Demographische Ungleichgewichte 1 Bevölkerungsgrösse Afrikas Bevölkerung wird bis zum Ende des Jahrhunderts um mindestens 3 Milliarden Menschen anwachsen. Europas Bevölkerung wird je nach Region stagnieren oder schrumpfen.

Europa, Afrika: Bevölkerungsveränderung (Millionen) Europas Bevölkerung wird in den nächsten 65 Jahren in Nord-Europa anwachsen, in West- Europa stagnieren, und in Süd- und Ost-Europa schrumpfen. Afrikas Bevölkerung wird dagegen in allen Teilregionen des Kontinents zunehmen besonders stark in Ost- und West-Afrika. In diesen beiden Regionen wird die Bevölkerung um 1.9 Milliarden Menschen anwachsen und zwar bereits innerhalb der nächsten 65 Jahre. Afrikanische und europäische Bevölkerungen Länder mit ähnlicher Bevölkerungsgrösse im Jahr 1950 (Millionen) Nigeria und die Ukraine hatten im Jahr 1950 je eine Bevölkerung von etwa 38 Millionen. Heute hat Nigeria 184 Millionen Einwohner; und 2050 wird das Land 440 Millionen Einwohner haben. Am Ende des Jahrhunderts könnte Nigeria 914 Millionen Einwohner haben während die Ukraine auf weniger als 25 Millionen Einwohner schrumpfen wird. Afrikanische und europäische Bevölkerungen Länder mit ähnlicher Bevölkerungsgrösse im Jahr 1950 (Millionen) Äthiopien und Rumänien hatten im Jahr 1950 eine Bevölkerung von 18 bzw. 16 Millionen. Heute hat Äthiopien fast 99 Millionen Einwohner; und 2050 werden es rund 188 Millionen Einwohner sein. Am Ende des Jahrhunderts könnte Äthiopien 243 Millionen Einwohner haben, während Rumänien auf weniger als 13 Millionen Einwohner geschrumpft sein dürfte. Demographische Ungleichgewichte 3 Bevölkerungsdichte & Urbanisierung In manchen Regionen Afrikas wird die Bevölkerungsdichte weit höher sein als in vielen Teilen Europas. Mehr als 60% aller Bewohner von städtischen Gebieten in Afrika leben in Slums.
