5 BACnet topaktuell und zukunftsweisend BACnet up-to-date and trend-setting Liebe Leser, Dear Reader, nach dem großartigen Erfolg der ersten Ausgabe, die an Interessierte in 45 Länder versendet wurde, freut es mich ganz besonders, Ihnen heute die vorliegende zweite Ausgabe des BACnet-Journals präsentieren zu dürfen. Pünktlich zur weltgrößten Messe für Gebäudeautomation, der ASHRAE Expo in Orlando, Florida, erwarten Sie in diesem Heft wieder interessante Informationen über BACnet-Produkte, Aktivitäten der BACnet Interest Group Europe e.v. und aktuelle Berichte zu BACnet-Projekten. Die ASHRAE-Expo ist internationaler Treffpunkt von BACnet-Interessierten aus aller Welt. Dabei gehen traditionell die Treffen der Arbeitsgruppen BMA/BTL (BACnet-Produkttests und Zertifizierungen) sowie des SSPC-135 (Spezifikation und Erweiterungen des BACnet-Standards) den eigentlichen Ausstellungen voraus. Eine europäische Delegation der BACnet Interest Group Europe e.v. wird auch dieses Jahr wieder mit Vertretern aus Russland, Asien, Australien und den USA zusammentreffen, um zukünftige Einsatzmöglichkeiten und Erweiterungen des bestehenden Standards zu diskutieren. Ein wichtiges und hochaktuelles Thema ist dabei XML und Webservices. Diese Technologien ermöglichen dem Bediener den Zugriff auf seine Anlagen mit Hilfe gängiger und weit verbreiteter Internettechnologien. Die ersten Entwürfe zu solchen Spezifikationen gehen zunächst in den so genannten Public Review, d. h. die Entwürfe werden zunächst der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt, bevor diese als Erweiterung in den Standard einfließen. Der Public Review für BACnet Web Services endete im Dezember Jeder kann Anmerkungen, Kritiken oder Ergänzungen zu den Entwürfen des SSPC 135 einsenden und damit direkten Einfluss auf zukünftige Entwicklungen nehmen auch Sie. An dieser Stelle möchte ich Sie, lieber Leser, im Namen der BACnet Interest Group Europe e.v. herzlich einladen, sich an der weiteren Gestaltung von BACnet zu beteiligen! After the success of the first edition of the European BACnet journal, which was distributed in 45 countries, it gives me great pleasure today to introduce the second edition. In time for the world s largest exhibition on building automation systems - the ASHRAE Expo in Orlando, Florida - today s issue offers a great variety of interesting articles, product presentations and reports about the latest BACnet projects. The ASHRAE Expo is the most important meeting point for BACnet experts from all over the world. Prior to the tradeshow, the meetings of the working groups BMA/BTL (product testing and certification) and SSPC-135 (specifications and enhancements of the BACnet Standard) traditionally take place. Like every year, a European delegation will again meet delegates from Russia, Asia, Australia and, of course, the USA to discuss further applications and enhancements to the existing standard. One of the most important and interesting topics is usage of XML and web services, which allow users to access facilities using standard Internet technologies. The first specification of enhancements are sent for public review. This means that drafts are presented to the public prior to approving them as a standard. The public review of BACnet Web Services enhancement ended in December Everybody, that also applies to you, may send comments or extensions to the drafts to the committee, so you are able to directly affect further enhancements and extensions of the standard. At this point I would like to cordially invite you on behalf of the BACnet Interest Group Europe! If you are interested in directly participating in further extensions of the BACnet Standard, or would just like to have a look at the working groups technique or marketing, please do not hesitate to contact the BIG-EU office in order to register for one of our next meetings. 6 BACnet Erfolgreiche Protokollanalyse in BACnet/IP-Netzwerken Successful protocol analysis BACnet in BACnet/IP networks Mit jedem BACnet-Paket wird eine eindeutige Nummer gesendet, die im Antworttelegramm wiederholt wird, so dass die Antwort eindeutig zugeordnet werden kann. Within each BACnet telegram a unique number is encoded. This number is repeated within the answer telegram, so that the sending telegram may be identified. Für die Analyse des Netzwerkverkehrs ist ein Protokoll-Analysator erforderlich. Dieser ist meist als Software z.b. auf einem Notebook lauffähig. Diese Software arbeitet nach dem Prinzip, dass ein spezieller Netzwerktreiber (Paketsniffer) die Aufzeichnung von Datenpaketen übernimmt, die dann von einer Analysatorsoftware dargestellt und ausgewertet wird. Bei der Auswahl des Zugangspunktes zum Netzwerk ist es extrem wichtig, die richtige Stelle im Netzwerk zu finden, ansonsten werden Sie evtl. nicht die gewünschten Telegramme sehen. In diesem Zusammenhang ist es wichtig zu wissen, dass die üblichen in Netzwerken eingesetzten Switches mit einer intelligenten Steuerung ausgerüstet sind, welche die Pakete bereits vorsortieren und ausschließlich an denjenigen Netzwerkanschluss senden, an den das Paket gerichtet ist. Wird an einen weiteren Anschluss des gleichen Switch der Analysator angeschlossen, so empfängt dieser nur diejenigen Telegramme, die an den Analysator selbst gesendet werden sowie zusätzlich Nachrichten an alle Teilnehmer im Netzwerk (Broadcast-Nachrichten), nicht jedoch die an oder von ei- nem benachbarten BACnet- Gerät gesendeten Telegramme, die wir ja analysieren möchten. In diesem Fall sind ein zusätzliches Gerät in Form eines Switches mit einem zusätzlichen Diagnoseanschluss, ein Hub, Switching-Hub oder ein sogenannter Network TAP (Test Access Point) sowie einige Netzwerkkabel erforderlich. Vorgehensweise bei der Analyse Sprechen Sie im Zweifelsfall alle Arbeitsschritte mit den zuständigen EDV-Administratoren ab und bitten Sie ggf. um Unterstützung, insbesondere, wenn es sich um ein Firmennetzwerk handelt. Sie vermeiden unnötige Komplikationen mit den IT- Verantwortlichen! Switch, Hub oder Network- TAP sind mit Kontroll- Leuchten ausgerüstet (Link). Prüfen Sie zunächst, ob eine Verbindung zum Netzwerk besteht (Lampe leuchtet). Stellen Sie die IP-Adresse des Analyse-PC passend zum Netzwerk ein dies ist zwar nicht zwingend erforderlich, hilft aber bei den weiteren Arbeitsschritten. Mit dem Kommando ping gefolgt von der IP-Adresse des zu beobachtenden Gerätes kann die generelle Verbindung zum Gerät geprüft werden. Nun kann der Analysator gestartet werden. In den meisten Fällen werden Sie nun eine Fülle von Netzwerkpaketen empfangen. Je nach Analysatorsoftware können Filter auf bestimmte Pakete und Ports festgelegt werden. Stellen Sie den Filter auf UDP-Telegramme und den im Projekt verwendeten BACnet-Port (im Bereich von bis 47823) ein. Nun sollten Sie ausschließlich BACnet-Telegramme empfangen. Starten Sie nun die Aufzeichnung und stellen Sie das zu überwachende Szenario nach, das Sie analysieren möchten, z.b. eine Schalthandlung, o.