Overview The webinar will introduce the possibilities of implementing business logic via J2EE applications and exposing it using the Web Service technology. Furthermore the integration of J2EE Web Services within the portal and vice versa is explained. This is done showing the different SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio perspectives with their wizard support. SAP AG 2005, Portal/J2EE Integration UsingWebServices / Marion Schlotte / 4

SAP WebAS Web Service Infrastructure The SAP Web Application Server implements the basic Web services standards XML, SOAP, WSDL and UDDI. The SAP Web Application Server allows companies to extend their solutions by exposing and integrating Web services. The NWDS provides an environment for publishing, discovering and accessing Web services. Act as server and as client for Web services. 30 Overview SAP WebAS Web Service Infrastructure Creating Web Services Test and Admin tools for Web Services Consuming Web Services
Consume a WebService 1) From a Portal Application 2) From a J2EE Application (not covered during thissession) Client Bean Servlet JSP 3) From WebDynpro (not covered during this session) 4) From ABAP (not covered during this session) SAP AG 2005, Portal/J2EE Integration UsingWebServices / Marion Schlotte / 31
Consuming a Web Service (Scenario 1 and 2) To consume a Web service, you can create a deployable or a standalone proxy for the Web service in the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio using a WSDL document as a basis. WSDL Deployable Proxy Standalone Proxy The difference between a deployable and a standalone proxy is that, for a deployable proxy, the application of the Web service client must be deployed on the J2EE engine. A standalone proxy can be executed without the J2EE engine. SAP AG 2005, Portal/J2EE Integration UsingWebServices / Marion Schlotte / 32
Create a deployable Proxy Project 1. Create a Web service proxy project. Choose File fi New fi Project fi Web Services fi Deployable Proxy Project 2. Give it a project name leave the defaults and press Finish. SAP AG 2005, Portal/J2EE Integration UsingWebServices / Marion Schlotte / 33
Creating a deployable Proxy 1. Right-Click your Deployable Proxy Project - choose New fi Client Proxy Definition 2. Enter a Package and a Proxy Name and select the WSDL source type 3. Enter the WSDL and click through until Finish. Logical ports and service endpoint interfaces are automatically generated. SAP AG 2005, Portal/J2EE Integration UsingWebServices / Marion Schlotte / 34
Build & Deploy Deployable Proxy Build an EAR file and deploy it to your J2EE engine SAP AG 2005, Portal/J2EE Integration UsingWebServices / Marion Schlotte / 35
Visual Administrator - JNDI Registry SAP AG 2005, Portal/J2EE Integration UsingWebServices / Marion Schlotte / 36
Web Service Consumer To consume a Web Service, the deployable proxy object is called via JNDI lookup: Portal Application EJB Servlet JSP Web As Deployable Proxy WS Provider JNDI Context SOAP Calls SAP AG 2005, Portal/J2EE Integration UsingWebServices / Marion Schlotte / 37
1) Calling a Web Service from a Portal Component Despite of the Portal Web Service Solution delivered in NW04 (see screenshot), it is possible to call a Web Service from a Portal Component using the SAP Web As Web Service Framework. Please do not use these wizards anymore use the described proxyobject SAP AG 2005, Portal/J2EE Integration UsingWebServices / Marion Schlotte / 38
Call WebService from Portal Component String key = "wsclients/proxies/sap.com/ CarRentalDeployableProxyProject/com.nwrrig.test.CarRentalProxy"; QuickCarRentalService service = null; QuickCarRentalServiceViDocument port = null; Context context = new InitialContext(); Object obj = context.lookup(key); service = (QuickCarRentalService)obj; port = (QuickCarRentalServiceViDocument)service. getlogicalport(quickcarrentalservicevidocument.class); port.cancelbooking(<bookingid>); Please remember the Visual Admin JNDI Registry SAP AG 2005, Portal/J2EE Integration UsingWebServices / Marion Schlotte / 39
Adding a reference in the portalapp.xml <application-config> <propertyname="privatesharingreference" value="sapj2ee::sap.com/carrentaldeployableproxyproject"/> </application-config> Name of the deployed Deployable Proxy Project SAP AG 2005, Portal/J2EE Integration UsingWebServices / Marion Schlotte / 40
Add the Proxy libraries To get the coding compiled, you need to add the correct libraries (jar files) of the proxy project. These are located on the file system under the following folder: \j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\ <DeployableProxyProjectName>\webservices_container\ wsclients\app_jars SAP AG 2005, Portal/J2EE Integration UsingWebServices / Marion Schlotte / 41
