Eine kurze Vorstellung Ihrer Studienmöglichkeit als Study Abroad Student: Im Rahmen eines Study Abroad Studiums können Sie je nach Vorqualifikation, Kurse frei aus verschiedenen Fachrichtungen und Levels wählen und kombinieren. Die dort erworbenen Credit Points dieser Kurse können Sie nach Absprache mit der zuständigen Stelle ggf. in Ihrem Studium in Deutschland anrechnen lassen. Das Programm dauert wahlweise ein oder zwei Semester. Die Semester beginnen jeweils im Februar, bzw. März und Juli. Sie interessieren sich für ein komplettes Degree, dann bietet sich ein Bachelor oder Master Programm an. Ein Bachelor ist ein berufsqualifizierender Abschluss, der in der Regel 3 Jahre dauert und qualifiziert dazu, einen Master Kurs zu belegen. Bei Masterprogrammen handelt es sich um ein Vertiefungsstudium, das sich an den Bachelor anschließt. Deutsche Studenten können ein solches Programm belegen, wenn die bisherigen Studienleistungen als Äquivalent zum Bachelor gesehen werden, also mindestens 6 Semester in Deutschland erfolgreich studiert wurden. Finanzierungsmöglichkeit: Bafögempfänger können Auslandsbafög beantragen, welches Studiengebühren i.h.v. 4.600, Reisekosten bis 1.200 und die Krankenversicherung abdeckt. Das Auslandsbafög muss nicht zurückbezahlt werden. Außerdem stehen für die Finanzierung des Auslandssemesters noch weitere Möglichkeiten zur Verfügung, z.b. GOstralia!-oder DAAD Stipendien. Eligibility GPA To be eligible for the Study Abroad program applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or equivalent. A GPA of 3.0 is required for the Internship Program. English Language Requirements For applicants from Non-English speaking countries. TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Score of 580 overall, 5.0 TWE, with a minimum of 53 in Listening, 51 in Structure/Writing, 52 in Reading. Computer based test: 237 Overall, 5.0 TWE, with a minimum of 19 in each section. Internet based test: 92 Overall, with a minimum 23 in each section. IELTS (International English Language Testing) Score of 6.5 overall with a minimum score of 6.0 in each of the components. Visas You will require a student visa for your stay in Australia. An Individual Study Program Study Abroad students can tailor a study program of subjects from across the University. A guide to subject selection is on our website to help you plan your semester. You are required to take between nine and 14 credit points per semester at Macquarie the recommended load is 12 credit points. Most subjects are valued at either three or four credit points. Most of Macquarie University s degrees are three years in duration, so the level of subjects in 100 (first year), 200 (second year) and 300 (third year) generally equates to 200, 300 and 400 level US subjects. Postgraduate subjects are usually labelled as 800. There is a great deal of independent study required at Macquarie University. Study abroad students are expected to complete between 12 and 16 hours of study per subject, per week. It is very important to choose subjects that are offered in the semester you intend to study with us. Most subjects are either offered in Semester one (Feb-July) or Semester two (July-Nov). Before you arrive in Australia, your Macquarie Abroad advisor will enrol you in the subjects that you have been approved for, so that your study program will be confirmed in advance.