ä. Stoppen Sie die Paketaufzeichnung und starten Sie ggf. die Analysefunktion. Falls Sie das Zusammenspiel zwischen zwei Kommunikationspartnern untersuchen möchten, z.b. eine READ- Anfrage und die zugehörige Antwort, ist es wichtig, die beiden zusammenhängenden Telegramme (Frageund Antworttelegramm) zu finden. Mit jedem BACnet-Paket wird eine eindeutige Nummer (im Bereich von 0 bis 255), die sogenannte Invoke- ID gesendet, diese Nummer wird im Antworttelegramm wiederholt, damit die Antwort wieder eindeutig zugeordnet werden kann. Um die beidseitige Kommunikation zu überprüfen, ist es nun wichtig, die beiden zusammenhängenden Telegramme zu finden. 6

7 BACnet Typische Aufzeichnung einer BACnet-Kommunikation. Typical BACnet-communication record. For the analysis of network traffic, you will need a protocol analyzer. This is typically software running on a notebook PC. The software has two parts, a packet sniffer for recording the incoming traffic and an analyzer for displaying the traffic. The choice of the right access point to the network is extremely important, otherwise you may not see the telegrams you want to see. A regular switch works with an intelligent logic which sorts the telegrams directed to certain network-ports of the switch. Connecting the analyzer to another port on the same switch results only in access to packets directly sent to the analyzer and broadcast telegrams. You will not see telegrams directed to a neighboring BACnet device, but this is what we want to analyze. In this case another switch with an additional diagnostic port, a hub, switching hub or network TAP (test access point) and some cable are required. Processing the analysis Talk to the IT department before accessing any part of a company network and ask for support from the administrators. This dramatically reduces the risk of trouble! Switches, hubs or network TAPs are equipped with link lamps showing that a cable is connected. Check this first. Change the IP address of your analysis PC according to the network. Even though this is not required, it helps a lot when performing the following steps. Check the connection to the BACnetdevice using the command ping followed by the IP address of the device you want to analyze. Now you may start your analyzer. In most cases you will see lots of telegrams. A filter may be setup to reduce the display to only the telegrams you want to analyze. Set the filter to UDPprotocol and set the port number to the number used within the project (BACnet uses ports in the range from to 47823). Now you should only receive BACnettelegrams. Start the packet record now and reproduce the scenario you want to analyze, for example writing something to a device. Stop the recording and start the analysis function. If you want to analyze the communication between two partners, you will need to find the corresponding telegrams (question and answer telegram). Within each BACnet telegram a unique number is encoded (in the range from 0 to 255), the so called invoke- ID. This number is repeated within the answer telegram so that the sending telegram may be identified. To check for bi-directional communication, it is important to find the two corresponding telegrams with the same invoke-id. Bei der Ausstattung des beeindruckenden neuen CongressCenter Ost (CCN Ost) der NürnbergMesse ist innovative MSR- und Automationstechnik von Kieback&Peter genauso selbstverständlich wie Wireless LAN, Virtual Private Network (VPN) und fortschrittliche Ton-, Bild- und Lichttechnik. Discover a New World of Congressing! The impressive new East Congress Center (CCN East) at the Nürnberg Exhibition Center has been equipped with innovative MSR (Measuring and Control Technology) and building automation technology from Kieback&Peter, along with wireless LAN, Virtual Private Network (VPN) and advanced sound, image and lighting technology. Mit der offiziellen Eröffnung des CCN Ost im April 2005 wird der fünfte Komplex des CongressCenter Nürnberg fertig gestellt. Verglaste Passagen verbinden das CCN Ost mit den bestehenden Kongressgebäuden. Das CCN Ost wurde als sechsstöckiges Gebäude mit einer Bruttogeschossfläche von Quadratmetern realisiert. Das Erdgeschoss dient als Osteingang zum Messegelände und zum Kongresszentrum, das für Teilnehmer ausgelegt ist. Das 1. Obergeschoss beherbergt eine Multifunktionsfläche, Restaurant, Räume NürnbergMesse Das CNN Ost dient als Osteingang zur NürnbergMesse. The CNN East serves as the east entrance to the Nürnberg Fair. für Presse und Mehrzweckräume. Darüber liegen zwei Geschosse mit Tagungsräumen und ein Technikgeschoss. Das Untergeschoss erfüllt logistische Funktionen. Die MSR-Technik des Gebäudes wurde von Kieback&Peter realisiert. Geregelt werden die Gewerke Heizung, Lüftung, Kälteverbundsystem, Sanitär, Entrauchung und Elektro. Im Sanitärbereich sind Druckanlieferung, die Pumpstation und Warmwasser eingebunden. Aus dem Gewerk Elektro sind Störmeldungen der Aufzüge und Rolltreppen, eine Jalousiesteuerung und die Zeitwerterfassung der Steuerungen aufgeschaltet. Auch die Meldungen der Sprinkleranlagen werden abgegriffen. Das Kieback&Peter Regelsystem DDC3500 BACnet ist über Ethernet und die vorhandene Glasfasertechnik in das übergreifende BACnet Netzwerk integriert. Von sieben Informationsschwerpunkten werden ca Datenpunkte zur BACnet-Gebäudeleittechnik übertragen. Das Energieund Lastspitzenmanagement des Kieback&Peter-Systems senkt durch Bedarfs- und Prioritätsvorgaben den Energieverbrauch. Begehbare Doppelfassade Ein Blickfang des Gebäudes ist die gläserne, begehbare Doppelfassade. Sie gibt