3 Joanna Charlotte Neuentdeckung aus der Londoner Design-Szene Lovely UK design import Design surprise d Angleterre Joanna Maitland-Hudson wurde 1977 in Gloucester geboren und lebt heute in South-East London. Ihr Atelier betreibt Sie in den bekannten Gipsy Hill Workshops. Durch ihre Ausbildung zur Innenarchitektin beeinflusst, konzentriert sie sich auf große, representative Einzelstücke, die sich sowohl in moderne, als auch in klassische Wohnkonzepte einfügen. Typisch für ihre Ölgemälde ist die ungewöhnliche Kombination aus foto-realistischen und grafischen Elementen. Joannas besondere Liebe gilt der Vogelwelt, tropischen Schmetterlingen und vor allem der asiatischen Kunst. Diese beeinflusst die meisten ihrer Werke in Bezug auf die Komposition, das Thema und die üppige Verwendung von Blattgold. Joanna Maitland-Hudson was born in Gloucester in 1977, the youngest of three girls. She grew up and was educated in Surrey and at the age of 18 moved to South-East London where she still lives today. With a background in interior design and specialist decorative affects, my current practice is quite focused on statement pieces that will work well within larger interior schemes. I paint in oils often using gold leaf embellishment. My style is representational with photorealistic elements but also highly decorative. I work across many genres from nature based subjects to portraiture and equestrian art but I have a particular love for birds and Eastern art and this influence can be seen in most of my paintings in terms of composition, subject and the use of gold leaf. My studio is at The Gipsy Hill Workshops in South-East London. Joanna Maitland-Hudson est née à Gloucester/Angleterre en 1977, la plus jeune de trois sœurs. Après sa formation professionnelle en Surrey, elle allait s installer à Londres à l âge de 18 ans. Avec ma formation en design d intérieur et mon faible pour les effets spéciaux, je me concentre actuellement sur des pièces de maître, destinées à s intégrer dans des conceptions intérieurs de grande envergure. Je peints à l huile, et très souvent avec des forts accents en or-en-feuille. Mon style est assez formel, avec des éléments de photoréalisme, très décoratif en même temps. Je travaille plusieurs genres, mais mes sujets favoris sont les oiseaux et l art asiatique. Mon studio se trouve à Gipsy Hill Workshops, dans les quartiers sud-est de Londres. 3
