Table with description of parameters : Parameter Function Parameter description Setting range Default value S2.1 Protection - cooling of When the temperature in the storage tank is higher than 0 - OFF 1 solar system the set point temperature, heating with the collectors stops. 1 - ON If then the collector temperature exceeds maximum temperature Tmax, the solar pump switches on again until collectors are cooled down to the value of hysteresis P1.18. In case the storage tank exceeds the maximum temperature, the solar pump stops unconditionally. ENG S2.2 Impulsive pump mode - tube collectors S2.3 Collector s frost protection Special algorithm activates the solar pump to switch -on for short intervals. This way you get realistic temperature of collectors. This function is used especially with vacuum (tube) collectors. This function is also possible with classic collectors if the sensor is fitted outside of the collector body. If the temperature drops bellow the set point value (P2.18), the solar pump switches -on to prevent freezing in the collectors and pipelines. NOTE: This setting is suitable only for climates areas where the temperature only occasionally drops bellow the freezing point. 0 - no 1 - yes 0 - OFF 1 - ON 0 0 S2.4 Order of storage tank priorities In a system with two or more storage tanks, you set the order of loading priority. 1 - seq. 1, seq...2,1 1 S2.5 Storage tank priority - operation interval If the system is loading (for a setted time) the non priority storage tank, the operation is temporarily stopped. 36 FUNCTION PARAMETERS ENG Function parameters are arranged in groups F1 and F2. Group F1 contains parameters to set the solar heat metering. Group F2 contains parameters for free programming of relay output R1 operation. The procedure for setting function parameters is the same as for service parameters (see page 31). This setting is used only by schems where both collector fields can operate simultaneously l/min 12

HEAT METERING Controllers KSW-E, KSW and KS2W enable simple and advanced metering of acquired solar energy. For heat metering is necessary to have a temperature sensor installed into solar collector s return pipe - cold sensor Tc. Heat metering is activated with parameter F1.1=1. Medium and its mixture is setted with parameter F1.2 and F1.3. ENG Simple heat metering By this metering principle is necessary to read out the max. amount of flow on mechanic flow meter and set it with parameter F1.8 for first collector field and with parameter F1.9 for second collector field (only by applications with 2 collector fields). By applications with two collector fields (scheme 236 and 248) is necessary to set also a sum amount of flow, when both circulation pumps are running. This setting is done with parameter F1.10. Amount of flow needs to be read out when pump is running at its full power or at 100 % rpm. To do that, manually activate circulation pump (see chapter Manual mode, page 20). Connect collector return pipe sensor Tc into terminals T5. Simple heat metering can be used by all schemes with exception of schemes 246 and 246b. Advanced heat metering with volume flow sensor For advanced heat metering is necessary to install volume flow sensor (impulse type). Advanced heat metering is activated with parameter F1.6=1. Impulse rate of installed flow meter is set with parameter F1.7. Connect collector return pipe sensor Tc into terminals T4 and adjust the cold sensor setting with parameter F1.5=4. Advanced heat metering is possible only by following hydraulic schemes: 211 to 220c, 222, 223, 232, 233, 234, 235, 236, 239 and 244 to 246b. Heat metering is in both cases only informational type and can be used only as a personal reference. Measured data cannot be used for energy billing or similar purposes. 37 Service settings manual

ENG RESET OF PARAMETERS FOR SELECTED HYDRAULIC SCHEME Restores all parameter settings P1, P2, P3 S2, S3, F1 and F2 to factory settings. RESET OF ALL CONTROLLER SETTINGS Restores all parameter settings P1, P2, P3, S1, S2, S3, F1 and F2 to factory settings. RESET OF TIME PROGRAMS Deletes current time programs and restores factory set time programs. SAVE USER'S SETTINGS Save current parameter values as user's settings. All sensors marked with an error (ERR) are reset to status (disconnected sensor). LOAD USER'S SETTINGS Load previously saved user's settings. Before carrying out any of above commands the controller demands confirmation of the selected command. CONTROLLER DATA If you choose this icon in the menu a new screen opens which shows controller data. There is a marking of the controller type and software equipment version. Exit the screen by pressing the button. 39 Service settings manual

INSTALLATION MANUAL ENG CONTROLLER INSTALLATION The KSW-E, KSW und KS2W controllers are installed directly on the wall or on DIN rail or in the system solar group opening. WALL INSTALLATION Install the regulator inside in a dry place, where it is not exposed to any strong electromagnetic fields. The controller is most common installed on the wall in the boiler room. Installation on the wall is carried out according to the following procedure: 1 1. In the area of installation drill 2 holes with 6 mm in diameter, app. 40 mm deep. Centres of holes must be 120 mm apart vertically. Insert screws anchors. Screw the screw in the upper anchor in a way that approximately 4 mm of gap remains between the screw head and wall. Installation manual 40

ENG Hang the controller on the upper screw. 3. Insert the lower screw and screw it in. 42 CONTROLLER'S ELECTRIC CONNECTION ENG Each project with differential controller needs to base exclusively on customer design and calculations and needs to be in compliance with valid rules and regulations. Pictures, diagrams and text in this manual are intended solely as an example and the manufacturer does not accept any responsibility for them. If you use content of this manual as a base for your project, then you carry also full responsibility for it. Responsibility of publisher for unprofessional, wrong and false information and consecutive damage are explicitly excluded. We retain the right for technical errors, mistakes, changes and corrections without prior notice. Installation of controlling devices should be done by an expert with suitable qualifications or by an authorised organisation. Before you deal with the main wiring, make sure that the main switch is switched off. You have to follow the rules for low-voltage installations IEC and VDE 0100, law prescriptions for prevention of accidents, law prescriptions for environmental protection and other national regulations. Before you open the housing make sure all poles of electric supply are disconnected. Not following the rules this may lead to serious injuries such as burns or even risk of death. The controller must be connected to the power supply via a separating switch for all poles. The distance between poles by open contact must be at least 3 mm. For models KSW-E, KSW and KS2W are relays R2 and R3 designed as semi conductor relays for pump speed control. All low-voltage cables, such as temperature sensor cables, have to be routed separately from mains voltage cables. All connections of temperature sensors are carried out to the left, and main voltage connections to the right side of the controller. KSW-E KSW KS2W Installation manual 42

FLOW METER INSTALLATION The flow meter is installed in the return pipe of the solar system. When installing the flow meter please refer to the user manual that is included. After installing the flow meter you have to set operation parameters in the function parameters F1. ENG 43 User and settings manual
