3 Storage and shelf life: The card must be stored in a dry place at room temperature (20-25 C) and can be used after opening until the expiry date printed on the label. Once the expiry date has passed, the quality is no longer guaranteed. If dry stored at room temperature (20-25 C), a sample on the card is stable for a maximum of three weeks. English Deutsch

4 RIDASCREEN Foodscreen Blood Collection Card Intended use: It is a tool for the collection and transport of a human capillary blood sample to the laboratory. Accessory for RIDASCREEN Spec. IgG Foodscreen. Contents: 100 x RIDASCREEN Foodscreen Blood Collection Card Procedure: 1. Remove the Blood Collection Card from the plastic bag with desiccant. Fill in the patient s name, date of blood collection and Lab ID, if applicable. Please do not use a liquid ink roller ball pen as it might "bleed" through the paper. Then open the card. The perforated circles must not come into contact with skin. 2. The collection of the capillary blood from the finger has to be performed in accordance with general hygiene rules for blood collection. Please use a suitable safety lancet for the collection of capillary blood. Drops of blood are applied to the card. The tip of the drop (not the finger) is touched to a circle. Several drops of blood could be necessary until the blood has soaked to the border of the circle. This procedure is repeated for the other circles. 3. The circles should be completely filled with blood up to the border and they should also be soaked throughout on the backside of the card (see drawing). Amount of blood required for RIDASCREEN Spec. IgG Foodscreen: a. Up to 100 allergens: 2 correctly filled circles b. Up to 200 allergens: 4 correctly filled circles c. Up to 300 allergens: 6 correctly filled circles 4. After application of the blood the card has to dry overnight at room temperature. 5. The card is folded. For storage or transportation, the card is put in the plastic bag with desiccant. That way the sample is stable for three weeks at room temperature. 6. To process the sample in the laboratory the perforated circles filled with blood are punched out; the blood is eluted and Foodscreen test is performed. The procedure for processing the Foodscreen test is described in the test kit instructions for RIDASCREEN Spec. IgG Foodscreen (A8020). Warnings and Precautions: The card is only intended to be used for human capillary blood. It is an accessory for RIDASCREEN Spec. IgG Foodscreen. Each blood collection card is for single-use only. The unfilled perforated circles on the Blood Collection Card must not be touched with the finger and must be protected against microbial contamination and moisture. The quality of the card cannot be guaranteed if the circles are contaminated. You should wear disposable gloves when punching out the dried circles filled with blood with your finger. Alternatively, the circles can be punched out with a suitable sterile object, for example the end of a pipette tip or a laboratory spatula. Blood samples and all material with which they come into contact must be treated as potentially infectious and they must be handled in accordance with the relevant national safety regulations. All components of the kit must be disposed of properly and autonomously according to the local regulations.

6 RIDASCREEN Foodscreen Blood Collection Card Anwendungsbereich: Es handelt sich um ein Mittel zum Sammeln und Transport einer humanen Kapillarblut- Probe in das Labor. Zubehör für RIDASCREEN Spec. IgG Foodscreen. Packungsinhalt: 100 x RIDASCREEN Foodscreen Blood Collection Card Durchführung: 1. Blood Collection Card aus dem Plastiktütchen mit Trockenmittel nehmen, Patientennamen, Datum der Blutentnahme und ggf. Lab-ID eintragen. Bitte verwenden Sie keinen Tintenroller, da die Tinte durch das Papier durchdrücken kann. Die perforierten Ringe dürfen nicht in Kontakt mit der Haut kommen. 2. Die Entnahme des Kapillarbluts aus dem Finger muss unter Einhaltung der allgemeinen Hygienevorschriften für Blutentnahme durchgeführt werden. Verwenden Sie zur Blutentnahme eine geeignete Sicherheitslanzette. Blutstropfen werden auf die Karte getropft. Dazu wird mit der Spitze des Blutstropfens (nicht mit dem Finger) der erste Kreis berührt. Mehrere Blutstropfen können notwendig sein, um die Kreise bis zum Rand zu füllen. Diese Prozedur wird für die anderen Kreise wiederholt. 3. Die Kreise sollten vollständig bis zum Rand mit Blut gefüllt und auch auf der Rückseite gut durchtränkt sein (siehe Skizze). Benötigte Blutmenge für RIDASCREEN Spec. IgG Foodscreen: a. bis zu 100 Allergene: 2 korrekt gefüllte Kreise b. bis zu 200 Allergene: 4 korrekt gefüllte Kreise c. bis zu 300 Allergene: 6 korrekt gefüllte Kreise 4. Nach dem Auftragen des Blutes muss die Karte über Nacht bei Raumtemperatur trocknen. 5. Die Karte wird gefaltet. Zur Lagerung oder zum Versand wird die Karte in das Plastiktütchen mit Trockenmittel gepackt. So ist die Probe bei Raumtemperatur 3 Wochen stabil. 6. Zur Bearbeitung der Probe im Labor werden die mit Blut gefüllten perforierten Kreise herausgedrückt; das Blut wird eluiert und ein Foodscreen-Test durchgeführt. Die weitere Vorgehensweise zur Durchführung des Foodscreen-Tests ist in der Testkitbeschreibung für RIDASCREEN Spec. IgG Foodscreen (A8020) beschrieben. Warnhinweise und Vorsichtsmaßnahmen: Die Karte ist nur für humanes Kapillarblut bestimmt. Sie ist ein Zubehör zu RIDASCREEN Spec. IgG Foodscreen. Die Blutentnahme-Karte ist nur für den einmaligen Gebrauch bestimmt. Die ungefüllten perforierten Kreise auf der Blood Collection Card dürfen nicht mit dem Finger berührt werden und sollten vor mikrobieller Kontaminierung und Nässe geschützt werden. Die Qualität und Saugfähigkeit der Karte kann nicht garantiert werden, wenn die Kreise kontaminiert wurden. Zum Herausdrücken der getrockneten, mit Blut gefüllten Kreise mit dem Finger sollten Einmalhandschuhe getragen werden. Alternativ können die Kreise auch mit einem passenden sterilen Gegenstand herausgedrückt werden, z.b. dem Ende einer Pipettenspitze oder einem Laborspatel.

7 Blutproben und alle Materialien, die mit ihnen in Berührung kommen, sollten als potentiell infektiös behandelt und entsprechend den jeweiligen nationalen Sicherheitsbestimmungen gehandhabt werden. Alle Bestandteile des Kits müssen nach Gebrauch sachgerecht und eigenverantwortlich entsprechend den lokalen Regelungen entsorgt werden. Lagerung und Haltbarkeit: Die Karte ist trocken bei Raumtemperatur (20-25 C) zu lagern und ist auch nach dem Öffnen unbenutzt bis zu dem auf dem Etikett aufgedruckten Verfallsdatum verwendbar. Nach Erreichen des Verfallsdatums kann keine Qualitätsgarantie mehr übernommen werden. Bei trockener Lagerung und Raumtemperatur (20-25 C) ist eine Blutprobe auf der Karte max. 3 Wochen stabil.