dem CCN nicht nur ein unverwechselbares Gesicht, sondern ist auch ein Muster für komplexe Regelungstechnik und wirtschaftlichen Anlagenbetrieb. Sonnenstrahlen unterstützen die Klimatisierung des Gebäudes, eine Überhitzung wird durch die Doppelfassade aber verhindert. Dazu ist eine Wetterstation in die Regelung integriert. Sie gibt ihre Daten unter anderem an die MSR- Technik für die Doppelfassade weiter, so dass im gesamten Gebäude unabhängig von der Wetterlage immer ein angenehmes Klima herrscht. Eine Hauptrolle spielt die Doppelfassade auch in dem außergewöhnlichen Entrauchungskonzept. Da das gesamte Gebäude als ein Brandabschnitt ausgelegt ist, reicht die Luftzufuhr über die Büro- und Tagungsräume zur Entrauchung nicht aus. Darum wurde auch die Doppelfassade einbezogen, durch die bei Bedarf die Luft nachströmen kann. Mit BACnet hat die NürnbergMesse eine hallenbezogene Aufteilung der Gebäudetechnik unterschiedlicher Hersteller verwirklicht. Neben den DDC-Systemen von Kieback&Peter wurden auch die Stationen von Honeywell, Johnson Controls, SAIA, Sauter und Siemens integriert. Diese kommunizieren über das BACnet-Protokoll mit der Leittechnik, die von der Amann GmbH realisiert wurde. Mit dem CCN Ost und Kieback&Peter ist die NürnbergMesse um eine weitere Facette attraktiver geworden. 8

9 NürnbergMesse Anwendungen Solutions Mit dem neuen Kongresszentrum CCN Ost (oben Mitte) bleibt die NürnbergMesse eine Referenz für Gebäudeautomation mit BACnet. With its new congress center, CCN East (center rear), the NürnbergMesse remains a reference for building automation with BACnet. The opening of the CCN East in April 2005, marked the completion of the fifth complex of the Nürnberg Congress Center. Glass passages connect the CCN East with the existing congress buildings. The CCN East is a six story building with a total floor space of 35,000 square meters. The ground floor serves as the east entrance to the exhibition and congress center, which can hold up to 3300 visitors. The first floor houses a restaurant, press rooms and multi-purpose rooms. The two floors above contain conference rooms and technical equipment. The basement is used for logistics. The building s MSR technology was supplied by Kieback&Peter and controls the heating, ventilation, cooling, sanitary, smoke extraction and electrical systems. The sanitary system includes pressure supply, the pump station and warm water. The electrical system covers fault detection in the lifts and escalators, control for blinds and the collection of control time values. Sprinkler system messaging was also gripped. The Kieback&Peter DDC3500 BACnet control system is integrated into the BACnet network (see BACnet network structure) via Ethernet and the existing fibre optics. Approximately 7000 datapoints from 7 information centers are transmitted to the BACnet building automation system. The energy and peak demand management of the Kieback&Peter system reduces energy consumption by calculating requirements and priorities. Accessible glass facade The building s most eyecatching feature is its double facade which is accessible and made of glass. It doesn t only give the facade an unmistakable face but is also a model for complex control technology and efficient use. The sun s rays help to heat the building, but the double facade prevents overheating. A weather station is also integrated into the control system. The weather station supplies information to the MSR technology responsible for the double facade, ensuring pleasant ambient conditions throughout the building whatever the weather. The double facade also plays a central role in the innovative smoke extraction system. Since the whole building was constructed as a fire area, the air supply in the office and conference rooms is not sufficient for smoke extraction. That s why the double facade was also included, through which the air can flow as required. With BACnet, the Nürnberg Exhibition Center has a hall oriented partition of building automation technology from different suppliers. Alongside the DDC system from Kieback&Peter, stations from Honeywell, Johnson Controls, SAIA, Sauter and Siemens were also installed. These devices communicate with the control system from Amann GmbH over the BACnet protocol. With the CCN East and Kieback&Peter, the Nürnberg Exhibition Center has gained a further attractive asset. 10 Anwendungen Solutions Hugo Boss Metzingen in offene Leittechnik gekleidet Hugo Boss Metzingen dressed in open communication system Mit zentraler Gebäudeleittechnik und BACnet regelt die Hugo Boss AG Wärme, Lüftung und Klima in ihrer Produktion und Verwaltung. Heating, ventilation and air conditioning in production and office areas of the Hugo Boss AG is controlled by a Building Management System based on BACnet. Die immer umfangreicher werdende Anzahl und die Vernetzung der bestehenden gebäudetechnischen Anlagen am Standort Metzingen veranlasste die Hugo Boss AG zur Installation einer zentralen Gebäudeleittechnik. Diese soll der gesamten Haustechnik ein gewerkeübergreifendes Hilfsmittel zum zuverlässigen und effizienten Betrieb ihrer Anlagen sein. Das Team um Planer und Betreiber entschied sich, auch im Hinblick auf kommende Erweiterungen, für eine offene Lösung mittels BACnet/IP der Neuberger Gebäudeautomation. Die Hugo Boss AG hat am Standort Metzingen neben der Verwaltung eine umfangreiche Produktion so- wie die zugehörigen Labore zur Prüfung der Rohwaren und die nötige Logistik untergebracht. Das gesamte Werksgelände ist vor den Toren von Metzingen angesiedelt. Die komplette wärmetechnische Energieversorgung basiert auf einer zentralen Erzeugung und entsprechenden dezentralen Verteilerstationen. Die Produktionsanlagen werden über zwei Hochdruckdampfkessel der Fa. Loos versorgt. Diese laufen im Verbund mit einer konventionellen 2-Kesselanlage und speisen über einen Kondensator auch Wärme in das Fernwärmenetz ein. Neben der Wärmeversorgung ist auch die Be- und Entlüftung der einzelnen Produktionsbereiche sowie die Klimatisierung der Büroflächen ein wichtiger Teil der Gesamtanlage. Nach negativen Erfahrungen mit DDC-Stationen, die nicht über offene Buskommunikation verfügen, entschied sich die Hugo Boss AG dazu, ein offenes Gebäudeleitsystem einzusetzen, mit dem die Haus- und