Grußworte von Landeshauptmann Dr. Luis Durnwalder Als Landeshauptmann und verantwortlicher Sportlandesrat entbiete ich den Teilnehmern und den wintersportbegeisterten Zuschauern aus nah und fern herzliche Willkommensgrüße! Die Verantwortlichen des ASV Feldthurns freuen sich darauf, vom 18. bis 20. Februar 2011 die Elite des Naturbahnrodelsportes zu Gast zu haben und sicher spannende Wettbewerbe zu erleben. Lobenswert erwähnen möchte ich die fruchtbringende Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem ausrichtenden Sportverein Feldthurns und dem Sportverein Villnöss. Diese macht es dem Sportverein Feldthurns möglich, die Wettbewerbe auf der anspruchsvollen Naturrodelbahn in Villnöss auszutragen. Eine vorbildliche Vereins-Kooperation, die seit Jahren Früchte trägt. Villnöss besitzt nämlich eine Naturrodelbahn, die allen Ansprüchen gerecht wird. Dies lässt darauf hoffen, dass die bereits erfahrenen Verantwortlichen des ASV Feldthurns eine beeindruckende Sportveranstaltung ermöglichen werden. Wir alle vertrauen ferner auf das Publikum. Ihm werden - gewiss nicht zu Unrecht - besonderes Interesse, Begeisterungsfähigkeit und Objektivität nachgesagt. Diese Faktoren bieten die Gewähr dafür, dass die bevorstehenden Rodelbewerbe für alle Beteiligten, für die Verantwortlichen, für die Teilnehmer, aber auch für die Zuschauer zu einem großen, fairen und erfolgreichen Fest des Rodelsportes werden. In diesem Sinne wünsche ich allen Wettbewerbsteilnehmern nicht nur große Erfolge, sondern auch erlebnisreiche Tage!

Saluto del Presidente della Provincia Dr. Luis Durnwalder Mi è occasione particolarmente gradita in qualità di Presidente della Provincia e di Assessore allo Sport esprimere il mio più caloroso saluto di benvenuto agli atleti ed alle atlete convenuti a Funes in occasione della Finale della Coppa Intercontinentale di slittino su pista naturale. L ASV di Velturno e di Funes organizzano congiuntamente questa manifestazione dal 18 al 20 di febbraio 2011. Nel corso degli anni la sinergia tra le due associazioni ha permesso di raggiungere importantissimi risultati la manifestazione che si svolge sulla pista di Funes ne è una ulteriore importante conferma. Siamo particolarmente lieti di poter ospitare nuovamente una manifestazione di tale importanza nella nostra Provincia; e la stupenda pista naturale di Funes sarà sicuramente in grado di offrire una gara avvincente ed emozionante. Confidiamo che gli appassionati altoatesini, cui non manca certo l interesse ed una riconosciuta competenza verso manifestazioni di questa disciplina, affluiscano in modo massiccio; essi potranno senz altro godere uno spettacolo entusiasmante. Questi elementi sono una garanzia affinché questo appuntamento possa rappresentare un alto momento di sport, all insegna della lealt{, per gli atleti, per gli organizzatori e per gli spettatori tutti! Greetings South Tyrol s governor Dr. Luis Durnwalder In my function as South Tyrol s governor and responsible and sports councilor I present my compliments to the competitors and the visitors from near and far. The responsible of the ASV Feldthurns are glad to host the natural luge sports elite from the 18 th to the 20 th February 2011 and to be the organizer of a hopefully exciting competition. Worthy of praise is also the fertile cooperation between the organizing sports club ASV Feldthurns and the sports club Villnöss. Exactly this cooperation makes it possible for the ASV Feldthurns to hold the competition at the challenging track in Villnöss. This exemplary cooperation is a model, which comes to fruition since years. The track in Villnöss is a track that meets all the requirements. This leads to the expectation, that the already proficient responsible people of the ASV Feldthurns make an impressive sports event possible. Furthermore we trust in our public, a public that is famous for special interest, surgency and objectivity. These factors are a warranty, that the forthcoming competition will be a big, fair and successful festival for all participants, for the responsible people, for the competitors but also for the spectators. With this in mind I wish all the participants not only great success, but also eventful days!

