Content and Objectives of the Programme Module Catalogue for the Subject The Bachelor programme secondary subject is offered by the Philosophical Faculty I of the JMU as part of programme consisting of one main and one secondary subject at a fundamental studies level. The degree obtained is determined by the main subject. Study of as a Bachelor secondary subject has the following individual goals: secure comprehension of Latin texts without use of auxiliary materials secure knowledge of Latin grammar the ability to interpret Latin texts and their literary models on the basis of scientific research and place them in their historical, cultural and social context The Bachelor examination is the means of establishing whether the candidate has an overview of the fundamental structures within Greek Philology and possesses the ability to apply the relevant scientific methods reliably. Success in the Bachelor examination satisfies, according to the conditions laid down in the FSB/SSR for the relevant Master programmes at the JMU in the version valid for each case, the entry requirements for a Master programme. minor in a Bachelor s degree programme page 4 / 21
