3 Welcome To Innsbruck Dear Colleagues, It is my pleasure to welcome you to Innsbruck. Minimally invasive lobectomy has become the gold standard for early stage lung cancer. The success of our VATS- Meeting in 2010 From Beginners For Beginners has encouraged us to invite you to an update. As part of this meeting, we will discuss the various minimally invasive approaches for standard procedures as well as new developments, including VATS sleeve resections, segmental resections and pneumonectomies. We will also focus on current strategies of lymph node staging and intraoperative lymph node assessment. Europe s leading VATS surgeons, Dr. Henrik J. Hansen and Dr. William S. Walker will be among the confirmed speakers. The purpose of the video contest is to spread new ideas, techniques or simple tips and tricks. Showing videos on troubleshooting might help colleagues to avoid or successfully manage life-threatening situations in the operating room.
