Seit 2003 gelten im Gebiet der EU einheitliche Normen für die Beschlags-Ausstattung von Fluchttüren. Verschlusssysteme (Schloss, Beschlag und Zubehör) dürfen nur als Einheit geprüft, gekennzeichnet und montiert werden. Die Verantwortung für die ordnungsgemäße Zusammenstellung und Montage obliegt dem Montagebetrieb. Die Original Schüco Verschlusssystem- Kombinationen entsprechen diesen Anforderungen. Wichtig für die Baupraxis: Sowohl Notausgänge als auch Paniktüren müssen bei der Bauplanung und Bauabnahme explizit Berücksichtigung finden und dürfen nur noch mit komplett ausgestatteten Verschlusssystemen eingebaut werden. In Deutschland wurden die DIN EN 179 und DIN EN 1125 nicht in der Landesbauordnung der einzelnen Bundesländer verankert.
