3 Delivery Components delivered by Start Interface ensure the proper start up and facilitate software development with NetDCU6. Included Components are listed in Table 1. Additionally a stable power supply 5V/2A and confection of display cable are necessary for the start up. 4 Start Up NetDCU6 Figure 1 shows the Start Interface for NetDCU6 with the position and description of connectors. 5 Configured Connectors Power Supply For operating NetDCU6 power supply of +5V has to be connected as shown in figure 1. The optional voltages Vbat and CFL-Power could be connected to NetDCU6. On Vbat a battery ( V) could be connected to buffer NetDCU6 if power supply switched off (-> Backup Battery NetDCU6). The connection Vcfl could be used to make voltage for CFL- converter (max 12V/2A) switchable and available on display connector of NetDCU6 (see HWdocumentation NetDCU6). Backup Battery NetDCU6 Standardmäßig ist auf dem Startinterface für die NetDCU6 eine 3V Litium-Batterie vorhanden. Zum Betrieb mit der NetDCU6 muss diese noch aktiviert werden. Dazu wird der Schalter 4 (siehe Abb. 1 USB Selection) auf ON gestellt. Damit wird die Batterie auf den V BAT Input der NetDCU6 geschaltet. 7 Status Indicators NetDCU6 has five LED status indicators (see figure 2). Table 2 describes the correlation between LED status indicator and status. To connect NetDCU6 direct with an other computer it is required to use the (gray) crossover Ethernet cable. Should the Ethernet connection be established by using a hub or switch their configuration determinates choice of the cable. The usage of the proper cable is signalized by the LINK-LED ( table 2 and figure 5).The pin assignment is shown in figure 6 and table 3. Page 6

10 Serial RS232 Interface 1 The serial RS232 interface 1 is connected with connector J2 on NetDCU6. Connect these interface with the desired serial line of the remote PC by using a null modem cable. The pin assignment is shown in figure 4 and table 4. 11 Serial RS232 Interface 2 The serial RS232 interface 2 is connected with connector J5 on NetDCU6. Connect these interface with the desired serial line of the remote PC by using a null modem cable. The pin assignment is shown in figure 5 and table 5. 12 Serielle RS232-Schnittstelle 3 Die serielle RS232-Schnittstelle 3 ist mit dem Stecker J7 der NetDCU6 verbunden. Diese Schnittstelle wird mit dem beigelegten Nullmodenkabel mit der gewünschten seriellen Schnittstelle des PCs verbunden. Die Anschlussbelegung wird durch Tabelle 6 und Figure 9 beschrieben. 13 USB Interface NetDCU6 has two USB ports which are aligned with a standard USB connector (Lumberg, ) on Start Interface. At the Start Interface pin 1 of each USB port is assigned by a squared pad and the counting is continuous in each row. The pin assignment is shown in table 7. 14 Zusätzlich muss der USB Port 1 als HOST-Port konfiguriert werden. Dies geschieht mittels der Schalter 1 bis 3 (siehe Abb. 1 USB Selection). Figure 11: Configuration USB Port 1 as HOST ON OFF Der USB Port 1 kann auch als USB DEVICE konfiguriert werden. Dazu wird die Einstellung der Schalter 1 bis 3 verändert (siehe Abb. 12). Der Device Port liegt dann auf dem USB Device Stecker (Lumberg, Best.: ). 16 Audio Interface All Audio interfaces on NetDCU6 are aligned to jack chassis sockets on Start Interface (Lumberg, KLBR4, 3.5mm). Matching connectors are available at Lumberg (KLS40) e.g. ( Figure 6 shows the contacting of jack chassis socket. 18 CAN2.0 Interface Die NetDCU6 wird optional mit einer CAN2.0 Schnittstelle angeboten. Der Schnittstellentreiber (PCA82C250) für den CAN-Bus ist auf dem Starterinterface enthalten (keine galvanische Trennung vorhanden). Herausgeführt wird der CAN-Bus auf einen zweireihigen 10 poligen Anschlussstecker (Rastermaß 2,54mm). Die Zählweise des Steckers wird in Figure 15 gezeigt. Figure 15: Counting of the connector Der CAN-Bus kann mit einem Abschlusswiderstand versehen werden (Standardausführung). Er hat einen Wert von 120 (Bauform: 1206). Wird der Widerstand nicht benötigt, so muss er ausgelötet werden. Tabelle 11 zeigt die Steckerbelegung der CAN2.0 Schnittstelle und in Figure 16 wird die Lage des Steckers sowie des Widerstandes gezeigt. Page 16

21 Additional Configurations To use I/O and touch interface as well as analog input ports in the following the pin assignment for these connectors is described. All these connectors are prepared for Two-Row Connectors. Pin 1 is marked by a squared pad. The row with pin 1 contains all odd-numbered pins (1, 3, 5, 7, etc.), and, corresponding to this, the row without pin 1 contains all evennumbered pins (2, 4, 6, 8, etc.). Figure 7 shows an example. 27 Display Connector The display connector is already fixed on the NETDCU6. The proper configuration of the interface is described in the hardware documentation NetDCU6. The cable that is added to the starter kit can be used to make the connection to your display. Pin 1 is marker with an arrow. Take care: before the first start up of display all hard- and software setting for the display must be configured appropriate!
