ToK in den Fächern English: When does a text become defined as literature? If meaning is inherently unstable, conditional on the contexts of the text and reader, how can we ever determine what a text means? Mathematics: Does mathematical knowledge really exist independently of our thinking about it? Biology: Can any investigation of the history of evolution of life on Earth be scientific? CAS Creativity Action Service (=CAS) IB-Schülerinnen und -Schüler müssen sich durch persönliche Projekte künstlerisch-kreativ sportlich und/oder sozial engagieren. Ziel: die Übernahme von Verantwortung und die persönliche Entwicklung fördern

Universität Basel Admittance with the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) permits admission to all Bachelor study-programmes, if a minimum of 32 out of 42 points is obtained (without bonus points) in the 6 subjects ( ). One of the subjects in IB Groups 4 or 5 needs to be taken at Higher Level. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) MIT recognizes and gives credit for high scores on certain Higher Level (HL) International Baccalaureate examinations, based on Appropriate documentation. Beispiel: Mathematics: For a score of a 6 or 7 on the Mathematics HL exam, credit will be given for 12 units of subject 18.01, Calculus I.
