It is not necessary to install the plugin manually. There is an installer shipped with the plugin, which installs the plugin and the necessary components automatically.

1 It is not necessary to install the plugin manually. There is an installer shipped with the plugin, which installs the plugin and the necessary components automatically. Since many people asked about installing the plugin without the installer, we provide this brief documentation. This documentation is for experts only! Installing Ghostscript Either you download and compile Ghostscript from or you use GPL Ghostscript 8.15 which is shipped with the plugin. You can also use a commercial Ghostscript version like AFPL Ghostscript. Comment: You are allowed to use GPL Ghostscript for free without our plugin. Our plugin is only a frontend for free and commercial Ghostscript installations. Install the file called Ghostscript_815 which can be found in the schubec_files folder. A new window appears Now, click on Continue to proceed. You will be asked on which volume Ghostscript should be installed to. Please chose the volume marked with the green arrow. You will be asked for the administrator s password. Page 1/7

2 The installation was successful when you see the following message: Now, please click on the Button to close the Ghostscript setup. You can check the installation by opening the Terminal and executing the following command sudo /usr/local/bin/gs. Ghostscript should start without any errormessage. You can leave Ghostscript with the bye command. Page 2/7

Restart the CUPS Daemon for example with a reboot or with the command killall -HUP cupsd.

3 Installing the printer Copy the scps file, which can be found in the schubec_files folder to /usr/libexec/cups/backend folder. Restart the CUPS Daemon for example with a reboot or with the command killall -HUP cupsd. Start the Print Center which can be found in the Utilities folder. It is called Printer Setup Utility in MacOS 10.3 Click the Add button while you hold down the option key keyboard. on your Page 3/7

4 Now choose Advanced. You can see this list item only if you held down the option key while you clicked on the Add button. As Device choose schubec PS Writer. Page 4/7

5 In the field Device name type exactly schubec PS Printer. In the field Device-URI type exactly scps://tmp. As Printer Model choose the Apple printer called Apple Color LaserWriter 12/600 (first in the list). Click. You have installed the printer successfully. You can see the printer in the list now. Installation of the plugin Copy the file ps2pdf Plugin (EN) which can be found in the schubec_files folder to your FileMaker Extensions directory (where FileMaker stores the Plugins).
