Sie ermöglicht die virtuelle Beschreibung im Verbund mit einer Beschreibungssprache, z.b. Electronic Device Description Language EDDL (IEC 61804) Die Regeln zur Merkmalbildung sind in IEC 61360 bzw. ISO 13584-42 hinterlegt.
