3 Docu Performer Analysis Add-On Data Lineage 3 Introduction Starting from Release 15.0 of the Docu Performer a new add-on for the Analysis Module is available: Data Lineage. The tool comprises analyzing the mapping of all InfoObjects and fields up to a DataSource (or another defined ending point) and presenting it as Excel table. So far ABAP CDS Data Definitions, BW InfoProvider as well as HANA Repository Views are supported. The add-on has to be licensed separately. On the following pages, the function is described.

4 Docu Performer Analysis Add-On Data Lineage 4 Starting the Function Data Lineage can be opened under Analysis in the context menu of a SAP object. 1 This example illustrates how the function is carried out via the context menu of a MultiProvider. 1

5 Docu Performer Analysis Add-On Data Lineage 5 Display of the Mapping in Excel For each selected SAP object, one detailed and one summarized spreadsheet is created in Excel. The in-depth version contains the full mapping of InfoObjects and Fields covering all levels. In the more compressed spreadsheet only InfoObjects or fields of the relevant object and a list of respective ending points are displayed. The feature can be started for several SAP objects at the same time. To obtain a better overview a spreadsheet Overview is available. 1 2 This tab shows the summarized spreadsheet.. 6 Docu Performer Analysis Add-On Data Lineage 6 BW InfoProvider InfoProvider supported in BW are listed below: 7.x InfoSources Advanced DataStore Objects DataStore Objects InfoCubes MultiProvider HANA CompositeProvider InfoObjects Open Hub Destinations Fields of Advanced DataStore Objects and HANA CompositeProvider aren t supported yet in the first version. As a result, they aren t part of the created Excel file either. In the Data Lineage for BW InfoProvider the mapping of Transformations is presented in the detailed spreadsheet. In doing so, in-depth information about the mapping can be found. For instance, whether a transformation or update rule is involved or if an InfoObject, start or end routine exists. The icon indicates that a start or end routine exists for the mapping of the initial InfoObject. Defined endpoints in the mapping are: Constants Read master data from InfoObjects Read master data from DataStore Objects Read master data from Advanced DataStore Objects Expert routines DataSources No further Mapping found
