1 EEX Xetra Release 8.0-Simulation Sehr geehrte Handelsteilnehmer, mit diesem Rundschreiben erhalten Sie Details zum Versand des Xetra Release 8.0 Simulation Update Kit 2 und des GATE 3.5 Simulation Update Kit 1 für das Xetra-Frontend sowie Informationen zur Aktualisierung des Xetra Release 8.0 Front End Operations Guide und des Xetra Release 8.0 Security Administration Manual. 1) Informationen zu Versand und Installation des Xetra Release 8.0 Simulation Update Kit 2 und des GATE 3.5 Simulation Update Kit 1 Mit dem Xetra 8.0 Simulation Update Kit 2 und dem GATE 3.5 Simulation Update Kit 1werden insbesondere die folgenden Änderungen vorgenommen: Xetra J-Trader-GUI: Performanceverbesserung des Tickers und des Order Market Overview Korrektes Füllen der Textfelder im Fast Order Entry Der Front End RAL 93 für Subscribe All Trade Prices wird hinzugefügt. Dieser kann für VALUES-Applikationen bei der Benutzerautorisierung eingesetzt werden (bitte beachten Sie: dieses Frontend-RAL-Setting wird im Xetra J-Trader nicht genutzt) Verbesserung der Benutzerfreundlichkeit in verschiedenen Bereichen GATE 3.5: Das GATE 3.5 Production Update Kit wurde am 7. März 2007 in Produktion übernommen. Es enthält Verbesserungen der internen Verwaltung von Private Recoverable Broadcasts. Durch das GATE 3.5 Simulation Update Kit 1 wird der MISS-Betrieb bei der Verarbeitung von ROB log- Dateien sichergestellt, welche eine Größe von 2 GB überschreiten. Diese Größe wird bei einer Anzahl von ca Order- bzw. Quote-Bestätigungen erreicht. 2) Aktualisierung des Xetra Release 8.0 Front End Operations Guide und des Xetra Release 8.0 Security Administration Manual Aktualisierte Versionen des Xetra Release 8.0 Front End Operations Guide und des Xetra Release 8.0 Security Administration Manual stehen ab dem 29. März 2007 zur Verfügung. Im Front End Operations Guide wurde der Abschnitt 3.4 Report Handling aktualisiert. Im Security Administration Manual wurden die RALs 46 und 75 entfernt, da sie nicht mehr erforderlich sind. Versand der Update Kits: Am 30. März 2007 erhalten Sie nach Handelsende die neue Frontend-Software durch den Software Kit-Versand. Die Übertragung findet mittels File-Transfer (FTP) über das Xetra-Netzwerk auf Ihre Report-Knoten statt. Die Xetra Release 8.0 Simulations-Software für Handelsteilnehmer, die WebAccess nutzen, ist ab 2. April 2007 über die Java Web Start-Technologie verfügbar. European Energy Exchange AG Page 1

2 Die Transferverzeichnisse auf den Xetra 8.0 Simulations-MISSes lauten wie folgt: SUN Solaris 10: /opt/gate/transferdir/release52 Windows Server 2003: <ftp-root directory>\release52 Jeder Teilnehmer erhält zwei Xetra 8.0 Simulation Update 2 Kits und zwei GATE 3.5 Update 1 Kits, für SUN Solaris 10 und für Windows Server 2003 (MISS)/Windows XP (Workstation). Voraussetzung für die Installation des GATE 3.5 Update Kit 1 ist eine installierte Version 3.5 der GATE- Software. Um einen reibungslosen Versand der Kits zu gewährleisten, beachten Sie bitte folgende Punkte: Stellen Sie bitte sicher, dass auf jeder MISS in Ihrer Simulationsumgebung mindestens 35 MB Speicherkapazität im Transferverzeichnis verfügbar ist. Damit die Datenübertragung stattfinden kann, bitten wir Sie sicherzustellen, dass die MISSes Ihres Xetra Simulations-Backend-Systems von Freitagabend, 30. März 2007 bis Dienstagmorgen, 3. April 2007 ohne Unterbrechung an das Xetra Simulations-Backend angeschlossen sind. Bitte achten Sie ebenfalls darauf, dass die erforderlichen Schreib- und Leseberechtigungen für Dateien und Ordner richtig gesetzt sind. Die Deutsche Börse AG wird den erfolgreichen Versand der Kits überwachen und bei Übertragungsproblemen automatisch eine weitere Übertragung für den nächsten Tag veranlassen. Zusätzlich wird die Software in Kürze auch auf der Website der EEX AG zum Download bereitstellen. Der Pfad lautet: > Mitgliederbereich > Software & Installation > Xetra > Simulation Installation: Bitte installieren Sie die Update Kits ab Montag, 2. April Der Support wird ab dann nur für die aktuelle Softwareversion erfolgen. Details zur Installation können den Dokumenten Installation Notes (readme file) für Xetra Release 8.0 Simulation Update Kit 2, Installation Notes (readme file) für GATE 3.5 Simulation Update Kit 1 die zusammen mit den Frontend Software-Kits versandt werden, entnommen werden. Verteilung der WebAccess-Software über Java Web Start An die WebAccess-Kunden werden alle Frontend Software-Komponenten über die von der Deutsche Börse Systems AG betreuten Web Start-Server verteilt. Die Verteilung und Installation der Software wird automatisch ausgeführt. Über das Starten der auf vorhandenen Applikationen wird der Download-Prozess initiiert. Die Xetra Release 8.0 Simulations-Software wird ab dem 2. April 2007 für den automatischen Download bereitstehen, WebAccessXetra-Kunden können sich in das Xetra Simulations-Backend einloggen. 