F, Art. no or locking clips, FA. ESCHA locking clip M8 x 1, Art. no locking clip M12 x 1, Art. no Remove electric circular plug only after the power supply has been disconnected. Risk of explosion when opening the device. Open device only when no Ex atmosphere is present. During the installation and setting of the proximity switches, no Ex atmosphere may be present. Prior to start-up, secure the transparent cap against being opened without tools by using the enclosed locking wire. Risk of explosion due to electrostatic discharge. In the event of a sudden discharge from electrostatically charged devices or individuals, there is a risk of an explosion in the explosion-risk area. Ground body casing to visible stainless steel surface before start-up using the supplied clirclip (devices with visible stainless steel surface). Take suitable measures to ensure that no electrostatic discharges can build up in the explosion-risk area. Clean the device surface by gently wiping it with a damp or antistatic cloth only. Danger! To prevent the risk of explosion, observe not only the safety instructions in the operating instructions for operation in the explosion-risk area, but also the following: Observe information on temperature class, ambient temperature, degree of protection and voltage on the approval sticker. Do not use devices in areas where there is gas or dust with a lower ignition temperature than indicated on the approval sticker. Installation, operation and maintenance may be performed by qualified technicians only. Observe the applicable safety regulations (also national safety regulations) as well as the general rules of technology for construction and operation. Do not repair the device yourself, but replace it with an equivalent device. Repairs may be performed by the manufacturer only. Do not expose the device to any mechanical and/or thermal loads which will exceed the limits described in the operating instructions. Use only cable and line entry points which have been approved for the respective application area and which have been screwed into place according to the associated installation instructions. The cable glands shall only be used for fixed installations. 6 English

7 Particular safety instructions Close all unnecessary cable glands with lock screws approved for the explosions area. The required degree of protection (min. IP64) is only guaranteed in connection with suitable adaption sets. All pneumatic and electrical connections must be equipped with suitable connectors. 4.1 Instructions on operation in an explosion-risk (Ex) area Safety instructions For operation in an explosion-risk area zone (gas) 1 and 2, the following applies: Danger! Risk of explosion caused by electrostatic charge. In the event of a sudden discharge from electrostatically charged devices or individuals, there is a risk of an explosion in the explosion-risk area. Take suitable measures to ensure that no electrostatic discharges can build up in the explosion-risk area. 10 Particular safety instructions 4.2 Installation of locking wire and grounding of body casing Danger! Risk of explosion when opening the device. Open device only when no Ex atmosphere is present. Prior to start-up, secure the transparent cap against being opened without tools by using the enclosed locking wire. 11 Particular safety instructions Procedure: Mount screw, clirclip and fastening element. Push locking wire through the bore of the transparent cap. Push locking wire through fastening element and pull it tight. Tighten screw on the fastening element and clamp locking wire. Danger! Risk of explosion due to electrostatic discharge. Ground the metal surface of devices which have a body casing made of stainless steel (Type 8691, 8692, 8693, 8694, 8695, 8696, 8798). Use a suitable cable shoe for grounding. The device Type 8697 may be used only in combination with the valve types released by Bürkert, otherwise the explosion protection approval will be terminated! If you make unauthorized changes to the system, the modules or components, the explosion protection approval will also be void. 16 Zusatzanleitung 1 Zusatzanleitung Die Zusatzanleitung für den Einsatz in explosionsgefährdeten Bereichen beschreibt den gesamten Lebenszyklus des Geräts. Bewahren Sie diese Anleitung so auf, dass sie für jeden Benutzer gut zugänglich ist und jedem neuen Eigentümer des