4 the invention of management Management is one of the most important inventions/innovations! Management is a social invention/innovation! focuses on how to bring people together, mobilize and organize ressources, motivate, reward, allocate, interact, communicate

Open innovation could work completely without the support of social software! (But mostly is supported by social software.)

17 enterprise 2.0 as digital innovation system Enterprises 2.0 are more or less supported and dynamised by web 2.0! e.g. blogs, wikis, clouds, dashborads, thumb up/down, expansion of range/intensity of feed back > participation > collaboration high adaptability to needs of users > more freedom of communication and interaction digital architecture and functionality are specified or modified by actors (in combination with non-digital elements) even the digital design is a result of social negotiations!

19 conclusion: enterprises 2.0 are like chameleons! able to light up different colours in dependence from environment every part is highly interactive permanent invention/modification of design ability to switch between different principles

22 final thoughts We are in the early stage of a very long innovation of organizational design ( ). The traditional, hierarchically based 20th-century model is not effective at organizing the thinking-intensive work of self-directed people ( ). We need ( ) a model that uses hierarchical decision making only for activities that need that authority ( ) but at the same time enables self-directed professionals to collaborate with their peers continuously. (Lowell Bryan Enterprise 2.0 is about people! Enterprise 2.0 is a social innovation!
