Abgekündigte Produkte sollten nicht für neue Bauvorhaben eingeplant und spezifiziert werden. Die in diesem Katalog abgekündigten Produkte aus unserem VarioLED Flex Sortiment können noch bis Ende 2014 bestellt werden, um bereits geplante Bauvorhaben zu berücksichtigen; die Lieferzeit kann aber ggf. länger als sonst üblich sein. Ab 2015 können diese Produkte nur noch als Restbestände und solange Vorrat reicht bezogen werden. Allgemeine Hinweise Mit dem Erscheinen dieses Kataloges verlieren alle vorausgegangenen Unterlagen ihre Gültigkeit. Im Laufe der Gültigkeit dieses Kataloges behalten wir uns vor, technische und formale Änderungen an unseren Produkten vorzunehmen, die der Verbesserung dienen oder geänderten gesetzlichen Vorschriften Rechnung tragen. Aktuelle Daten stellen wir auf Anfrage gerne zur Verfügung. Unter ist unsere stets aktuelle Produkt dokumentation zu finden. Bei der Montage sind alle zutreffenden Regularien und Bestimmungen einzuhalten, z. B. Die Niederspannungsrichtlinie und die dafür heranzuziehenden Normen und Standards. LED Linear Leuchten werden nach den gültigen Normen und technischen Vorschriften konstruiert, gefertigt und geprüft. Die Lichtströme und lichttechnischen Daten beziehen sich auf eine Umgebungstemperatur von 25 C. Bei anderen Temperaturen sind Abweichungen zu den Katalogdaten möglich. Erläuterungen zu Änderungen, Grenzwerten und Schwankungen im Herstellungsprozess Änderungen Die Datenblattwerte sowie die Angaben in diesem Katalog können sich aufgrund technischer Innovationen verändern und werden ohne gesonderte Benachrichtigung vorgenommen. Grenzwerte Das Überschreiten der maximalen im Datenblatt angegebenen Grenzwerte kann zu einer starken Verkürzung der Lebensdauer bzw. zur Zerstörung der Module führen. Die Temperatur des LED-Moduls sollte an dem modulseitig markierten Tc-Punkt im thermisch eingeschwungenen Zustand mittels eines Temperatursensors oder eines temperaturempfindlichen Auf klebers (erhältlich bei z. B. und www. rs-components.com) gem. EN gemessen werden. Schwankungen Die im Datenblatt genannten Werte stellen aufgrund des komplexen Herstellungsprozesses der Module nur statistische Größen dar. Die Werte entsprechen nicht notwendigerweise exakt den tatsächlichen Parametern jedes einzelnen Produktes, das von den typischen Angaben abweichen kann. 532

Discontinued products shouldn t be designed and specified in new projects. All discontinued products from our VarioLED Flex range can be ordered until the end of 2014 to complete projects where they have been specified; delivery times however can be longer than usual. Montagehinweise zur VarioLED Flex Einfache Montage: LED-Band ist an der markierten Stelle mit Schere trennbar. Sicherheits- und Montagehineise zu VarioLED Flex Bitte lesen Sie die Sicherheits- und Montagehinweise in diesem Katalog sowie die angegeben Verweise sorgfältig. Es darf keine mechanische Belastung der Bauteile auf der flexiblen Leiterfolie erfolgen. VarioLED Flex darf nicht im aufgerollten Zustand betrieben werden. Die Leiterbahnen dürfen durch die Montage nicht beschädigt oder unterbrochen werden. Zum Betrieb sollten Netzgeräte verwendet werden, bei denen folgende Schutzmaßnahmen gewährleistet sein müssen: Kurzschlussschutz Überlastschutz Übertemperaturschutz SELV equiv. (Safety Extra Low Voltage)/Class 2 Achten Sie bei der Inbetriebnahme auf die richtige Polung. Durch falsche Polung kann das Produkt beschädigt werden. Bitte achten Sie auf die Daten zur Rückwärtsspannung im Datenblatt. Achten Sie auf die maximale Leistung der zur Verfügung stehenden Stromversorgung. Die Installation von Netzmodulen (mit Netzgerät) darf nur unter Beachtung aller gültigen Vorschriften und Normen durch eine zugelassene Elektrofachkraft erfolgen. Nur die elektrische Parallelschaltung ermöglicht einen sicheren Betriebszustand. Von der elektrischen Reihenschaltung der Module wird ausdrücklich abgeraten. Unsymmetrische Spannungsabfälle können zu einer starken Überlastung und Zerstörung einzelner Module führen. Die maximale Länge der zusammenhängend betreibbaren Einheiten von VarioLED Flex Modulen entspricht der maximalen Länge laut Datenblatt. Beachten Sie die maximale Leistung der Ihnen zur Ver fügung stehenden Stromversorgung. Vermeiden Sie elektrostatische Entladungen (ESD = Electro Static Discharge). Schauen Sie nicht direkt in die leuchtende Lichtquelle (Blendungsgefahr!). 534

