Dank der über 60-jährigen Erfahrung und einer sehr grossen Marktnähe, ist es dem Familienbetrieb immer wieder gelungen, Trends zu setzen. Man denke nur an die «Spaghetti»-Bespannung, die umfangreiche Farbkollektion oder die Fiberglas-Tischplatten, welche im Haus hergestellt werden. Aus Ideen werden auf dem CAD-System elektronische Baupläne erstellt, aus denen im eigenen Atelier erste Prototypen entstehen. 2. Informationen zu Schaffner-Fiberglastischen 2.1 Informationen zum Tisch Dieses Produkt wurde in der Schweiz auf modernen Maschinen mit hochwertigen Materialien hergestellt. Das Produkt hat viele Arbeitsschritte durchlaufen, wo Menschen die Maschinen bedienten oder mit ihrem handwerklichen Können am Produkt manuell gearbeitet haben. Das Produkt kann geringe Farbabweichungen aufweisen. Die Fiberglasplatte kann produktionsbedingt an Kanten und Unterseite kleine und kleinste Lunker (Lufteinschlüsse) aufweisen, die weder auf die Qualität noch auf den Gebrauch Einfluss haben. Damit wir Ihnen einwandfreie Ware garantieren können, werden die Tische, bevor sie unser Werk verlassen, genau auf Materialfehler, Kratzer und dergleichen geprüft. SCHULUNG 2.2 Information zur Oberfläche Materialbedingt muss die Tischplatte ca. ein Jahr aushärten, um die volle Kratzbeständigkeit zu erhalten. Daher Platte während dieser Zeit sorgfältig behandeln. 3. Häufig gestellte Fragen 3.1 Was ist Fiberglas? Die Schaffner Fiberglastische werden hergestellt in einer für den Tischbereich einzigartigen Produktionstechnik, dem Heisspressverfahren von Polyesterharzmatten mit 25% Glasfaseranteil (SMC). Durch diese Technik erreichen wir - im Gegensatz zum Handlaminieren stahlähnliche Eigenschaften. 3.2 Ist das Plastik? Nein. Fiberglas ist ein duroplastischer Kunststoff, der mit Wärme nicht mehr veränderbar ist. Als Plastik bezeichnet man thermoplastische Kunststoffe, die mit Wärme verformbar sind (z.b. Wassereimer). 3.3 Kann man den Tisch im Winter draussen lassen? Schaffner-Tische können auch im Winter problemlos draussen stehen. Sicher bleibt der Tisch im Garten länger schön, wenn Sie den Tisch abdecken. Benutzen Sie keine billigen Plastikabdeckungen. Diese können Weichmacher enthalten, die Flecken auf der Tischplatte hinterlassen. Hussen für Gartenmöbel finden Sie in fast jedem Baumarkt. 3.4 Wie reinige ich meinen Fiberglastisch am besten? Die Tischoberfläche ist mit einer autolackähnlichen Glanz- und Schutzschicht überzogen. Tisch in regelmässigen Abständen mit einem handelsüblichen Abwaschmittel und einem weichen Schwamm gründlich reinigen. Wichtig: Keine scheuernden oder kratzenden Reinigungs- und Hilfsmittel verwenden! 66

3.5 Auf meinem Tisch sind wegen einer Unachtsamkeit Kratzer auf der Platte entstanden. Wie bringe ich diese Kratzer wieder raus? Kleine Kratzer auf der Fiberglasplatte sind zwar optisch sichtbar, es entstehen aber keine weiteren Schäden an der Tischplatte (keine Rostbildung oder ähnliches). Kleine Kratzer lassen sich meistens mit Reinigungsmittel und ein wenig Geduld wieder entfernen (siehe auch «Wie reinige ich meinen Fiberglastisch am besten?»). SCHULUNG 3.6 Wie reinige ich Chromstahlfüsse? Es ist normal, dass sich auf dem Stahl Flugrost von umliegenden Baustellen oder Bahngleisen absetzt. Dieser bildet mit der Zeit einen leichten Rost, der sich aber nur auf der Oberfläche ansetzt. Bei regelmässiger Reinigung empfehlen wir bei Rost und Verschmutzungen eine Säuberung mit einem nassen Scotch-Schwamm. Bei stärkeren Verschmutzungen reicht ein Reinigungsmittel, welches eine leichte Scheuerfunktion hat (Achtung: ausschliesslich auf Chromstahlfüssen anwenden), wie zum Beispiel Cif oder Sipuro-Chromstahlreiniger. 