Geräts wieder zur Verfügung steht. Wichtige Informationen zur Sicherheit. Lesen Sie die zusätzliche Anleitung sorgfältig durch. Beachten Sie vor allem die Kapitel Besondere Sicherheitshinweise und Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung. 17 Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung 3 BestimmungsgemäSSe Verwendung Bei nicht bestimmungsgemäßem Einsatz der jeweiligen Ansteuerung können Gefahren für Personen, Anlagen in der Umgebung und die Umwelt entstehen. Das Gerät ist für den Anbau an pneumatische Antriebe von Prozessventilen zur Steuerung und Regelung von Medien konzipiert. Das Gerät wurde für den Einsatz in: - Typ 8690 PX16 Explosionsgruppe II, Kategorie 2G Ex ia, T* und Explosionsgruppe II, Kategorie 2D Ex ia, IP64 T135 C, - Typ 8690 bis 8696 und 8798 PX03 Explosionsgruppe II, Kategorie 3G Ex na, T4 und Explosionsgruppe II, Kategorie 3D Ex tc, IP65/67 T135 C konzipiert (siehe Angaben auf dem Klebeschild für Zulassung). Das Gerät wird auf einen pneumatischen Antrieb eines Prozessventils montiert. Dabei muss das Prozessventil und der Antrieb mindestens die Ex-Zulassung der Ansteuerung haben. Für den Einsatz die zulässigen Daten, Betriebs- und Einsatzbedingungen beachten, die in den Vertragsdokumenten, der Bedienungsanleitung und auf dem Typschild - der Ansteuerungen und - des Prozessventils spezifiziert sind. Das Gerät nur in Verbindung mit von Bürkert empfohlenen bzw. zugelassenen Fremdgeräten und -komponenten einsetzen. Voraussetzungen für den sicheren und einwandfreien Betrieb sind sachgemäßer Transport, sachgemäße Lagerung und Installation sowie sorgfältige Bedienung und Instandhaltung. Gerät nur bestimmungsgemäß einsetzen. 3.1 Beschränkungen Beachten Sie bei der Ausfuhr des Systems/Geräts gegebenenfalls bestehende Beschränkungen. 3.2 Kennzeichung (V-Code) PXxx Die Kennzeichnung (V-Code) PX03 oder PX16 befindet sich auf dem Typschild des Geräts. Kabelanschlüsse, die über Rundstecker ausgeführt sind, mit geeigneten Sicherungsclips sichern. Zum Beispiel: EXCLIP, FA. Phoenix Contact, Typ SAC-M12-EXCLIP-M, Art.-Nr bzw. Typ SAC-M12-EXCLIP-F, Art.-Nr oder Sicherungsclips, FA. ESCHA Sicherungsclip M8 x 1, Art.-Nr Sicherungsclip M12 x 1, Art.-Nr Elektrischen Rundstecker nur bei abgeschalteter Spannung abziehen. Explosionsgefahr beim Öffnen des Geräts. Gerät nur öffnen, wenn keine Ex-Atmosphäre vorhanden ist. Während der Installation und Einstellen der Näherungsschalter darf keine Ex-Atmosphäre vorhanden sein. Klarsichthaube vor der Inbetriebnahme mit mitgeliefertem Verrieglungsdraht gegen werkzeugloses Öffnen sichern. Explosionsgefahr durch elektrostatische Entladung. Bei plötzlicher Entladung elektrostatisch aufgeladener Geräte oder Personen besteht im Ex-Bereich Explosionsgefahr. Gehäusemantel mit Edelstahlsichtfläche vor der Inbetriebnahme mit mitgeliefertem Befestigungslelement erden (Geräte mit Edelstahlsichtfläche). Durch geeignete Maßnahmen sicherstellen, dass es im Ex-Bereich zu keinen elektrostatischen Aufladungen kommen kann. Geräteoberfläche nur durch leichtes Abwischen mit einem feuchten oder antistatischen Tuch reinigen. Gefahr! Zur Vermeidung der Explosionsgefahr muss für den Betrieb im Ex-Bereich, zusätzlich zu den Sicherheitshinweisen in der Bedienungsanleitung, folgendes beachtet werden: Angaben zu Temperaturklasse, Umgebungstemperatur, Schutzart und Spannung auf dem Klebeschild für Zulassung beachten. Geräte nicht bei Gasen bzw. Stäuben einsetzen, die eine niedrigere Zündtemperatur besitzen als auf dem Klebeschild für Zulassung angegeben. Installation, Bedienung und Wartung darf nur qualifiziertes Fachpersonal durchführen. Die geltenden Sicherheitsvorschriften (auch nationale Sicherheitsvorschriften) sowie die allgemeinen Regeln der Technik, beim Errichten und Betreiben, einhalten. Gerät nicht selbst reparieren, sondern durch ein gleichwertiges Gerät ersetzen. Reparaturen darf nur der Hersteller durchführen. Das Gerät keinen mechanischen und/oder thermischen Beanspruchungen aussetzen, welche die in der Bedienungsanleitung beschriebenen Grenzen überschreiten. 18 deutsch

