4 2 Introduction This document demonstrates the commissioning of Profibus DPV0 communication between AC500 and ACS800. In the example, AC500 controls drive with speed. It uses ABB Drives Profile. The reference and actual value are 16 bits. 2.1 Hardware and Software requirement: NOTICE The following configuration is used in this document. The newer version of hardware and software should work, however it should be tested by the user himself. 6 4 Configuration in Control Builder Plus 4.1 Install new Profibus slave Download the actual GSD file of RPBA-01 (DPV0) from internet. Create a new project in Control Builder Plus. Open Device Repository: Application Example AC500/Issue:

8 4.2 Configure Profibus participants Plug and add new devices Plug CM572 with pressing Plug Device button: Choose CM572_Master and action Append device, then choose RPBA-01 and pressing Add Device button: Application Example AC500/Issue:

14 5 Run the drive NOTICE Please reset the communication error on Drive before you can run the drive. For ACS800, the parameter can be set to NO to ignore the communication error. Please refer to Firmware Manual ACS800 Standard Control Program 7.x for details. To start the Drive: - Enter a value for REF_Speed, ACC (accelaration) and DEC (decelaration), - Enter 16#047E (Ready or Stop) for Control Word, - Change Control Word to 16#047F (Start). To stop the Drive: - The motor can be stopped with Control Word 16#047E.