Grußworte des EU Parlamentarier Dr. Herbert Dorfmann Es ist mir eine Ehre, die Grußworte zum heurigen Intercontinental Cup Finale im Rennrodeln auf Naturbahn in St. Magdalena in Villnöss entrichten zu dürfen. Mit Freude begrüße ich die Athleten, Betreuer und Zuschauer anlässlich dieser wichtigen Sportveranstaltung und heiße sie alle recht herzlich willkommen. Der Rodelsport gehört zu den Traditionssportarten unseres Landes und daher ist es für Südtirol eine große Freude, Gastgeber dieser außergewöhnlichen Sportveranstaltung zu sein. Wie in der Vergangenheit werden wir auch dieses Jahr wieder die Elite der Naturbahnrodler zu Gast haben. Dabei ist besonders wichtig, auch den jungen Athleten die Möglichkeit zu geben, sich mit internationalen Sportlern im Wettkampf zu messen. Viele Mannschaften haben bereits jetzt neue und verheißungsvolle Wintersporttalente in ihren Reihen. Ich betrachte daher die Nachwuchsförderung als sehr wichtig und positiv, denn unsere jungen Sportler sind äußerst engagiert und talentiert, sie zeigen Fleiß und vor allem Freude am Sport. Deshalb ist es unser erklärtes Ziel, sie auch in Zukunft unterstützend zu begleiten und das Rodeln auf internationaler Ebene weiterzuführen. Rodeln ist ein besonders schöner und spannender Sport, den Groß und Klein mit großer Begeisterung ausüben. Ich wünsche allen Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmern viel Erfolg bei den Wettkämpfen. Ein besonderer Dank gilt dabei den Organisatoren der Veranstaltung sowie allen übrigen Helfern, die mit ihrem tollen Einsatz für einen reibungslosen Ablauf dieses Events sorgen werden. Den Zuschauern wünsche ich nicht nur viel Spaß und Freude an den vielen spannenden Rennläufen sondern auch einen unvergesslichen Aufenthalt in einem der schönsten Täler unseres Landes, dem Villnösser-Tal. Lo slittino è sempre stato uno sport tradizionale del nostro territorio e riviviamo anche quest'inverno un evento ai massimi livelli qui in Sudtirolo. Come in passato anche quest anno avremo modo di assistere alle prove dei migliori atleti di slittino. È un evento importante per i giovani che hanno così la possibilità di presentarsi per le gare internazionali. Da tante squadre emergono già giovani promesse talenti per cui vedo in modo positivo la promozione dei giovani talenti perché hanno grandi capacità e mostrano impegno, ma anche piacere nel praticare lo sport. Il nostro obiettivo è quello di accompagnare i giovani sulla loro futura strada e nello stesso modo promuovere lo slittino nel mondo. Lo slittino è uno sport che da piacere a grandi e piccoli e deve essere accessibile a tutti. Auguro a tutte le partecipanti e a tutti i partecipanti molto successo nelle gare, ringrazio soprattutto gli organizzatori, i volontari e i sostenitori che contribuiscono con il loro impegno al perfetto svolgimento di questa manifestazione. Greetings European parlamentarien Dr. Herbert Dorfmann It is an honour for me to express these words of welcome on the occasion of the Intercontinental Cup Finals of luge on natural tracks in San Maddalena in Val di Funes. I am delighted to welcome all athletes, coaches and visitors of this important sport event. The luge sport is a traditional sport of our region and therefore, it is a pleasure for South Tyrol to host this exceptional competition. This year, as the years before, the best athletes will be host in our country. It is of prime importance that young athletes have the chance to show their talent in an international competition. There are many young talents in all teams. The promotion of young athletes is very important because they show an enormous motivation, diligence and have fun in practicing their sport. Therefore, we will support them and we will continue to promote the luge sport on an international field. Luge is an interesting and wonderful sport that everyone practises with big motivation. I wish all participants good luck at the competition. Particularly, I would like to thank the organisers of this event and all the helpers without who this event would not enjoy this huge success. I hope that all visitors enjoy this event not only by watching the competitions but also by spending an unforgettable time in one of the most beautiful valleys of our region.