19 Besondere Sicherheitshinweise Nur Kabel- und Leitungseinführungen verwenden, die für den jeweiligen Einsatzbereich zugelassen und entsprechend der dazugehörigen Montageanleitung verschraubt sind. Die Kabelverschraubungen dürfen nur zum Einführen fest verlegter Kabel und Leitungen verwendet werden. Alle nicht benötigten Kabelverschraubungen mit Ex-zugelassenen Verschlussschrauben verschließen. Die notwendige Schutzart (mind. IP64) ist nur in Verbindung mit passenden Adaptionssets / Anbausätzen gewährleistet. Alle pneumatischen und elektrischen Anschlüsse müssen mit geeigneten Anschlusselementen versehen werden. 4.1 Hinweise für den Einsatz im Ex-Bereich Medien im Ex-Bereich Werden explosionsfähige Medien verwendet, kann dadurch eine zusätzliche Explosionsgefahr auftreten Antriebe / Ventile im Ex-Bereich Die Antriebe / Ventile können den Einsatz in explosionsfähiger Atmosphäre einschränken. Bedienungsanleitung der Antriebe / Ventile beachten Reinigung im Ex-Bereich Reinigungsmittel auf Zulassung in explosionsfähiger Atmosphäre prüfen Sicherheitshinweise Bei Einsatz im Ex-Bereich Zone (Gas) 1 und 2 gilt: Gefahr! 29 Utilisation conforme 3 Utilisation conforme L'utilisation non conforme de la unité de commande peut présenter des dangers pour les personnes, les installations proches et l'environnement. L'appareil est conçu pour être monté sur les actionneurs pneumatiques des vannes process pour la commande de fluides. L'appareil a été conçu pour utilisation dans - type 8690 PX16 : le groupe d'explosion II, catégorie 2G Ex ia, T* et le groupe d'explosion II, catégorie 2D Ex ia, IP64, T135 C - type 8690 à 8696 et 8798 PX03 : le groupe d'explosion II, catégorie 3G Ex na, T4 et le groupe d'explosion II, catégorie 3D Ex tc, IP65/67, T135 C (voir indications sur l'étiquette autocollante d'homologation). L'appareil se monte sur l'actionneur pneumatique d'une vanne process, la vanne process et l'actionneur devant posséder au moins l'homologation Ex de la unité de commande. Lors de l'utilisation, il convient de respecter les données et conditions d'utilisation et d'exploitation admissibles spécifiées dans les documents contractuels, le manuel et la plaque signalétique - de la unité de commande et - de la vanne process. L'appareil peut être utilisé uniquement en association avec les appareils et composants étrangers recommandés et homologués par Bürkert. Les conditions pour l'utilisation sûre et parfaite sont un transport, un stockage et une installation dans les règles ainsi qu'une utilisation et une maintenance parfaites. Sécuriser les raccordements par câbles effectués à l'aide de connecteurs ronds au moyen de bagues de sécurité appropriées. Par exemple : EXCLIP, FA. Il y a risque d'explosion en cas de décharge soudaine d'appareils ou de personnes chargés d'électricité statique dans la zone présentant des risques d'explosion (zone Ex). Avant de procéder à la mise en service, mettre l enveloppe de corps avec la face visible en acier inoxydable à la terre au moyen de l élément de fixation fourni (appareils dotés d une face visible). S'assurer par des mesures appropriées de l'absence de charges électrostatiques dans la zone présentant des risques d'explosion Ne nettoyer la surface de l'appareil qu'en frottant légèrement à l'aide d'un chiffon humide ou antistatique. Danger! Pour éviter tout risque d'explosion en cas de fonctionnement dans une zone Ex, il convient, en plus des consignes de sécurité figurant dans le manuel, de respecter ce qui suit : Les indications concernant la classe de température, la température ambiante, le degré de protection et la tension mentionnés sur l'étiquette autocollante d'homologation. Ne pas utiliser les appareils en présence de gaz ou de poussières ayant une température d'inflammation inférieure à celle figurant sur l'étiquette autocollante d'homologation. Faire effectuer l'installation, la commande et la maintenance uniquement par du personnel qualifié. Respecter les consignes de sécurité en vigueur (également les consignes de sécurité nationales) ainsi que les règles générales de la technique lors de l'installation et du fonctionnement de l'appareil. Ne pas réparer l'appareil soi-même, mais le remplacer par un appareil équivalent. Faire réparer l'appareil uniquement par le fabricant. Ne pas exposer l'appareil à des contraintes mécaniques et/ou thermiques dépassant les limites stipulées dans le manuel. Le degré de protection requis (au moins IP64) est garanti uniquement en association avec les kits d'adaptation appropriés. Faire passer le fil de verrouillage dans l'élément de fixation et le tendre. Serrer la vis de l élément de fixation à fond et serrer le fil de verrouillage. Danger!