4 EEX Customer information Xetra Release 8.0-Simulation Dear trading participants, This circular provides details about distribution of Xetra Release 8.0 simulation update kit 2 and GATE 3.5 simulation update kit 1 for the Xetra front-end, as well as information regarding changes to the Xetra Release 8.0 Front End Operations Guide and Xetra Release 8.0 Security Administration Manual. 1) Information about Distribution and Installation of Xetra Release 8.0 Simulation Update Kit 2 and GATE 3.5 Simulation Update Kit 1 By means of the Xetra 8.0 simulation update kit 2 and the GATE 3.5 simulation update kit 1, the following major changes will be implemented: Xetra J-Trader GUI: Ticker and Order Market Overview performance improvement Correct filling of text fields in Fast Order Entry The Front End RAL 93 for Subscribe All Trade Prices is added which can be used in VAL- UES applications for user authorization (please note: this front-end RAL setting is not used in the Xetra J-Trader) Several usability improvements GATE 3.5: The GATE 3.5 production update kit was rolled out on March 7, 2007 and contains improvements in the internal administration of Private Recoverable Broadcasts. Through the GATE 3.5 simulation update kit 1, operation of the MISSes is ensured during processing of ROB log files that are larger than 2 GB, which corresponds to approximately 700,000 orders or quote confirmations. 2) Updated Versions of Xetra Release 8.0 Front End Operations Guide and Xetra Release 8.0 Security Administration Manual Modified versions of Xetra Release 8.0 Front End Operations Guide and Xetra Release 8.0 Security Administration Manual will be made available on March 29, In the Front End Operations Guide, section 3.4 Report Handling was updated. In the Security Administration Manual, the two RALs 46 and 75 are no longer required and therefore have been removed. Distribution of Update Kits: On March 30, 2007, after close of trading, you will receive the new front-end software through software kit distribution. Transmission will take place via file transfer (FTP) over the Xetra network to your report nodes. For trading members using Web Access, the Xetra Release 8.0 simulation software will be available via the Java Web Start technology as of April 2, European Energy Exchange AG Page 4

5 The target transfer directories on the Xetra 8.0 simulation MISSes are: SUN Solaris 10: /opt/gate/transferdir/release52 Windows Server 2003: <ftp-root directory>\release52 Each member will receive two Xetra 8.0 simulation update 2 kits and two GATE 3.5 update 1 kits, for SUN Solaris 10 and for Windows Server 2003 (MISS)/Windows XP (workstation). Precondition for installing the GATE 3.5 update kit 1 is an installed 3.5 version of the GATE software. To ensure a smooth kit distribution, please note the following: at least 35 MB disk space has to be available in the transfer directory on each of your simulation MISSes, make sure that the MISSes of your Xetra simulation environment are connected to the Xetra simulation back-end system without interruption from Friday evening, March 30, 2007 until Tuesday morning, April 3, 2007 to enable the file transfer, check that the necessary read and write permissions for files and folders are set correctly. Deutsche Börse AG will monitor the successful distribution of the kits. In case of any transfer problems, another transfer for the next day will be initiated automatically. In addition, the software will be posted as soon as possible on the website of EEX AG for downloading under the following path: > Member area > Software & Installation > Xetra > Simulation Installation: We recommend installing the update kits as of Monday, April 2, Support will only be provided for the most recent software version. For details regarding installation, please refer to the documents Installation Notes (readme file) for Xetra 8.0 simulation update kit 2 Installation Notes (readme file) for GATE 3.5 simulation update kit 1 sent out together with the front-end software kits. Web Access Software Distribution via Java Web Start All front-end software components for Web Access customers are distributed by the Web Start servers managed by Deutsche Börse Systems AG. Software distribution and installation process will be executed automatically. By starting the applications available on the download process will be initiated. Xetra Release 8.0 simulation software will be available for automatic download from April 2, 2007 onwards. Web Access members will be able to connect to the Xetra simulation back-end.
