6 Objectives of the Earth Forschungszentrum and Environmental Karlsruhe Research Area: Fields of Research: - Knowledge for the society s orientation and acting towards a sustainable development (provident research) - Scientific and technical fundamentals for innovations towards an environmentally compatible sustainable development Innovation Goals: - Understanding of the system Earth - Increase in the productivity of resources and technical efficiency - Reduction of environmental pollution - Creation of new markets and jobs by sustainability-oriented innovations - Advising of politics as a contribution to implementing the national sustainability strategy (political scenarios and objectives, measurement parameters and indicators, boundary conditions and instruments)