Betriebstechnik in der Lage ist, alle Anlagen zentral zu bedienen und zu überwachen. Ferner sollen künftige Anlagenerweiterungen gewerkeübergreifend ebenfalls auf die zentrale Leittechnik aufgeschaltet werden können. Integration in bestehende Strukturen Im März 2004 erhielt Neuberger Gebäudeautomation GmbH den Auftrag zur Installation dieser Leittechnik. Die gesamte Hardware wurde in das bestehende IT- System der Hugo Boss AG integriert. Der zentrale GLT- Server ist im Hauptrechenzentrum untergebracht und wird vom hauseigenen IT- Team über ein RAS-System überwacht. Die Vernetzung der eingesetzten DDC-Stationen, größtenteils Neuberger PMC, ist ebenfalls in Abstimmung mit der IT-Abteilung vorgenommen worden, so dass hier eine komplette Integration des Leitsystems in bestehende Netzstrukturen erreicht werden konnte. Die Betriebstechnik besitzt nun ein zuverlässiges Werkzeug, mit dem sie in der Lage ist, die gesamten Anlagen von jeder Stelle des Werkes aus einzusehen. Sämtliche auf der Leittechnik ProGrafNT auflaufenden Messgrößen und Ereignisse werden in Langzeitarchiven gespeichert und stehen dem Betreiber zu Betriebsund Störanalysen langfristig zur Verfügung. Durch die Integration des Systems in die bestehenden Strukturen von Hugo Boss war eine Ankopplung des Systems an das CAFM-System BuiSy ebenfalls sehr unkompliziert realisierbar. 10

11 Anwendungen Solutions Die Hauptverwaltung der Hugo Boss AG in Metzingen entschied sich für die Installation einer zentralen Gebäudeleittechnik. Hugo Boss headquaters in Metzingen decided to install an open Building Management System. Due to the increasing number of building services plants and the networking of the existing plants in Metzingen, Hugo Boss decided to install a Building Management System to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of their plants. The team of designer and operator agreed on an open solution with BACnet/ IP developed by Neuberger Gebäudeautomation, also in view of further expansions. Besides the administration building of Hugo Boss, large production plants as well as the corresponding laboratories to perform tests of the raw products and the necessary logistics are located in Metzingen. The complete heat supply is based on a central heating plant and the corresponding decentralized distribution stations. The production plants are supplied by 2 high pressure steam boilers manufactured by Loos. They work in connection with a conventional two-boiler plant and they also supply heat to the district heating system via a condenser. In addition to the heat supply, an important part of the overall plant is the ventilation of the different production areas as well as the air conditioning in the office buildings. As problems occurred with DDC stations which do not provide the open bus communication, Hugo Boss decided to introduce an open Building Management System which makes possible the central operation and monitoring of all plants of the building services installations. Furthermore, it is possible to connect future plant expansions to this Monitoring System. Integration into the existing network In March 2004, Neuberger Gebäudeautomation in Rothenburg received the order to install this Building Management System. The complete hardware has been integrated into the existing IT power system of Hugo Boss. The central BMS server is located in the main computer centre and monitored by the internal IT team via an RAS system. Networking of the used DDC stations, mainly Neuberger PMC, also had to be carried out in accordance with the IT department, so that the Building Management System could be completely integrated into the existing network. This installation enables the monitoring of all plants from all places in the company. All measured quantities and events of the ProGrafNT monitoring system are saved in longtime archives and are available to the user for operational or fault analysis. Connection of the system to the CAFM system BuiSy was no problem due to the integration of the system into the existing structures of Hugo Boss. Bei einer solchen Innovationsfreudigkeit war es nicht verwunderlich, dass man auch bei der Konzeption des neuen GLT-Systems im Herbst 2002 neue Wege ging. The CHE (Centre for University Development) awarded the TU Darmstadt the title of Best-practice University in Bearing in mind such innovative thinking, it wasn t surprising that the TU chose a new approach in its design of the new BMS in the autumn of Technische Universität Darmstadt Darmstadt University of Technology Die Sauter-Cumulus GmbH erhielt den Auftrag zur Lieferung eines SCADA- Leitsystems, welches einen nativen BACnet-Client mit an Bord hat. Eine BACnet-Implementierung unter Zwischenschaltung eines OPC-Servers mit einem OPC-Client auf Managementebene war ausdrücklich nicht erwünscht. Die TU-Darmstadt verteilt sich im wesentlichen auf die Standorte TU-Stadtmitte dort befindet sich die Management-Zentrale mit dem Sauter Managementsystem novaproopen und die am Stadtrand gelegene Liegenschaft TU-Lichtwiese, in der u.a. neue BACnet-DDC s vom Typ EYK 300 eingebaut wurden. Durch Integration der BBMD-Funktion in die Sauter-BACnet-Station kann auf externe BBMD- Router verzichtet werden. By integrating the BBMD function into the Sauter BACnet station, it is possible to dispense with external BBMD routers. Als physikalisches Medium stand das von der IT-Abteilung der TU administrierte Ethernet-Netzwerk zur Verfügung. Da sich DDC und Managementsystem in getrennten Ethernet-Segmenten befinden, wurde der Einsatz von BBMD (BACnet Broadcast Management Device) erforderlich, auf beiden Ebenen ist die BBMD-Funktionalität vollumfänglich als Software integriert. Standard Ethernet-Router sperren zur Begrenzung des Datenaufkommens sogenannte Broadcast-Telegramme (Nachrichten an alle). Diese sind jedoch wichtiger Bestandteil des BACnet- Datentransfers. Durch den Einsatz der BBMD-Router werden diese Telegramme verpackt und im anderen Netzsegment wieder in Broadcast-Telegramme aufgelöst. Auch bereits bestehende DDC-Systeme des Wettbewerbs sowie ein BACnet/ LON-Gateway wurden über BACnet/IP auf das Sauter- Leitsystem aufgeschaltet. In dieser Multivendor-Umgebung kam dem BACnet- Projektierungstool EDE- File zur Übergabe der Engineering-Daten eine entscheidende Bedeutung zu. Eine besondere Herausforderung war für Sauter die Einbindung des Hörsaalbelegungsprogramms in die BACnet-Struktur. Die Belegungszeiten werden von der TU-Verwaltung in ein spezielles File eingepflegt, an einen vom Management-System unabhängigen zweiten BACnet-Client übergeben und von dort in die Schedule-Objekte der BACnet-Stationen übertragen. Neben dem Kommunikationsprotokoll BACnet auf der Automationsebene waren auch hier bewährte Protokolle der Feldebene zur Aufschaltung von Zählern und Pumpen zu realisieren. Hierzu hat Sauter die Familie der BACnet-Automationsstationen erweitert um die Station EYK230, die neben ihrer Funktion als Kompakt- DDC zusätzlich Variablen mit Fremdsystemen austauschen und an BACnet weitergeben kann. 12

