5 Initial Situation increasing demographic disproportion decreasing birth rates, sharp rise of higher age groups increasing average age in Brandenburg/Germany/Europe raising proportion of older workforce Future-oriented companies -> have to trust in their older staff and employ more elderly people to cope with the upcoming shortage of skilled professionals Within the bounds of a forward-looking human resources policy, it is important to develop a culture of executive education which starts with the recruitment of skilled workers. 6 Aims developing a guidline with recommendations for founding and establishing a Service Center of Lifelong Learning at Potsdam University -> focussing all offers on the field of academic LL in one place knowledge transfer with European experts -> being able to set up and managed it in a sustainable manner exchange may give impulses for innovative offers and project ideas in the context of academic LL, considering the demographic change and the development of the labour market February 7, 2012 Service Center of Lifelong Learning at Potsdam University 6

8 Transfer Day Potsdam the Service Centre of Lifelong Learning is to be symbolically founded at Potsdam University by presenting the catalogue with approaches and guidelines It may activate the implementation of medium and long-term aims as defined in the list of recommendations Closing event - Innsbruck or Limburg main emphasis will be the reflection and evaluation of the achieved results and objectives feedback about cooperation, and an outlook on potential cooperation February 7, 2012 Service Center of Lifelong Learning at Potsdam University 8
