5 Das Arbeitsplatzmodul»UCON-Audio-s«Das Arbeitsplatzmodul»UCON-Audio-s«Mit dem Arbeitsplatzmodul UCON-Audio-s integrieren Sie einen Arbeitsplatz in ein CATCenter-System. Zusätzlich ist es möglich an das Arbeitsplatzmodul bis zu zwei lokale Computer anzuschließen. Das Arbeitsplatzmodul UCON-Audio-s kann in die folgenden CATCenter-Systeme integriert werden: Serie Variante(n) Bemerkung CATCenter NEO NEO 16 Die Übertragung von Audiosignalen wird unterstützt. CATCenter X2, X4, X8 Die Übertragung von Audiosignalen wird von den CATCenter-Systemen dieser Serie nicht unterstützt. 6 Installation Installation Erforderliches Zubehör Ein Twisted-Pair-Kabel der Kategorie 5 (oder höher) zum Anschluss des Arbeitsplatzmoduls UCON-Audio-s an ein CATCenter-System. Je anzuschließendem lokalen Computer ein, mit dem Computer kompatibles Target-Modul (beispielsweise CATpro2-Audio-PS/2 oder CATpro2-Audio-USB). Maximal zwei Twisted-Pair-Kabel der Kategorie 5 (oder höher) zum Anschluss von maximal zwei lokalen Computern an das Arbeitsplatzmodul. Anschluss der Geräte des lokalen Arbeitsplatzes Abbildung 1: Rückansicht des Arbeitsplatzmoduls UCON-Audio-s HINWEIS: Tastatur und Maus des lokalen Arbeitsplatzes können wahlweise über die USB- oder die PS/2-Schnittstellen des Arbeitsplatzmoduls angeschlossen werden. PS/2 Keyb.: Schließen Sie hier die PS/2-Tastatur des lokalen Arbeitsplatzes an. PS/2 Mouse: Schließen Sie hier die PS/2-Maus des lokalen Arbeitsplatzes an. USB Keyb. Schließen Sie hier die USB-Tastatur des lokalen Arbeitsplatzes an. USB Mouse: Schließen Sie hier die USB-Maus des lokalen Arbeitsplatzes an. HINWEIS: Eine USB-Maus hat bei der Eingabe Vorrang vor einer gleichzeitig angeschlossenen PS/2-Maus. Dies gilt in gleicher Weise für Tastaturen. Ein gemischter Betrieb, beispielsweise der Anschluss einer USB-Maus und einer PS/2-Tastatur wird ebenfalls unterstützt. Speaker: Schließen Sie hier die Lautsprecher der Arbeitsplatzes an. WICHTIG: Die Übertragung von Audiosignalen ist nur möglich, falls sowohl der Matrix-Switch (siehe Tabelle 1 auf Seite 2) als auch das Target-Modul für die Übertragung von Audiosignalen ausgelegt sind. Monitor: Schließen Sie hier den Monitor des lokalen Arbeitsplatzes an. 3 G&D UCON-Audio-s

7 Inbetriebnahme Anschluss der lokalen Computer HINWEIS: Verbinden Sie den bzw. die lokalen Computer mit jeweils einem Target- Modul (beispielsweise CATpro2-Audio-PS/2 oder CATpro2-Audio-USB). WICHTIG: Die Kabellänge zwischen Target-Modul und Arbeitsplatzmodul darf maximal 5 Meter betragen. CPU1: Stecken Sie hier ein als Zubehör erhältliches Twisted-Pair-Kabel der Kategorie 5 (oder höher) ein. Das andere Ende des Kabels verbinden Sie mit der Transmission- Schnittstelle des am lokalen Computer 1 angeschlossenen Target-Moduls. CPU2: Stecken Sie hier ein als Zubehör erhältliche Twisted-Pair-Kabel der Kategorie 5 (oder höher) ein. Das andere Ende des Kabels verbinden Sie mit der Transmission- Schnittstelle des am lokalen Computer 2 angeschlossenen Target-Moduls. Weitere Schnittstellen Transmission: Stecken Sie hier das als Zubehör erhältliche Twisted-Pair-Kabel der Kategorie 5 (oder höher) ein. Das andere Ende des Kabels ist mit einer Console- Schnittstelle des CATCenter-Systems zu verbinden. Main Power: Stecken Sie hier das mitgelieferte Netzkabel PowerCable-2 Standard ein. Red. Power: Optional kann über diese Buchse ein Netzteil der Power-Set 12-Serie angeschlossen werden. Hierdurch wird eine zweite, redundante Stromversorgung erreicht. LED Out: Haben Sie den Funktionsumfang des CATCenter-Systems mit der kostenpflichtigen TradeSwitch-Funktion erweitert, schließen Sie ggf. hier die optional erhältliche TS-LED-2 (Bestellnummer A ) an. Service: Schließen Sie zur Ausführung des Update-Assistenten hier ein Service- Kabel an. Inbetriebnahme Schalten Sie das Arbeitsplatzmodul über den Schalter an der Rückseite ein. TIPP: Während des System Startups des Arbeitsplatzmoduls wird Ihnen die aktuelle Hotkey-Konfiguration des CATCenter-Systems angezeigt. G&D UCON-Audio-s 4