13 Anwendungen Solutions Das Gebäudemanagement der TU Darmstadt konzentriert sich auf die Bereiche Innenstadt und Lichtwiese. Building automation of TU Darmstadt is concentrated in the locations of Innenstadt and Lichtwiese. Sauter-Cumulus GmbH won the order to supply a SCADA automation system with a native BACnet client. The customer expressly requested something other than a BACnet implementation using an OPC server with an OPC client on the management level. In the main, the TU Darmstadt is concentrated in two locations: the centre of town Zwei BACnet-Stationen mit Schnittstellen zur Feldebene. Two BACnet stations with interfaces to the field level. where the management centre with Sauter s novapro Open management system is situated and a complex (called Lichtwiese) on the outskirts of town, in which, amongst other things, the new EYK 300 BACnet DDCs are installed. The Ethernet network administered by the IT department of the TU was available to be used as the physical medium. Because the DDC and the management system are in separate Ethernet segments, the use of BBMD (BACnet Broadcast Management Device) was required; the BBMD functionality is fully integrated as software on both levels. In order to limit the amount of data traffic, standard Ethernet routers block socalled broadcast telegrams (messages to all subscribers). These are, however, one of the main elements of BACnet data transfer. Through the use of so-called BBMD routers, these telegrams are first packaged and then unravelled again into broadcast telegrams in the other net segment. Furthermore, existing DDC systems from our competitors and a BACnet/LON gateway were linked via BACnet/IP into the Sauter management system. In this multi-vendor environment, a vital role was played by EDE File, the BACnet engineering tool which forwards the engineering data to the management level. A particular challenge for Sauter was the problem of how to incorporate the lecture-theatre occupancy program into the BACnet structure. The periods of occupancy are registered by the TU administrators in a special file, fed to a second BACnet client (which is independent of the management system) and are transferred from there to the schedule objects of the BACnet stations. Apart from the BACnet communication protocol on the automation level, proven protocols from the field level had to be implemented in this case, too, in order to connect meters and pumps. To achieve this, Sauter expanded the family of BACnet automation stations by adding the EYK 230 station, which, apart from working as a compact DDC, can also exchange variables with alien systems and forward them to BACnet. 14 Anwendungen Solutions BACnet im Technikverbund Parlamentsbauten Berlin BACnet in Berlin Parliament Buildings Technical Network Das Parlamentsgebäude Dorotheenstraße wurde besonders schnell in die zentrale Leittechnik der Parlamentsbauten Berlin eingegliedert. The Dorotheenstraße building was integrated particularly fast into the central building management system of the Berlin parliament buildings. Berlin als neue Hauptstadt erforderte die Umgestaltung und den Neubau zahlreicher Regierungsgebäude. Die Kuppel des Reichstages von dem Architekten Sir Norman Foster, aber auch die neue Architektur am Spreebogen durch die Gebäude Bundeskanzleramt, Paul-Löbe-Haus und Marie-Elisabeth-Lüder-Haus haben das Stadtbild Berlins nachhaltig verändert. Neben diesen modernen Bauten mussten für den Regierungsumzug auch zahlreiche alte Regierungs- und Ministerialgebäude der ehemaligen DDR renoviert und den Bedürfnissen der Parla- mentarier angepasst werden. Die verschiedene Nutzungsart der Gebäude, aber auch die Lage der Liegenschaften in verschiedenen Stadtteilen und deren unterschiedliche technische Standards erforderten einen besonders anspruchsvollen Technikverbund. Ziel war es, die Anlagen der Heizungs-, Lüftungs- und Kältetechnik sämtlicher Parlamentsgebäude über das vorhandene Netzwerk des Deutschen Bundestages zentral zu steuern und zu überwachen. Integration als Herausforderung Ein Kernproblem der Aufgabenstellung bestand in der Vernetzung und zentralen Aufschaltung der unterschiedlichen DDC-Systeme. Hierfür suchte man ein modernes und firmenneutrales Bussystem. Aufgrund der Struktur der vorhandenen Netzwerke und der hohen Akzeptanz bei fast allen Herstellern von DDC-Systemen entschied man sich für BACnet. Darüber hinaus musste in dem sanierten Parlamentsgebäude in der Dorotheenstraße eine Heizungsregelung installiert werden, deren Optimierung nach den modernsten energetischen Gesichtspunkten erfolgt. Gefordert war ebenfalls die Anbindung an die zentrale Gebäudeleittechnik als Gewerke übergreifendes, offenes System. Den Auftrag zur Konzeption und Realisierung erhielt das Berliner Unternehmen Dieter Hein, das für diese technisch anspruchsvolle Aufgabe eine Unterstation Saia PCD2.M250 mit BACnet/IP wählte. Diese modular erweiterbare Automationsstation ermöglicht sowohl die Anbindung von zukünftigen Anlagen und Anlagenteilen sowie die Aufschaltung von Meldungen aus Fremdgewerken. Dank der Flexibilität der DDC-Lösung mit der Saia PCD2.M250 und der langjährigen Erfahrung der Firma Hein in der Gebäudeautomation konnte die Liegenschaft Dorotheenstrasse 93 in besonders kurzer Zeit reibungslos in den Technikverbund der Parlamentsbauten eingegliedert werden. Die Netzwerk-Anbindung auf der BACnet-Seite erfolgt über Standard-Ethernet nach ISO oder BACnet/IP. Mit der integrierten DDC- Unterstation können über den Gateway-Master-Kanal des Saia S-Bus