Upscaling - upscaling processes in all regions, but differs across domains - is not a universally shared goal of initiatives ( just happens ) - creates (internal) tensions, depends on resources, increases visibility Replicating - is present in all regions, different degrees (copy/paste vs. partial) - much more inwards replication than inner replication (methodology!) - transitioneurs and network initiatives (at different levels) with a key role Coupling - great variety of ways of coupling (practical/strategic, enduring/temporal, ) - rather within domains and within sectors than across, but exceptions! - network initiatives, transitioneurs (translation), tensions with core activities
Instrumentalising - is in place, but differs across regions (national context matters!) - Tension: dependence on external funding vs. autonomy of the TI (political) - Tendency to projectification - Two-Way-Game : LTI are instrumentatlised by the context Embedding - Not a universally shared goal (being different = important motivation) - system vs. novelty / compartmentatlisation vs. cross-cutting issues - stretch and transform vs. fit and conform (A. Smith) (e.g. radical carrot) - Embedding often with informal character (under radar) = fragile - Professionalisation, Legitimacy and Translation are crucial