Grußworte vom Bürgermeister von Feldthurns Konrad Messner Feldthurns freut sich, das Finale des Intercontinental Cup organisieren zu dürfen. Der Intercontinental Cup ist die Rennserie, wo sich die besten Nachwuchsfahrer sowie, wenn terminlich möglich, auch die meisten Nationalmannschaften mit den weltbesten Naturbahnrodlern beteiligen. Somit kann man sich auf interessante und spannende Wettkämpfe freuen. Die Nachwuchsfahrer werden sicher versuchen, einen Startplatz für die kommende Saison in den jeweiligen Nationalkadern zu erkämpfen, womit der Veranstaltung zusätzliche Spannung verliehen wird. Das bewährte Organisationskomitee wird sicher wieder ihr Bestes geben. Der Veranstaltung wünsche ich ideales Rennwetter, den Teilnehmern von nah und fern viel Wettkampfglück und ein unfallfreies Rennen und den hoffentlich zahlreichen Zuschauern gute Unterhaltung. Questa serie internazionale di gare e nata sopratutto per poter dare la possibilita ai piu giovani atleti, non ancora all altezza di poter competere con i migliori in assoluto, pero e la rampa di lancio verso la partecipazione alle gare di coppa del mondo. Se il calendario gare lo permette, e questo e il caso per questa finale, ci saranno i migliori al mondo a partecipare. Percio ci si puo aspettare delle emozionante discese da parte di questi atleti. I migliori giovani cercheranno a fare del loro meglio, in quanto al vincitore della serie spetta il diritto a partecipare ad una gara di coppa del mondo nella stagione agonistica prossima, ma anche perche per i migliori delle diverse nazioni e la possibilita ad entrare nelle squadre nazionali. Sono convinto che anche l affiatatissimo comitato organizzatore cerchera di fare del suo meglio per una buona riuscita di questa manifestazione sportiva a livello internazionale. Auguro a tutti i partecipanti da lontano e piu vicini delle gare senza incidenti, a tutti delle condizioni metereologiche ideali, ed ai, speriamo moltissimi spettatori un buon divertimento. The Intercontinental Cup Series is the most important series for the best young talents to establish their reputation, and where also most members of the different national teams takes participate, if there is no clash of appointments with other international races. Hence we are looking forward to an interesting and exciting competition. The young talents will surely try their best to get a good position in the respective national teams for the next season, whereby the competition will become more interesting. The reliable organization-committee will definitely give their best. For the event itself I am hoping for ideal weather conditions; I wish the participants from all around the world the best of luck and hope for a competition without accidents. Furthermore I hope for numerous spectators and wish them a good entertainment.

Grußworte FIL Vizepräsident Naturbahn Technik Alfred Jud Liebe Rodelsportfreunde Es freut mich ganz besonders, dass ich als Vizepräsident und gleichzeitig Delegierter des Int. Rennrodelverbandes FIL zum Finale des IC-Cup nach Villnöß kommen kann. Das Finale des Intercontinentalcup im Rennrodeln auf Naturbahn findet auf der neuen Int. Rennrodelbahn in St.Magdalena in Villnöß statt und wird über die FISI durch den bekannten und erfolgreichen Verein ASV Feldthurns ausgetragen. Der IC-Cup ist das Sprungbrett für viele junge Rennrodler in die Nationalmannschaft. Die Gesamtsieger haben in der kommenden Rennsaison einen fixen Startplatz bei einem Weltcuprennen. Unter der Federführung des Präsidenten Grunser Helmuth sind die Vorbereitungen für das diesjährige Finale schon in vollem Gang und ich bin mir sicher dass ausgezeichnete Pisten- und Rennbedingungen geschaffen werden. Ich wünsche mir dass viele Zuseher dieser Veranstaltung beiwohnen werden und so die vielen hervorragenden Athleten selbst hautnah an der Strecke erleben können. Es gilt auch Zeichen der Wertschätzung gegenüber dem Veranstalter wenn sich viele Besucher auf der neuen Rodelbahn einfinden. Ich darf bereits an dieser Stelle den vielen Freiwilligen Mitarbeitern und dem Organisationskomitee danken für ihren selbstlosen Einsatz und wünsche euch ein faires und unfallfreies Rennen. Saluto Vicepresidente FIL Responsabile tecnico slittino pista naturale Alfred Jud Cari amici dello slittino. Come vicepresidente e nello stesso tempo come delegato della FIL, l organizzazione internazionale dello slittino, ho il piacere di poter essere presente alla finale di questa serie di gare coppa intercontinentale. Questa finale del IC-Cup dello slittino su pista naturale, viene corsa sulla pista di Santa Maddalena di Funes recentemente omologata anche per gare internazionali. La FISI ha affidato al Amateursportverein Feldthurns l organizzazione di questa manifestazione. siccome anzidetta societa e considerata garante per un ottimo svolgimento della gara, e ha nei suoi ranghi parecchi atleti giovani e promettenti. La serie in oggetto e per molti giovani atleti il trampolino di lancio verso le squadre nazionali, anche perche i vincitori della serie possono partecipare nell inverno prossimo a una gara di coppa del mondo. Sotto la responsabilita del presidente della societa e del comitato organizzatore Helmuth Grunser, i lavori di preparazioni a questo evento sono a buon punto, e sono sicuro che viene fatto di tutto, affinche veranno create le condizioni per un ottima riuscita della gara. Mi auguro che alla manifestazione saranno presenti moltissimi spettatori, che vedranno i migliori atleti del momento. E anche un segno di riconoscimento verso l organizzatore, se molti spettatori seguiranno le gare. Greetings FIL Vice President luge Technic Alfred Jud Dear friends of the luge sports, I am really excited about being invited to the IC Cup Finals in Vilnöß in my function as vice president and delegate of the International Luge Association FIL at the same time. The finals of the Intercontinental Cup in luge at natural track take place at the new race track in St. Magdalena in the Villnöss valley and is held by the FISI via the famous and successful club ASV Feldthurns. The Intercontinental Cup is the most important series for many young athletes in order to get a fix place in the national team. The overall winners have a safe starting in one Weltcup race in the following season. Under the direction of the President Grunser Helmuth the preparations for this year s finals are in full swing and I am sure that ideal track-conditions and also race-conditions will be given. I am hoping for many visitors who will get the opportunity to be close to the action directly at the track. At the same time many visitors would also be a sign of appreciation towards the organizing club. Already now I want to thank all the volunteers and the organization team for their altruistic effort and wish everyone a fair race without accidents. Furthermore I wish the athletes, coaches and helpers a successful conclusion of the IC Cup series and a pleasant delay in Vilnöß in South Tyrol.

