A Walk Through History For centuries, Salzburg was a proud state ruled by Archbishops who lavished great wealth and splendid architecture on the city sometimes called the Rome of the North because of its many churches and cathedrals. It is also called the city of Music as the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. On this walking tour, you can take in examples of Salzburg s breathtaking Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque artistry. Near the start of your walk you will encounter the world-famous gardens of Mirabell Palace, and view the house where Mozart was raised. Crossing a footbridge into the Baroque City Center, you will see the house where Salzburg s most famous composer was born, and the renowned shopping street, the Getreidegasse. Among the picturesque streets and hidden byways of the Old City you will see the Salzburg Dome Cathedral, St. Peter s Monastery and many other important sights and symbols. Ob Kaiser Franz Josef und sein Hofstaat in Bad Ischl oder die Salzburger Fürst-Erzbischöfe im Jagdschloss Fuschl: Die malerische Seenlandschaft der Bundesländer Salzburg, Oberösterreich und der Steiermark fasziniert. Besuchen Sie das Mozartdorf St. Gilgen, die Heimat von Mozarts Mutter und genießen Sie eine ca. 25 minütige Schifffahrt nach St. Wolfgang (die Schifffahrt ist von bis inkludiert). In St. Wolfgang besichtigen Sie den berühmten gotischen Flügelaltar von Michael Pacher und haben die Möglichkeit zu einer Kaffeejause im weltbekannten Restaurant Im Weissen Rössl (optional). On this tour, you experience the breathtaking beauty of one of Austria s loveliest regions. Our journey begins by leaving Salzburg to reach the scenic and historic landmarks of the countryside. We pass along Lake Fuschl with a view of Castle Fuschl on our way to the historic village of St. Wolfgang on the banks of Lake Wolfgang. Here, there is time to see the winged Gothic altar by Michael Pacher and stop in at the famous White Horse Inn (optional). From St. Wolfgang, we board the boat for a journey across the lake to St. Gilgen, the picturesque village where Mozart s mother was born (May 1 st October 26 th ). We continue our journey along the lake of Mondsee as we turn our steps towards Salzburg. The ever-changing scenery will make this an unforgettable tour. 14 TOUR 3 Berchtesgaden Bavarian Mountains TOUR 3 Eine romantische Fahrt durch das schöne Berchtesgadener Land Vom Mirabellplatz aus fahren wir über die Staatsbrücke und entlang der Salzach. Vorbei an der barocken Altstadt gelangen wir über die Alpenstraße zur früheren Grenzstation Marktschellenberg. Ein Stück begleitet die Königsseeache unsere Fahrt durch die bezaubernde Tallandschaft der Bayerischen Alpen und nach kurzer Zeit erreichen wir den Obersalzberg (ca Meter Seehöhe). Dort, wo einst die Anführer des Dritten Reiches ihre Residenz hatten, ist heute nicht mehr viel zu sehen, nur eine Straße, die hinauf führt zum Kehlsteinhaus. Von dort fahren Sie über die 70 Jahre alte Straße zum Kehlsteinhaus. Es ist bemerkenswert wie sich die 6,5 Kilometer lange und 4 Meter breite Straße in Richtung Kehlsteinhaus hinauf schlängelt und dabei einen Höhenunterschied von 800 Meter und eine Steigung von 22 % bewältigt. Das letzte Stück zum Kehlsteinhaus müssen Sie über einen 124 Meter langen Tunnel und den im Fels gebauten Lift zurücklegen. We drive through the valley, passing scenic farmhouses to reach the foot of the Obersalzberg. The WWII elevator transports us to the Eagle s Nest perched on top of the mountain.
