2 DATA-DRIVEN HEALTH CARE IS ON THE RISE CAN YOU KEEP PACE? At ehealth Summit Austria, Austria s national ehealth event, we will be discussing under the motto Digital Insight Information-driven Health&Care the impact of data-driven healthcare. Over the two day event, we will also dig deeper into topics such as cybersecurity, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The focus of the sessions in the HIMSS usertrack is on the practical aspects: How, for example, can cybersecurity be implemented in healthcare? And how can new technologies such as AI or deep learning be integrated into the everyday lives of doctors and clinicians? The subject of ELGA, the electronic health record, will remain high on the agenda. Together with local experts and Austrian government representatives, we will discuss what has been achieved since its introduction in December 205. What are the next goals and priorities? With the support of the Personal Connected Health Alliance (PCHAlliance/Continua), we will continue to focus on patient care this year. In addition to the user-oriented part supported by HIMSS Europe and the scientific program section of ehealth207, the PCHAlliance/ Continua is onsite for the first time this year on the occasion of its European members meeting. We look forward to enjoing some lively discussions with you! In particular, we deal with navigation, mobility, and technological support in self-determination. The Austrian project Way Key is a cooperation between science and industry partners, in which a new and unconventional technology is designed, which aims at encouraging people with dementia to increase confident mobility. We distinguish ourselves from current solutions by avoiding the feeling of surveillance or highly complex tools. We have been working with people with dementia, professional caregivers, and family members. Based on interviews, focus groups and workshops we developed a set of prototypes to address issues mentioned by participants. These prototypes include tools to help with situations of disorientation, unobtrusive trackers with the least possible privacy intrusions, or strategies to remind users to take their tools along when leaving the house or to recharge them regularly. After introductory lightning talks from Way Key and related projects, we present and explore these prototypes and conduct an interactive discourse with the workshop participants. While the 20th century information technology was primarily used for automation and optimization and topics such as ERP, clinical information systems, electronic health records, the beginning of the 2st century has been focussing on disruptive technologies, innovative business models as well as autonomization and personalisation. Health, Digital Technologies and changing patient behaviour are at a crossroads, and their brainchild, digital health has the potential to creatively destroy medicine as we know. The increasing digitization of healthcare raises issues about strategy, risk, market and organizational structure, workforce, and culture issues that, in the final analysis, require everyone s attention, and not just those who work in Health IT. Bart de Witte, gives an overview on how artificial intelligence is already impacting healthcare, and will make strong statements why all European stakeholders in healthcare need to shift gears and re-think the value of digital health. In the course of the last years, a wide range of technologies and services was developed that have the potential to contribute to an increased quality of life of older people. Beyond their ability to support every-day activities and their acceptance within the target group, also the development of holistic service concepts and sustainable business models are crucial for successfully introducing AAL solutions to the market. Since 202 six AAL pilot regions were launched, supported by the Austrian Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology (BMVIT). Within these pilot regions, AAL products and services are put into practice and tested over a longer period of time. Overarching goals are: evaluating the impact of AAL technologies in daily use along the entire value chain; and developing go-to market strate-gies involving representatives from businesses and the housing sector as well as stakeholders from research, health care, insurances and the public sector. This workshop brings together representatives from all Austrian pilot regions and other interested participants.
