Lighting systems for all kinds of digital and analog imaging. Mainly the sophisticated digital imaging asks for precisely working light units: colour temperature and light output power stable, frame by frame. If they aren t reliable with respect to this, you have to work longer hours on your computer to correct your photographs - hours you aren t able to spent in your studio or on location to produce, to imagine, to create. Precision is the one thing, flexibility the other. Because of that, Hedler light units are part of a complete system. 7 Dauerlicht bietet den entscheidenden Vorteil, dass es unterbrechungsfrei genutzt werden kann - bei Videos Voraussetzung, bei Fotoaufnahmen sehr praktisch. Bei letzteren läßt sich u.a. die Licht-Schatten-Verteilung perfekt vor der Aufnahme beurteilen, sie werden im Bild dem Gesehenen weitgehend entsprechen! Besonders praktisch: werden große Lichtmengen benötigt, beispielsweise um bei Makroaufnahmen mit sehr kleinen Blenden arbeiten zu können - über verlängerte Belichtungszeiten läßt sich dies leicht realisieren. Grundsätzlich unterscheidet man bei Dauerlicht v.a. zwischen Kunstlicht und Taglicht. Taglichtleuchten haben eine Farbtemperatur von ca Kelvin (K=Kelvin), Kunstlicht hat eine Farbtemperatur von ca K. Musste dies in der analogen Fotografie noch durch die Verwendung entsprechender Filter oder Filme beachtet werden, ist die Situation für digital Fotografierende sehr viel bequemer - ein entsprechender Weißabgleich macht s möglich. Was viele Fotografierende an Dauerlicht außerdem schätzen - häufig kann der kamerainterne Belichtungsmesser und die Belichtungsautomatik beim Einsatz von Dauerlicht mit sehr gutem Ergebnis genutzt werden, ein Handbelichtungsmesser kommt dann eher selten zum Einsatz. Die Hedler H-Leuchten in ihren extrem kompakten und robusten Metallgehäusen sind für den professionellen Dauerbetrieb konstruiert und verfügen über eine Gebläsekühlung (HEDLER HT 19s und H 25s) sowie einzeln abgesicherte und mit unterschiedlichen Halogenlampen ausrüstbaren Lampensockel. Continuous light does have one big advantage - it can be used without any interruption - when producing videos, this is essential; making photos, it s simply comfortable. Why? Mainly, because whilst setting-up a photograph shoot, the shadow ratio, size and direction of the lighting can be perfected and you can actually see the likely results! And a very valuable aspect: if a lot of light is needed, e.g. for macro shots, where very small f-stops are normally used, simply prolong exposure time! Chips and traditional film both work like an rechargeable battery, so more time results in a lighter image and/or in a compensation of a (very) small f-stop. Basically, there are two types of continuous light, daylight and halogen light. The colour temperature differs: approx Kelvin (K=Kelvin) for daylight lamps, approx K for halogen lamps. When shooting on film, you have to be aware of this values, tungsten film or converting filters have been standard equipment. These values and the neccessary converting filters or tungsten film are important with analog. Digital imaging has eased this problem, with uncomplicated changes of white balance. Besides all this, some photographers often enjoy using their internal camera light metering system - and with good results! They find that not having a hand-held light meter and calculating f-stop & exposure time combinations makes life easier. However, many studios use handheld light meters to make the most of their light equipment! Hedler H-light units are equipped with extremely compact and sturdy metal housings, designed for professional everyday use. With ForcedAirCooling (HEDLER HT 19s and H 25s) and seperate fuses for each lamp socket, halogen lamps of different output power can be used. This creates independent switchable lamps allowing a range of light outputs from a single light unit. 11 Die Vorteile des Dauerlichtes gelten selbstverständlich auch für die Hedler Taglichtdauerleuchten. Auch sie erzeugen einen kontinuierlichen Lichtstrom, allerdings mit einer Farbtemperatur von ca K. Nun ist die unterschiedliche Farbtemperatur nicht der einzige technische Unterschied: die Leuchten der Hedler D-Reihe erzeugen mittels hoher Frequenz ein Licht, welches als flickerfrei bezeichnet wird und sich u.a. für die Highspeed-Fotografie und -Videografie eignet. Betrachtet man die Leistungsangabe der Taglichtleuchten, die auch als HMI-Leuchten bezeichnet werden, so fällt die relativ geringe Wattangabe im Vergleich zu den Hedler Halogendauerlichtleuchten auf. Der Grund hierfür: HMI-Lampen haben eine höhere Leistungsausbeute. Ihre Leistungsangabe, beispielsweise HMI 400 Watt, muss mit dem Faktor 3,5 multipliziert werden damit man einen direkten Vergleichswert zu Halogendauerlichtleuchten erhält (im obigen Fall HMI 400 Watt x 3,5 - dies entspräche somit einer Leistung von 1400 Watt Halogenlicht). The combination of this abrupt transition with high contrast produces the impression of hard lit set up. Additionally this effect is supported by mostly small and very bright reflections, normally found on shiny or smooth surfaces like glass, polished metal or the eyes. The lighting angle correlates directly with the shape of their cross-section, a flatter metal reflector lights a wider area than a more deeply moulded one. A smaller front opening, perhaps equipped with a honeycomb, leads to a more concentrated light beam shape. 31 Folding reflectors or softboxes are extremely versatile: easily controlled, with softer lighting characteristics but still clear and with accent capabilities. Different size/ object size ratio can produce different, graduated types of soft light. Used at the same distance, a MaxiSoft 50 x 50 produces a harder light than a MaxiSoft 90 x 90. In this example, the shadow areas will cover more space and the deepest shadow will look deeper/darker. Most important to create an impression of hardness is the area between the deepest shadow and the lit area. If sharp and small, and in combination with high contrast between the lit and unlit areas, it creates a harder impression - if wider and more flowing, it produces a softer effect. And stray light increases this impression - in general, softboxes produce a lot and it lightens up the shadows, or in other words, it lowers the contrast! For more control over stray light and size of the light beam, we offer honeycombs. Reflections - well controlled and homogeneous they are a vital part in a photograph.