8 Anmelden am CATCenter-System Anmelden am CATCenter-System Nach dem Abschluss des System Startups des Arbeitsplatzmoduls erscheint das Login-Fenster des CATCenter-Systems. Melden Sie sich mit Ihrem Benutzernamen und Ihrem Passwort am System an. Alternativ ist die Umschaltung auf einen der beiden lokalen Kanäle (s. u.) möglich. Kanal-Umschaltung Die Umschaltung zwischen den Kanälen der lokalen Computer und dem Kanal des CATCenter-Systems kann wahlweise über die Taster an der Frontseite des Arbeitsplatzmoduls oder über konfigurierbare Tastenkombinationen erfolgen. Umschaltung durch Verwendung der Taster Abbildung 2: Frontansicht des Arbeitsplatzmoduls So schalten Sie den Kanal durch Verwendung der Taster um: Betätigen Sie den Taster des gewünschten Kanals, um diesen zu aktivieren. Die Taster der Frontseite haben folgende Bedeutung: Taster CPU 1 CPU 2 Trans Funktion Aufschalten auf den ersten lokalen Computer Aufschalten auf den zweiten lokalen Computer Herstellen einer direkten Verbindung zum CATCenter-System 5 G&D UCON-Audio-s

9 Umschaltung mit Tastenkombinationen Kanal-Umschaltung Im Auslieferungszustand ist die Umschaltung zwischen den am Arbeitsplatzmodul angeschlossenen lokalen Rechnern und dem CATCenter-System über den Hotkey Strg und die Select-Keys F1 bis F3 möglich. WICHTIG: Der zu betätigende Hotkey wird durch die Konfiguration des CATCenter- Systems bestimmt. TIPP: Die aktuelle Hotkey-Einstellung des CATCenter-System wird nach dem Einschalten des Arbeitsplatzmoduls während des System Startups angezeigt. So schalten Sie den Kanal durch Verwendung der Tastenkombinationen um: Betätigen Sie auf der Tastatur des Arbeitsplatzes die Tastenkombination Hotkey + Select-Key: Hotkey Select-Key Funktion Strg F1 Aufschalten auf den ersten lokalen Rechner Strg F2 Aufschalten auf den zweiten lokalen Rechner Strg F3 Herstellen einer direkten Verbindung zum CATCenter-System Falls der voreingestellte Select-Key mit einer Tastenkombination eines Anwendungsprogramms kollidiert, kann diese angepasst werden. 10 Konfigurationseinstellungen Konfigurationseinstellungen Über das On-Screen-Display (OSD) des Arbeitsplatzmoduls haben Sie die Möglichkeiten den Select-Key der Tastenkombination zur Umschaltung des Kanals zu ändern sowie die Mouse Utilities auszuführen. Änderung des voreingestellten Select-Keys Falls die voreingestellte Tastenkombinationen zur Kanal-Umschaltung mit einer Tastenkombination eines eingesetzten Anwendungsprogramms kollidiert, kann die Tastenkombination des Arbeitsplatzmoduls mit dieser Einstellung angepasst werden. HINWEIS: Die im Arbeitsplatzmodul vom Anwender durchgeführten Änderungen der Standardkonfiguration sind ausschließlich für das konfigurierte Gerät gültig. Diese Einstellungen sind unabhängig von jenen des CATCenter-Systems. So ändern Sie den voreingestellten Select-Key: 1. Schalten Sie ggf. auf den ersten oder zweiten lokalen Kanal des Arbeitsplatzmoduls um (s. Seite 5). WICHTIG: Ist das Arbeitsplatzmodul auf den Kanal des CATCenter-Systems aufgeschaltet, wird das OSD des CATCenter-Systems statt jenem des Arbeitsplatzmoduls angezeigt. 2. Betätigen Sie den im CATCenter-System definierten Hotkey (Standard: Strg) und die Taste NUM zum Aufruf des OSD. 3. Verwenden Sie die Pfeiltasten Hoch und Runter der Tastatur zur Markierung der Zeile Select Key des OSDs. 4. Betätigen Sie (mehrfach) die F8-Taste, um zwischen folgenden Optionen zu wählen: Anzeige im OSD Art der Tasten 1-3: Zifferntasten 1, 2, und 3 des alphanumerischen Tastenblocks NUM1 - NUM3: Zifferntasten 1, 2 und 3 des numerischen Tastenblocks A - C: Buchstaben a, b, c der Tastatur F1 - F3: Funktionstasten F1, F2, F3 der Tastatur 5. Speichern Sie die getroffene Auswahl durch Betätigung der F2-Taste. 7 G&D UCON-Audio-s

