Es macht mir Spaß Deutschlands ewiger Student: Er ist 35 und sagt nach 11 Jahren Studium: Ich brauche sicherlich noch 4 Jahre. A Seit 11 Jahren gehört Gerd Elstner zur Freien Universität in Berlin. Nicht als Professor, nicht als Assistent. Nein. Der bärtige Mann in Jeans ist Student im 22. Semester, Fach: Tiermedizin. Elstner ist Deutschlands ewiger Student. Seine Gründe: 1 B Bis zum vierten Semester war ich fleißig. Dann bekam ich einen Job als Koch. Das hat mich zurückgeworfen. Die Professoren gucken komisch. Mich stört das nicht. Ich bin einfach nicht so schnell wie andere. Ich weiß, dass es ungewöhnlich ist, wenn man in meinem Alter noch studiert. Aber ehrlich: Mir fällt regelmäßige Arbeit schwer. Der Berliner ist ledig, lebt seit 11 Jahren im Studentenheim, zahlt 310 für sein Zimmer. Mit dem Studentenausweis bekommt er Rabatt bei Bahn und Bus, in Museen und im Kino. Nur Bafög bekommt er nicht. Das wird nach 11 Semestern gestrichen. Denn länger dauert das Studium der Tiermedizin normalerweise nicht. Elstner: Aber studieren darf man laut Gesetz so lange man will. Das kann einem keiner verbieten. Mit Jobben in den Semesterferien hält er sich über Wasser zur Zeit fährt er Taxi. Aber will er bis zum Pensionsalter studieren? Der Berliner schüttelt den Kopf: Nee, in drei bis vier Jahren ist Schluss. Aber vielleicht dauert es auch etwas länger. Denn ich studiere ja doch sehr gern Nach Maike Pannier Bunte, 41/98 CONTINUED

(2 points) [Reading Competence: 2 points] [Linguistic Competence: 0 points] Ich studiere zusammen mit Gerd in Berlin. Er ist jetzt im 22. Semester. Damit ist er Deutschlands ewiger Student, denn niemand bleibt normalerweise so lange an der Uni hängen. Ich kenne noch zwei oder drei andere Leute, die auch schon acht oder neun Jahre studieren, aber elf Jahre das ist schon eine sehr lange Zeit für ein Studium, sogar für seinen Fachbereich. Und dann ist Gerds Examen bis jetzt auch noch nicht in Sicht. Ich glaube, er braucht bestimmt noch ein paar Jahre. Er macht nur langsam Fortschritte, denn er sagt, das Studium macht ihm zur Zeit nur wenig Spaß. Und auf Dauer kostet es viel Geld. Er hat Glück, dass er bei seinem Bruder im Haus wohnen kann und keine Miete zahlen muss. So kann er von dem Geld leben, das er sich in den Semesterferien verdient. Er findet immer eine Arbeit für ein paar Monate, zum Beispiel in einem Marketing-Büro, bei einer Taxi-Firma oder in einem CallCentre. RC TURN OVER

Denn immer mehr Leute möchten im Urlaub Camping machen. Hotels und Pensionen finden sie zu geregelt: Man muss bis Uhr frühstücken, man muss ruhig sein, man muss um Uhr Abendbrot essen, man muss Camping-Urlaub ist viel unkomplizierter, billiger und man lernt schneller Leute kennen. Die Preise für Campingplätze in der Bundesrepublik sind dieses Jahr nicht teurer als letztes Jahr. In Bayern und in Baden-Württemberg sind sie sogar billiger: 21 Tage kosten dort ab 80.