weitere Unterstationen, dezentrale Peripherie oder auch Raumregelsysteme angebunden werden (siehe Beispiel-Grafik). Im vorliegenden Projekt wurde die einfache Aufschaltung der BACnet-Objekte auf die Gebäudeleittechnik, verbunden mit der freien Programmierbarkeit der integrierten Unterstation besonders geschätzt. Berlin, formerly isolated, is now the beating heart of an expanded EU and an important node linking east to west, north to south. New buildings have risen on the wreckage of the Wall: the Federal Chancellery, the Paul Löbe Building, the Marie- Elisabeth Lüder House, and the new glass cupola over the old Reichstag. All accentuate particular features of this ancient but modern metropolis, and enrich its cityscape. Like the Bundestag (formerly Reichstag) many other buildings also had to be renovated and their technical systems brought fully up to date. Today, their heating, ventilation and cooling systems are all controlled and monitored from the building management technical center in the German Bundestag. BACnet, the open communications standard, has proved itself in every respect the correct choice for the main problem of cross-linking and centrally switching many different DDC systems from diverse manufacturers. In this context, the contract to design and implement heating control in the modernized parliament building located at 93 Dorotheenstrasse was awarded to a Saia system partner: Dieter Hein GmbH & Co. Regelungstechnik-Service KG. A Saia PCD2.M250 BACnet/ IP substation was used to connect the heating system to the building management technical center. This automation station is freely programmable and capable of modular expansion. It not only allows further system components to be integrated in the future, but also enables messages to be picked up from external facilities. A smooth commissioning process and fault-free operation to date underline the fact that, with a controller from the Swiss company Saia- Burgess, satisfaction can be relied on. With the integrated DDC substation, additional substations, remote peripherals or room control systems can be tied in via the Saia S-Bus gateway-master channel (see example diagram). In this particular project, the simple intrusion of BACnet objects on the building automation system in connection with the free programmability of the integrated substations was especially valued. 16 Anwendungen Solutions Offene Systemlösung für evolutionäre Anthropologie Open System Solution to evolutionary Anthropology Die Max-Planck-Gesellschaft holt BACnet in das Institut für evolutionäre Anthropologie (EVA) nach Leipzig. The Max Planck Society calls for BACnet to be applied in its Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig. Gebäudeautomation im Max-Planck-Institut für evolutionäre Anthropologie in Leipzig gilt als Meilenstein in der offenen Kommunikation über BACnet/IP und LonTalk. Building automation in the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology at Leipzig is considered to be a milestone in open communication via BACnet/ IP and LonTalk. Für ihre Institute präferiert die Bauabteilung der Max- Planck-Gesellschaft, München, offene Systemlösungen bei der Gebäudeautomation. Erstes Projekt ist das Institut für evolutionäre Anthropologie in Leipzig. Alle auf die Gebäudeautomation geschalteten Gewerke sind interoperabel über BACnet- Gateways in das firmenneutrale Gebäudemanagement eingebunden. Die gemeinsame Visualisierung erfolgt über das Desigo Insight Managementsystem von Siemens Building Technologies (SBT). Die Bauabteilung der Max- Planck-Gesellschaft betreut rund 80 Forschungsstätten, die mit den unterschiedlichsten Lösungen im Bereich der Technischen Gebäudeausrüstung bzw. der Gebäudeautomation ausgestattet sind. Aufgrund der weltweiten Standardisierung offener Protokolle für Gebäudeautomationssysteme entschieden sich die Bauverantwortlichen schon bei der Vorplanung des Neubaus des Max- Planck-Instituts für evolutionäre Anthropologie (MPI- EVA) in Leipzig für ein offenes System mit firmenneutraler Gebäudeautomation. Zum damaligen Zeitpunkt war das BACnet-Protokoll bereits auf dem Weg von der Europa-Vornorm zum Weltstandard. Außerdem entsprach BACnet dem Wunsch des Bauherrn nach Offenheit bei der Auswahl von MSR- und GA-Fabrikaten, da auch periphere, bislang autonom arbeitende Gewerke wie Brandschutz- und Sicherheitstechnik, Zugangskontrolle sowie die EIB- Zentrale über BACnet-Gateways auf die Managementebene aufgeschaltet werden können. 16

17 Anwendungen Solutions Folgende Fremdaufschaltungen wurden realisiert: Bestehendes JCI-System im Primatenhaus des Leipziger Zoos über BACnet/ IP, ca Datenpunkte (DP), Elektrotechnik EIB mit BACnet/IP, ca. 240 Datenpunkte, Brandmeldeanlage, Einbruchmeldeanlage und Rauch- und Wärmeabzugsanlagen SIGMASYS über BACnet/IP, ca. 230 Datenpunkte, Zugangskontrollsystem ISGUS über BACnet/IP im Mithörbetrieb, 80 Datenpunkte. Durchgängig offene Systemplattform Auf Wunsch des Bauherrn wurde auch bei der Auswahl der Hardwarekomponenten größter Wert auf Offenheit bzw. Migrationsfähigkeit gelegt. Eingesetzt sind: Automationsstationen BPS mit BACnet/IP, Managementsystem Desigo Insight als BACnet- Client. Bei künftigen Erweiterungen oder Nutzungsänderungen können neue BACnet- Automationsstationen bzw. BACnet-Managementsysteme herstellerneutral und rückwirkungsfrei eingebunden werden. Obwohl es sich um ein vergleichsweise komplexes Gebäudeautomationssystem handelt, insbesondere auch durch das LON-Netzwerk in der Feldebene mit 517 LON-Knoten und rund LON- Datenpunkten, lief die Anlage von Anfang an problemlos. Begrüßt wurde vom Betreiber insbesondere der Zugewinn an Bedienkomfort, die Art der Informationsaufbereitung wie auch die Darstellung der Meldungen, auch die der Fremdgewerke, in den Grundrissen. For use in its Institutes, the building department of the Max Planck Society in Munich favors non-proprietary system solutions to cover the requirements of building automation. The first project of this kind has been implemented at the Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology (EVA) in Leipzig. All types of plant connected to the building automation and control system interoperate and are integrated into the Institute s open building management scheme via BACnet gateways. Shared