8 LED Linear Installations- und Montagehinweise 03/08/2015 Die VarioLED Flex wird unlackiert und daher ohne Korrosionsschutz vom Hersteller geliefert. Dies ist bedingt durch die Möglichkeit, dass der Anwender das LED-Modul an dafür gekennzeichneten Stellen durchtrennen kann und das Modul somit individuell teilbar ist. Beim Durchtrennen würde eine werksseitige Schutzlackierung jedoch dauergeschädigt und ihre korrosionsschützende Wirkung verlieren. Es wird daher empfohlen, als ersten Schritt die Modifikation des Moduls vorzunehmen (Zertrennen und Anlöten von Leitungen) und danach eine Schutzlackierung vorzunehmen. VarioLED Flex ist nicht gegen Feuchtigkeit oder Staub geschützt. Bei Anwendungen mit erhöhter Feuchtigkeits- oder Staubbelastung muss VarioLED Flex in ein Gehäuse mit entsprechender Schutzart eingebaut werden. Das Modul kann durch eine nachträgliche Lackierung gegen Kondenswasser geschützt werden. Der zu verwendende Lack hat folgende Eigenschaften zu erfüllen: Transmissionsbeständigkeit UV-Stabilität Temperaturzyklenbeständigkeit im zugelassenen Temperaturbereich Wärmeausdehnung passend zum Modul 15 30*10^ 6/K Niedrige Wasserdampfpermation bei allen Klimaten Beständigkeit gegen korrosive Atmosphären In unserer Erprobung hat der Lack der Firma Electrolube die Kriterien für VarioLED Flex erfüllt. VarioLED Flex Produkte können an den im Datenblatt gekennzeichneten Stellen mittels einer Schere getrennt werden. VarioLED Flex erleichtert die Montage durch rückseitig aufgebrachte Klebeschicht. Verwenden Sie nur trockene und saubere Oberflächen, die frei von Fett, Öl, Silikon und Schmutzpartikeln sind. Vermeiden Sie das Aufkleben über Kopf ohne zusätzliche Befestigungsmaßnahmen. Aufgrund der unterschiedlichen Anwendungsmöglichkeiten und Oberflächenbeschaffenheiten sowie Umgebungsbedingungen übernimmt LED Linear keine Haftung für die Verklebung. Bringen Sie ggf. zusätzliche Haltevorrichtungen bei der Montage an. Um eine optimale Verklebung der Rückseite zu gewähr leisten, sollte das Produkt nicht länger als 12 Monate im verpackten Zustand bei ca. 20 C und bei bis zu 50% Luftfeuchtigkeit gelagert werden. Die Kontaktierung erfolgt durch manuelles Anlöten von Zuleitungen an den vorgesehen Lötpads (beschriftet mit 24 V). Die Löttemperatur darf 350 C bei einer Lötdauer von maximal 3 Sekunden nicht überschreiten. VarioLED Flex darf an scharfen Kanten nur einmalig und an Stellen gebogen werden, an denen keine elektronischen Bauteile montiert sind. Bei der Installation ist ein Biege radius von 25 mm nicht zu unterschreiten. Bei Montage auf elektrisch leitenden Flächen ist zur Vermeidung von Kurzschlüssen an der Stelle der Lötkontakte eine Iso lation zwischen Montagefläche und Modul vorzusehen. VarioLED Flex HERCULES, RGB L sowie KRONOS müssen bei der Montage auf elektrisch leitenden Oberflächen vollständig unterisoliert werden. Die Module dürfen nur auf Flächen montiert werden, die eine ausreichende Kühlung gewährleisten. Für eine ausreichende Luftzirkulation und Wärmeabfuhr ist zu sorgen. Der Wärmeausdehnungskoeffizient des Moduls beträgt 17*10^ 6/K. Bei großen Temperaturschwankungen wie im Außenbetrieb und dem Betreiben von Längen größer 2 m sind metallische Befestigungsflächen zu verwenden oder zusätz liche Klebebänder mit einem zuverlässigen Halt, die die mechanischen Belastungen durch die unterschiedlichen Ausdehnungskoeffizienten in sich aufnehmen. Die maximalen Kabellängen für die Produktinstallation ergeben sich aus den Tabellen auf Seite 548 ff. 535

