1 FACULTY OF LANGUAGES Syllabus For CERTIFICATE COURSE IN GERMAN (PART TIME) (Semester: I II) Examinations: GURU NANAK DEV UNIVERSITY AMRITSAR Note: (i) Copy rights are reserved. 2 1 CERTIFICATE COURSE IN GERMAN (PART TIME) (SEMESTER I) PAPER I: (APPLIED GRAMMAR & COMPREHENSION) Time: 3 Hrs. Max Marks: Grammar (all topics in the textbook to be covered) 20 Marks 2. Comprehension (Two seen texts with questions) 20 Marks 3. Simple questions of general interest on German speaking countries. 10 Marks Five out of 10 questions about German speaking countries i. e. Germany, Austria & Switzerland are to be answered by the candidate in one to three lines. The material for this section is to be supplied by the teacher. The Following Questions Shall Form the Corpus: 1. In welchen Laendern spricht man Deutsch? 2. Welche andere Sprachen spricht man in der Schweiz? 3. Wie heissen die groessten Staedte Deutschlands? 4. Nennen Sie zwei deutsche Bundeslaender! 5. Nennen Sie zwei Fluesse Deutschlands! 6. Wie heisst die Hauptstadt von der Schweiz und welche andere wichtige Staedte gibt es in der Schweiz? 7. Wie heisst die Hauptstadt Oesterreichs und wofuer ist sie bekannt? 8. An welchem Fluss liegt Hamburg und wofuer ist die Stadt bekannt? 9. Wie heisst die Hauptstadt Bayerns und welche bekanntes Fest feiert man dort jedes Jahr? 10. Nennen Sie vier Nachbarlaender von Deutschland!