Grußworte des Präsidenten Amateursportverein Feldthurns Grunser Helmuth Im Namen unseres Sportvereins ist es mir eine Ehre, alle Athleten, die an diesem Rennen teilnehmen werden, sowie die Funktionäre, Betreuer/innen und Begleiter/innen und natürlich die hoffentlich zahlreichen Zuschauer zu begrüßen und willkommen zu heißen. Nach dem 6.Großen Preiß von Europa im Rollenrodeln, freut es mich ganz besonders, dass die überaus fleißige Sektion Rodeln unseres Sportvereins, nun auch im Winter mit der Austragung einer internationalen Rodelveranstaltung von der F.I.L. betraut worden ist. Da die Zusammenarbeit mit den Nachbarvereinen sehr gut funktioniert, und der A.S.V.-Feldthurns selber über keine geeignete Struktur verfügt, war es naheliegend, auf der schon durch nationale Rennen erprobten, und nun auch international homologierten Rodelbahn in St. Magdalena/ Villnöss dieses IC-Cup-Finale im Rennrodeln auf Naturbahn durchzuführen. Ich bin mir sicher, dass die Teilnehmer aus verschiedenen Nationen ihriges dazu beitragen, dass die Zuschauer spannende Wettkämpfe miterleben können. An dieser Stelle darf ich schon jetzt Allen die zum guten Gelingen der Veranstaltung beitragen werden, ganz herzlich Danke sagen, vor allem aber dem Sektionsleiter Konrad Kerschbaumer mit seinem Ausschuß und seinen zahlreichen Mitarbeitern für ihren Einsatz. Den Sportler/innen und Funktionären wünsche ich einen schönen und angenehmen Aufenthalt bei uns in Feldthurns und in Villnöss, besonders aber einen unfallfreien und fairen Wettkampf. A nome della nostra societa sportiva e del comitato organizzatore e per me un onore, dare a tutti gli atleti, che parteciperanno a questa competizione, come anche ai vari funzionari, accompagnatori e allenatori, e naturalmente anche ai, speriamo numerevoli spettatori, un cordiale benvenuto a questo IC-Cup. Dopo aver organizzato il 6.Gran Premio d Europa di slittino con rotelle, e per me un piacere, che alla molto diligente sezione slittino della nostra unione sportiva, e stata affidata l organizzazione di una gara a livello internazionale da parte della FIL, anche d inverno. Siccome la collaborazione con le associazioni sportive vicine funziona benissimo, e la nostra societa al momento non e in possesso di una struttura idonea, era evidente, che ci si rivolga ai vicini di Santa Maddalena di Funes, dove esiste una pista di slittino, che ha gia ospitato gare a livello nazionale, e da poco e omologata anche per gare internazionali. Sono sicuro che gli atleti delle diverse nazioni faranno di tutto affinche gli spettatori potranno assistere a delle avvincenti competizioni. A questo punto faccio gia adesso gli auguri di una buona riuscita della manifestazione, ringraziando tutti, che alla guida del caposezione slittino, Konrad Kerschbaumer, del suo direttivo e dei numerosi volontari sono da parecchio tempo al lavoro, per una buona riuscita dell evento. Ai sportivi e ai funzionari auguro un piacevole soggiorno da noi a Velturno e a Funes, sopratutto pero delle gare piene di fairplay e senza incidenti. Nella speranza di rivederci presto in circostanza di ulteriori gare di slittino nei prossimi anni. It makes ma glad, that after the organization of the 6 th European Grand Prix in luge on rolls, the greatly hardworking section luge of our sports club was entrusted with the holding of an International event by the F.I.L. this winter. Because of the good cooperation with neighbouring sports clubs but also because the A.S.V.- Feldthurns does not possess any convenient structures, it suggested itself to hold the finals if the IC Cup series at the track in St. Magdalena/Villnöss, which was already approved through various national races and is now also internationally homologated. I am sure the athletes from various nations will contribute to fascinating and exciting competitions, most of all for the visitors. At this point I already want to give thanks to all people, who will contribute to the event becoming a big success, above all to the head of the section luge of our sports club, Konrad Kerschbaumer and his committee but also to the numerous assistants for their effort.