11 PS/2-Maus aktivieren oder zurücksetzen Konfigurationseinstellungen PS/2-Mäuse unterstützen im Gegensatz zu USB-Mäusen nicht die Hot-Plug- Technik. Aus diesem Grund ist das Einstecken des PS/2-Steckers einer Maus im laufenden Betrieb zwar möglich, das Eingabegerät wird aber möglicherweise vom Target-Modul bzw. dem hieran angeschlossenen Computer nicht erkannt. Um die Aktivierung oder einen Reset der PS/2-Maus eines lokalen Computers zu erreichen, kann durch das CATCenter-System ein spezieller Befehl an den am Target-Modul angeschlossenen lokalen Rechner gesendet werden. So starten und verwenden Sie die Funktion Mouse utility: 1. Schalten Sie ggf. auf den ersten oder zweiten lokalen Kanal des Arbeitsplatzmoduls um (s. Seite 5). WICHTIG: Ist das Arbeitsplatzmodul auf den Kanal des CATCenter-Systems aufgeschaltet, wird das OSD des CATCenter-Systems statt jenem des Arbeitsplatzmoduls angezeigt. 2. Betätigen Sie den im CATCenter-System definierten Hotkey (Standard: Strg) und die Taste NUM zum Aufruf des OSD. 3. Verwenden Sie die Pfeiltasten Hoch und Runter der Tastatur zur Markierung der Zeile Mouse utility des OSDs. 4. Bereich LED Bedeutung CPU1 Active Der Kanal des lokalen Rechners 1 ist aktiv. Status Der lokale Rechner 1 ist eingeschaltet. CPU2 Active Der Kanal des lokalen Rechners 2 ist aktiv. Diese LEDs haben folgende Funktion: Bereich LED Bedeutung CPU1 gelb Port ist aktuell durch den Benutzer belegt. grün TradeSwitch-LED Verbindung zum Target-Modul CATpro2 hergestellt. Additionally, it is possible to connect up to two further local computers using the user module. PS/2 Keyb.: Connect the PS/2 keyboard of the local user module to this interface. PS/2 Mouse: Connect the PS/2 mouse of the local user module to this interface. USB Keyb. Connect the USB keyboard of the local user module to this interface. USB Mouse: Connect the USB mouse of the local user module to this interface. NOTE: Inputs of a USB mouse are prioritized over inputs of a PS/2 mouse if both types of mouse devices are connected at the same time. This also applies to keyboards. However, both USB mouse and PS/2 keyboard can be applied at the same time. Speaker: Connect the speakers of the local user module to this interface. IMPORTANT: Audio signals can only be transmitted if the matrix switch (see table 1 on page 2) as well as the target module are designed for transmitting audio signals. 21 Initiation Connecting the local computers NOTE: Connect each of the local computers to a target module (e.g. CATpro2- Audio-PS/2 or CATpro2-Audio-USB). IMPORTANT: The cable length between target module and user module may not exceed 5 metres. CPU1: Insert a category 5 (or better) twisted pair cable that is available as accessories into this interface. Connect the other end of the cable to the Transmission interface of the target module that is connected to the first local computer. CPU2: Insert a category 5 (or better) twisted pair cable that is available as accessories into this interface. Connect the other end of the cable to the Transmission interface of the target module that is connected to the second local computer. Further interfaces Transmission: Insert a category 5 (or better) twisted pair cable that is available as accessories into this interface. Connect the other end of the cable to a Console interface of the CATCenter system. Main Power: Insert the supplied PowerCable-2 Standard power cable into this interface. Red. Power: Optionally, an additional power pack (Power-Set 12 series) can be connected using this socket. This way, a second, redundant power supply is enabled. LED Out: If you have expanded the functionality of your CATCenter system by the purchasable TradeSwitch function, connect the optional TS-LED-2 (item number A ) to this interface. Service: For updates, connect a service cable to this interface. Initiation Switch on the user module using the button on the back panel. ADVICE: During the System Startup of the user module, the current hotkey configuration of the CATCenter system is displayed. G&D UCON-Audio-s 4

