2 Greetings The issue of pressure ulcers constitutes a fast growing problem in our society. The complexity of pressure ulcer prevention, novel scientific findings as well as advancements within the medical care industry generate continuous challenges for the care of affected individuals. Timely medical and nursing interventions can prevent the development of pressure ulcers in the first place. This spares those affected much pain, suffering and severe impairment of quality of life - and also has significant beneficial effects on economical cost development. The aim of this Symposium is to give a practice-based overview of the complexity of this topic. The participants will receive the opportunity to gain new insights for their daily work - or confirmation of their current practice. The schedule allows for knowledge transfer and discussions with practitioners, theorists and representatives from the medical care industry - with an aim to promote and expedite professional pressure ulcer prevention.