To assure a high installation quality please study the following pages for the safety and installation of LED Linear products carefully. Assembly information for VarioLED Flex Easy installation: Cut LED strip with a pair of scissors indicated at the location. Self adhesive 3M tape on the rear side Most reliable connection through soldered cables on pre conditioned solder pads. Safety and assembly information for VarioLED Flex Please read the safety and assembly information and the corresponding references in this catalogue carefully. Mechanical stress of VarioLED Flex and its components has to be absolutely avoided. Operation of VarioLED Flex in rolled-up condition is not allowed. Assembly must not lead to damage or interruption of the circuit paths. Power supply units used for operation should ensure the following basic protection and safety features: Short-Circuit Protection Overload Protection Overheat Protection SELV equivalent (Safety Extra Low Voltage)/Class 2 Observe correct electrical polarity. Wrong polarity can destroy the modules. Please observe reverse voltage data in the data sheet. Pay attention to the maximum output of the power supply. Installation of LED modules (with power supplies) needs to be made with regards to all applicable electrical and safety standards. Only qualified personnel should be allowed to perform installations. Only parallel drive circuits ensure a safe operation. A serial electrical connection of modules must be avoided. Asymmetric voltage drops can lead to a strong over current and damage of single modules. The maximum length of a single unit to be driven in series equals the maximum length according to the VarioLED Flex datasheet. Avoid Electro-Static-Discharge (ESD) The module, as manufactured, has no conformal coating and therefore offers no inherent protection against corrosion. The ability to customize the length of the module by cutting at specifically marked points is a key of the product and hence the reason for no factory installed conformal coating. For these reasons, it is recommended that the user complete all module modifications first (cutting, wiring) and then apply a conformal coating in the final stage of the installation. Damage by corrosion will not be honored as materials defect claim. It s user s responsibility to provide suitable protection against corrosive agents such as moisture and condensation and other harmful elements. Do not look directly into the bright light source (glare hazard!) 536

10 LED Linear Installation and assembly information 03/08/2015 VarioLED Flex is not protected against humidity and dust. For using VarioLED Flex in environments involving humidity or dust VarioLED Flex has to be protected by a fixture or housing with a suitable protection class. VarioLED Flex can be protected against condensation water by treatment with an appropriate circuit board grade conformal coating. The conformal coating should ensure the following features: Optical transparency UV-resistance Thermal expansion matching the thermal expansion of the module 15 30*10^ 6/K Low permeability of steam for all climatic conditions Resistance against corrosive environment The lacquer APL of the company Electrolube com has fulfilled the conditions for VarioLED Flex in our tests. VarioLED Flex can be cut with a pair of scissors at marked locations according to the datasheet. Easy assembly and installation is facilitated by means of the double sided adhesive on the back-surface of VarioLED Flex. Pay attention to provide a clean and dry mounting surface, free of oils, silicones and dirt particles. The mounting surface must have sufficient structural integrity. LED Linear assumes no liability for the bonding of VarioLED Flex because of different applications, environmental conditions and surface properties. If necessary use additional fixing or installation. To ensure an optimal bonding VarioLED Flex should not be stored for longer than 12 months at 20 C and up to 50% relative humidity (in packed condition) Avoid adhesive bonding overhead without additional fixing measures. Solder connections should only be performed manually on designated solder pads (marked with 24 V ). The maximum solder time of 3 seconds and the maximum soldering temperature of 350 C must not be exceeded during soldering. The minimum bending radius is 2 cm. VarioLED Flex may be bent over a smaller radius but only in areas containing no electronic components. Such bending should be made only once and fixed in position. In case of assembly on electric or other conductive surfaces, an electrical isolation between soldering points and mounting surface is necessary. VarioLED Flex HERCULES, RGB L and KRONOS have to be electrically isolated on the rear side before mounted on an electrically conductive surface. VarioLED Flex shall only be mounted on surfaces that provide sufficient cooling. Ensure sufficient ventilation and heat transfer from the product to the ambient The thermal length expansion coefficient is 17*10^ 6/K. When installing in environments with large variations in temperature (e. g. outdoor applications) and operating length of more than 2 m, the use of metallic mounting surfaces is necessary. Otherwise it is advisable to use an additional thicker adhesive tape to absorb the stress of any mismatch in expansion coefficients. The maximum cable length from power supply to the VarioLED Flex product can be taken from the tables on page 548 ff. 537

Die Erwärmung auf Raumtemperatur macht die Produkte wieder so flexibel, dass diese optimal montiert werden können. Die günstigste Verarbeitungstemperatur liegt zwischen +18ºC und +35ºC. Montage: 1. Setzen Sie die Leuchte in die dafür vorgesehene Nut 3.2 Drehen Sie die Befestigungsschrauben (2 Stück) in die hierfür vorgesehenen Bohrungen des Leuchtengehäuses. 2. Kippen Sie die Leuchte so, dass sie bündig auf dem Befestigungsprofil aufliegt 3.3 Die Leuchte ist sicher befestigt, wenn diese sich nicht mehr in horizontaler und vertikaler Richtung auf dem Befestigungsprofil verschieben lässt. 20 LED Linear Installation and assembly information 03/08/2015 There are 2 options to fix a XOOLUX fixture or a gap-less, interconnected chain of multiple XOOLUX fixtures: 1 st option: the mounting profile type XOOLUX Mounting Profile or 2 nd option: the adjustable mounting bracket type XOOLUX Adjustable Mounting Bracket 3.1 Take allen screws (2 pcs) and allen key (1 pc) from the accessory bag. Assembly: 1. Put the fixture into the slot of the profile 3.2 Put screws (2 pcs) into the screw holes of the fixture. 3.3 Turn screw. XOOLUX is properly fixed if fixture cannot be moved from the profile in vertical and horizontal direction. 2. Turn fixture until it is flush placed on the mounting profile. The protection class of XOOLUX is IP54. Just use XOOLUX in applications where ambient conditions are appropriate to the protection class. See also catalogue page 570 ff.