22 Logging on to the CATCenter system Logging on to the CATCenter system After the System Startup has been successfully carried out at the user module, the login window of the CATCenter system does appear. Log on to the system with your user name and your password. Alternatively, you can also switch to one of the two local channels (see below). Channel switching The channels of the local computers and the channel of the CATCenter system can either be accessed using the buttons on the front panel of the user module or through configurable key combinations. 23 Switching via key combinations Channel switching In the default setting it is possible to switch from the local computers that are connected to the user module to the CATCenter system using the hotkey Ctrl and the selectkeys F1 through F3. IMPORTANT: The hotkey to be pressed is defined in the config of the CATCenter system. ADVICE: The current hotkey setting of the CATCenter system is displayed during the System Startup after the user module has been switched on. How to switch the channel using key combinations: Press the key combination Hotkey + Selectkey on the keyboard of the user module: Hotkey Selectkey Function Ctrl F1 accesses the first local computer Ctrl F2 accesses the second local computer Ctrl F3 establishes a direct connection to the CAT- Center system If the preset selectkey does interfere with a key combination of another application, the key combination can be adjusted. 24 Config settings Config settings The On-Screen Display (OSD) of the user module enables you to change the selectkey of the key combination which is used to switch the channel and to carry out the Mouse Utilities. Changing the preset selectkeys In case the preset key combination to switch the channel interferes with a key combination of another applied program, the key combination of the user module can be adjusted using this setting. NOTE: The changes you have made in the default config of the user module only apply to the configured device. These settings are independent from the settings of the CATCenter system. How to change the preset selectkey: 1. Switch to the first or second local channel of the user module (s. Seite 5). IMPORTANT: If the user module accesses the channel of the CATCenter system, the OSD of the user module is no longer shown. Instead, the OSD of the CATCenter system is displayed. 2. Press the hotkey that has been defined in the CATCenter system (default: Ctrl) and the NUM key to call the OSD. 3. Use the Up and Down arrow keys to mark the row Selectkey in the OSD. 4. Press F8 (repeatedly) to select between the following options: OSD Type of keys 1-3: numeric keys 1, 2, and 3 of the alphanumeric key block NUM1 - NUM3: numeric keys 1, 2, and 3 of the alphanumeric key block A - C: letters a, b, c F1 - F3: keyboard function keys F1, F2, F3 5. 25 Activating or resetting the PS/2 mouse Config settings Unlike USB mouse devices, PS/2 mouse devices do not support hot plug technology. You can therefore insert the PS/2 plug during operation but possibly the target module or the connected computer does not detect the input device. To activate or reset the PS/2 mouse of a local computer, a special command can be sent from the CATCenter system to the local computer that is connected to the target module. How to start and use the Mouse utility function: 1. Switch to the first or second local channel of the user module (s. Seite 5). IMPORTANT: If the user module accesses the channel of the CATCenter system, the OSD of the user module is no longer shown. Instead, the OSD of the CATCenter system is displayed. 2. Press the hotkey that has been defined in the CATCenter system (default: Ctrl) and the NUM key to call the OSD. 3. Use the Up and Down arrow keys to mark the row Mouse utility in the OSD. 4.