visualization is accomplished via the Desigo Insight management system from Siemens Building Technologies (SBT). The building department of the Max Planck Society is in charge of about 80 research centers presently utilizing a wide variety of solutions with regard to building services plant and building automation. In view of global standardization of open protocols for building automation and control systems, the building department opted for an open system with non-proprietary building automation at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig. This decision was already made during the preplanning phase. At that time, the BACnet protocol was already on its way from a European preliminary standard to a global standard. Further, BACnet satisfied the requirements of the owners in terms of system openness, enabling them to use any brand of HVAC and BACS controls so that peripheral and previously autonomous plant, such as fire protection and security systems, access control and the EIB central station could be connected to the management level via BACnet gateways. The following thirdparty systems have been integrated: The existing JCI system installed in the city zoo s Primate house via BACnet/IP with about 1,100 datapoints (DP), EIB electrical plant with BACnet/IP and about 240 datapoints, Fire protection system, burglar alarm system and SIGMASYS smoke and heat extraction systems via BACnet/IP with about 230 datapoints, ISGUS multiuser access control system via BACnet/ IP with 80 datapoints. Fully open system platform At the request of the owners, great emphasis was placed on system openness and migration capability when it comes to the selection of hardware components. The following types of systems are installed: BPS automation stations with BACnet/IP, Desigo Insight management system as a BACnet client. In the event of future plant extensions or space usage changes, new BACnet automation stations or BACnet management systems can be integrated, independent of the vendor and with no adverse effects. Although the building automation and control system is relatively complex especially due to the LON network at the field level with 517 LON nodes and nearly 2,600 LON datapoints the plant operated flawlessly right from the start. What is especially appreciated by the owners are ease of operation, the kind of data handling and the way messages are displayed, including those from third-party plant. 18 Anwendungen Solutions Tradition und Technologie in der Universität Amsterdam Tradition and Technology at the University of Amsterdam Im historischen Deutschland-Institut am Prins Hendrikkade ist ein offenes Gebäudemanagementsystem von Delta Controls eingezogen. An open building management system built by Delta Controls has been installed, in the ancient German Institute at the Prins Hendrikkade. Die Universität Amsterdam besteht aus mehr als 200 Gebäuden. Als städtische Einrichtung mit langer Tradition ist die Universität bestrebt, diese kulturellen und historischen Verbindungen zur Stadt zu bewahren. Deshalb entschied man sich, die Universitätsgebäude umfassend aber schrittweise zu modernisieren. Im ersten Schritt sollte das Deutschland-Institut am Prins Hendrikkade renoviert werden. Neben der kompletten Innenrenovierung sollten sämtliche Heizungs-, Lüftungs- und Klima-Installationen ausgetauscht und ein neues Gebäudemanagementsystem installiert werden. Die Systemauswahl war größtenteils bestimmt durch die Offenheit des Systems, die verteilte Intelligenz, die Effizienz beim Programmieren und die Freiheit, den Standort zu wählen. BACnet als Kommunikationsprotokoll einzusetzen, erschien als bester Ansatz, besonders auch mit Blick auf künftige Entwicklungen. Das installierte Gebäudemanagementsystem (GMS) arbeitet mit nativem BACnet und stammt von Delta Controls, einem Hersteller aus Vancouver in Kanada. Mit ihrer offenen Architektur und Steuerung in Echtzeit (ORCA) bietet die in der Gebäudeautomation eingesetzte Software für Steuerungen und Workstations der Delta Controls Serie verlässliche, native BACnet Konnektivität und Funktionalität. Wenn Gebäudetechniker über das Internet die ORCAview operator workstations nutzen, können sie von oben nach unten bis hin zum einzelnen Raumthermostat native BACnet Konnektivität und Funktionalität realisieren. Das installierte GMS sichert den präzisen Betrieb und die genaue Steuerung der Heiz- und Kühlsysteme, der Frischluft- und Wasserversorgungssysteme sowie die individuelle Steuerung der VAV Systeme (Variable Air Volume) und Fan Coil Aggregate. Die BACnet Operator Workstation (OWS) steht im zentralen Kontrollraum der Universität. Mit der OWS können Aufgaben wie Software Engineering, Software- Down- und Up-Load sowie die Neuerstellung, das Editieren oder Löschen einzelner BACnet Objekte einfach erfüllt werden. Der Gebäudebetrieb wird durch die dynamische, benutzerindividuelle Grafik erleichtert, die einfach innerhalb der Software zu erstellen ist. Ein umfangreiches Reporting System zur Unterstützung des Anlagen-Managements ist ebenfalls Bestandteil der BACnet OWS. Die im OWS verwendeten grafischen Darstellungen sind ohne zusätzlichen Programmieraufwand auch als Webseiten innerhalb des ORCAwebs gespeichert, sobald die Software sie konvertiert hat. Die web-basierte Bedienung (via ORCAweb) bietet eine Navigator-Sicht, die die aktuelle Systemarchitektur zeigt und dem Anwender erlaubt, die Eigenschaften der jeweiligen BACnet Objekte zu verändern. Darüber hinaus bietet ORCAweb etliche Mieter-Funktionen, die das System bestens für den Einsatz in großen Einrichtungen mit vielen Mietern auszeichnen, die alle mit dem anlagenweiten IT-Netzwerk verbunden sind. Die Webseiten des Mieterportals zeigen jedem Mieter eine individuelle Webseite mit dem aktuellen Status der mechanischen und lichttechnischen Anlagen und Zugangssysteme ihres jeweiligen Bereichs. 18

