7 Insolvency and Restructuring Analysis Insolvency and Corporate Rescue Insolvency Administration/Trusteeships Comment: The insolvency of Alno Group was the third largest case in 2017, not least because it entailed over 2,000 jobs. The undoubtedly well-oiled team had to prove itself anew, as cases of this magnitude are no sure-fire success especially since the controversial self-administration solution was unsuccessful and Hörmann went from the role of trustee to administrator. The fact that the firm ultimately managed to sell parts of the group to investors is testament to Anchor s meticulous work. Now the firm can focus on processing the somewhat questionable history of the insolvency. Although Anchor goes from strength to strength in southwest Germany, the firm has a nationwide presence. In north Germany Anchor rose to become one of the most prominent trustees last year with its numerous appointments. In their role as advisors the firm s partners were often involved in the year s biggest cases not always in a primary capacity but frequently sought after for issues surrounding insolvency plans, employment law and litigation.
