1 Information regarding the Nursery Schools in Kaltenkirchen Dear fellow Citizens, We would like to inform you with this brochure in your language regarding the various local nursery schools. The nine local nursery schools look after, raise and educate children from the age of 1 to 14 years. The opening times of the schools cover the period from 6.00 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. and are in accordance with the parents needs. The elementary education and upbringing which the nursery schools undertake is very important for the further scholarly progress of your child. An important part is particularly learning the German language by playing in a group with other children. This is even more successful the earlier your child visits a nursery school and the more children in the vicinity of your child, speak the German language. We therefore kindly ask you to choose from the local nursery schools, the one which offers the best opportunities for the elementary education of your child. The head teachers of the nursery schools are pleased to inform you in a personal conversation all about the respective details. In the interest of your child, make use of the this opportunity, so that your child has a good start at school. Important Notice concerning the Parents Fees You can apply for income-related benefits concerning the fees. The respective application forms and information can be obtained in your nursery school or at the local council from Mrs. Kepsch Room 9. A benefit authorisation can be calculated here in advance. In accordance to the district councils social scale, there is provision for non-income based reduction of the fees as from the 2nd child onwards. If several children from one family visit a nursery school at the same time, then there is a reduction for the 2nd child of 30% and as from the 3rd child 100%. Parents who are employed, also families where only one parent is working, can apply for tax relief concerning these fees. The tax regulations have been changed as from the tax year 2006 onwards.