19 Anwendungen Solutions Das Gebäudemanagementsystem im Deutschland-Institut der Universität Amsterdam arbeitet mit nativem BACnet. The Building Management System of the German Institute (University of Amsterdam) is based on native BACnet. The University of Amsterdam (UvA) is comprised of more than 200 buildings. As a city institution with a longstanding tradition, the university wished to maintain its cultural and historical ties to the city. It therefore decided to modernize the university buildings by undertaking an extensive renovation process with a phased timeline. The first step was to renovate the German Institute at the Prins Hendrikkade. In addition to a complete internal renovation and the replacement of the HVAC installations, a new building management system was to be installed. The selection of the building management system was largely determined by the openness of the system, localized intelligence, programming efficiency and freedom of operating location. Utilizing BACnet as the communication protocol was chosen as the best approach, particularly in terms of setting the standard for future phases. The installed Building Management System (BMS), based on native BACnet, originates from Delta Controls, a manufacturer located in Vancouver, Canada. Delta Controls Open Realtime Control Architecture (ORCA) series of building automation controllers and operator workstation software, delivers reliable top-tobottom native BACnet connectivity and functionality. Using ORCAview operator workstations connected via Internet, building operators can implement top-to-bottom native BACnet connectivity and functionality, right down to the individual room thermostat level. The installed BMS provides precise operation and accurate control of the heating and cooling generation systems, primary air and water distribution systems, as well as individual control of VAV (Variable Air Volume) systems and fan coil units. The BACnet Operator Workstation (OWS) is located in the central control room of the UvA. The OWS ensures that tasks such as software engineering, software downloading, uploading and the creation, editing and removal of BACnet objects are easy to handle. The building operation is facilitated by dynamic user graphics, which are freely created within the software. An extensive reports system is also setup within the BACnet OWS to help manage the facility. The same graphical representations utilized by the OWS are also stored as web pages within ORCAweb, after being converted by the software without the need for additional engineering. The Web-based operation (via ORCAweb) provides a Navigator view that displays the current system architecture and allows the operator to manipulate properties on individual BACnet objects. ORCAweb also provides several tenant functions that make it ideally suited for use in a large facility with many tenants connected to the facility-wide IT network. The tenant portal web pages allow each tenant to view a customizable web page that displays the current status of the mechanical, lighting and access systems serving their office area. Ansonsten kann es zu Interoperabilitätsproblemen kommen. To configure a working alarm management system, the Device Implementation Guidelines have to be considered. Otherwise interoperability problems may appear. Der BACnet Standard beschreibt umfassend, in welcher Art und Weise die Kommunikation zwischen einer Gebäudemanagement Software und den Automationsstationen einerseits und zwischen den Automationsstationen andererseits zu implementieren ist. Um ein hohes Maß an Interoperabilität zu gewährleisten, wird von den BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL) zusätzlich ein ständig aktualisiertes Dokument herausgegeben, die Device Implementation Guidelines. Beispiel Alarme Soll eine BACnet Workstation (B-OWS) Alarme empfangen, so ist diese Workstation in einer Empfängerliste (RecipientList) der Automationsstation (AS) einzutragen. Dies kann gemäß Standard sowohl durch Device Adresse oder Device Identifier geschehen. Weiterhin ist im Standard festgelegt, dass dieser Eintrag mit dem Dienst WriteProperty oder AddListElement vorgenommen werden kann. In den Device Implementation Guidelines steht, dass ein Server bzw. AS jeweils beide Optionen unterstützen sollte. Wird von einer AS jedoch nur eine, und zwar die andere Option unterstützt, mit der die B-OWS den Recipient einträgt, ist es ohne weiteres nicht möglich, ein funktionierendes Alarmmanagement zu konfigurieren. Problemlösung Mit etwas mehr Aufwand ist es dennoch möglich, die RecipientList so zu konfigurieren, dass die Alarmmeldungen wie erwartet versendet und empfangen werden. Mit der Kenntnis, wie und mit welchem Dienst der Eintrag auf der Seite der AS möglich ist, kann mit anderen Tools (z.b. VTS) dieser Eintrag ohne die eigentlich dafür vorgesehene B-OWS vorgenommen werden. Resümee Für BACnet basierte Projekte sollten neben dem BACnet Standard auch die Device Implementation Guidelines der BTL Bestandteil von Ausschreibungen sein. Nur so ist eine hohe Stufe der Interoperabilität erreichbar. The BACnet Standard provides a universal description for implementing communication between building-services management systems and controllers, as well as between controllers. The BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL) also regularly publishes a document - Device Implementation Guidelines - designed to help maximize interoperability. Example alarm management system If a building-services management system BACnet- Operator Workstation (B-OWS) receives alarm messages, then there should be an entry in a controller s EventNotification list of recipients. To comply with the standard, this entry can be made as a device address or a device identifier. According to the standard, this entry can also be made via the WriteProperty function or AddListElement function. The document, Device Implementation Guidelines, states that a server (controller) should support both options. If a server supports only one option (the one that B-OWS does not support) it may not be possible to configure a working alarm management system. Solution to the problem With a little effort, it is nevertheless possible to configure the RecipientList so that the alarm messages are sent and received correctly. If you are knowledgeable in implementing these services and writing recipients to an EventNotification, the entries can be made with other tools (for example, VTS) without actually allocating B-OWS. Conclusion For BACnet-based projects, only the adherence to BTL s Device Implementation Guidelines, in addition to the BACnet Standard, can guarantee a high level of interoperability.
