2 Übergang Bachelor- Masterstudiengang - Rückmeldung erforderlich - Bewerbungsfrist: 30. August Bewerbung mit sämtlichen Unterlagen, inkl. Bachelor-Zeugnis (das -ggf. vorläufige- Zeugnis muss bis 30. September vorliegen und kann bis Semesterbeginn nachgereicht werden!) -Falls die Bachelor-Note über 2,0 liegt, Motivationsschreiben beifügen! -Falls die Bewerbungsfrist nicht eingehalten werden kann, läuft das Bachelor-Studium weiter. Ggf. kann im folgenden Semester eine Umschreibung bereits in das 2. Fachsemester Master erfolgen! -Nach Absolvierung sämtlicher Bachelor-Prüfungen können sämtliche LV des Masterstudiums belegt werden! -Überzählige, für den Master geeignete Studienleistungen (außer VM- Praktika) können vom Bachelor- in das Master-Studium transferiert werden

6 Temporal Organisation of Courses VM1-VM3 Practicals are blocked into thirds of semesters (5 weeks each) WS 2010/11 Block I (1. third of semester) Block II (2. third of semester) Block III (3. third of semester) : Xmas holidays (VM-related and independent) lectures and seminars: 1. During the semester ( or other times of the day) 2. Parallel to practicals, blocked During the practicals, other lectures and seminars can be attended, if compatible with the experimental work

7 VM1-VM3-related practicals - Up to one AP can be done for VM1-3. In this case, the remaining 6 CP have to be acquired by additional lectures/ seminars - VM1-3 have to be selected in at least 2 (better 3) different groups - External practicals can only be used for VM1-3, if this is approved by a professor from our Dept., and if he/she provides the remaining courses and examinations - Instead of being used for VM1-3, credits for practicals can be used for VM4

8 VM1-VM3: Practicals and theoretical courses Achievements - Learning and discussing practical and theoretical course background - Experimental work, individual or in groups of two students - Oral presentation of data - Final written data report - Accompanying seminar (oral presentation of research papers) - Accompanying lecture (literature provided) (Graded) Examinations - Written (e.g. classical exams, data report ( paper ) etc.) - Oral (including short lectures with discussion, posters etc.) - Single or composite examinations

10 Verteilungsverfahren für Wahlpflichtpraktika Anmelde- und Platzvergabe für Wahlpflichtpraktika im WS 2010/11: Juli 2010 Die Anmeldungen zu den Wahlpflichtpraktika (= Aufbaupraktika (AP), Vertiefungspraktika (VP) und Fortgeschrittenenpraktika (FP)) erfolgen direkt in den Abteilungen. Einen Überblick des Semesterangebotes vermittelt die Auflistung Wahlpflichtpraktika des FB Biologie im WS 2010/11. Falls noch keine konkreten Angaben zu Auswahl bzw. Vorbesprechung gemacht sind, erhalten Sie nähere Informationen in der entsprechenden Abteilung. Dort liegen auch Listen für Sie bereit, in die Sie sich eintragen müssen. Bitte beachten Sie, dass Sie lediglich ein Praktikum pro Zeitblock absolvieren können. Wer sich für mehr als ein Praktikum angemeldet hat, ist verpflichtet, nach Erhalt eines Praktikumplatzes die anderen Anmeldungen zurückzuziehen.

17 Master Thesis VM5: Reseach Practical with Seminar, to be done in the group in which the Master Thesis will be done - Master Thesis can be started after completion of 72 (out of 90) CP - 6 (max. 8) months duration - Work on scientific research project - Written scientific report of the results ( pages; excl. supplements) - 30 CP (50% of final Master grade) (Arial 11; 1.5 line spacing recommended) - Direction (Vertiefungsrichtung) mainly determined by topic of Master Thesis