3.7 Kann der Tisch rosten? Die Fiberglasplatte kann nicht rosten. Das Untergestell enthält Metall und alles was Metall ist kann früher oder später rosten. Schaffner-Tische sind sandgestrahlt und mit reinem Polyesterpulver beschichtet. Je nach Handhabung und Pflege, kann dort wo die Beschichtung beschädigt ist, Rost entstehen. 3.8 Auf meinem Tisch-Gestell bilden sich kleine Rostwasser-Flecken. Ist das normal? Das Rostwasser entsteht durch Kondensation der sich im Innern der Möbeln befindlichen Luft. Speziell bei hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit und Temperaturschwankungen, tritt das Auslaufen vermehrt auf. Da die Rohre aus technischen Gründen innen nicht beschichtet werden können, ist die Oxydation des Eisens nicht vermeidbar. Ja, alle Schaffner-Gartenmöbel werden in der Schweiz hergestellt. 3.11 Was für Garantieansprüche habe ich? 2. Informations sur les tables Schaffner en fibre de verre 2.1 Informations sur la table Ce produit a été fabriqué en Suisse sur des machines hautement modernes avec des matériaux de haute qualité. Le produit a parcouru plusieurs étapes de travail, des hommes ont manœuvré les machines, leur habileté et leur compétence ont permis une fabrication manuelle du produit. Celui-ci peut présenter de légers écarts de couleurs. Pour des raisons de technique de production, le plateau en fibre de verre peut présenter de petites, voire de minuscules alvéoles (bulles d air) sur les bords et sur la surface inférieure, ceux-ci n influencent aucunement la qualité ou l utilisation. Pour que nous puissions garantir une marchandise irréprochable, les tables, avant de quitter nos ateliers, sont contrôlées pour écarter tout risque de malformation, de griffe ou autres défauts. FORMATION 2.2 Informations sur la surface Compte tenu des matériaux utilisés, le plateau des tables doit durcir pendant près d un an, pour assurer une résistance absolue aux rayures. Il est donc indispensable de manier le plateau soigneusement pendant cette période. 3. Questions les plus fréquentes 3.1 Qu est-ce que la fibre de verre? Les tables en fibre de verre Schaffner sont fabriquées selon une technique de production exclusivement réservée à la fabrication des tables, le procédé de pressage à chaud de tissus en résine polyester avec 25% de fibre de verre (SMc). Cette technique nous permet d obtenir à l encontre des stratifications manuelles des propriétés similaires à celles de l acier. 3.2 Est-ce du plastique? Non. La fibre de verre est un synthétique duroplastique non modifiable à la chaleur. Les plastiques sont des matières synthétiques thermoplastiques déformables par la chaleur (seaux à eau, p.ex.). 3.3 La table peut-elle rester dehors pendant l hiver? Les tables Schaffner peuvent tout à fait rester dehors pendant l hiver. Leur beauté persiste plus longtemps si vous les recouvrez, bien entendu. N utilisez pas de protections en plastique à bon marché. Elles peuvent contenir des adoucissants qui laissent des traces sur le plateau de la table. Vous trouverez des housses pour meubles de jardin dans presque tous les centres de jardinage ou de bricolage. 3.4 Comment nettoyer ma table en fibre de verre? Sa surface est recouverte d une couche de brillant et de protection comme celles qu utilise l industrie automobile. Nettoyer régulièrement la table avec un produit d usage dans le commerce et une éponge souple. Important : ne jamais utiliser de produits ou de dispositifs abrasifs ou rugueux! 71

3.5 Le plateau de ma table a été griffé par inadvertance. Comment effacer ces griffes? Les petites éraflures sur le plateau en fibre de verre sont certes visibles, mais ne provoquent aucun autre dommage (formation de rouille ou autre). Vous pouvez supprimer les petites éraflures avec un produit nettoyant et un peu de patience (voir également «comment nettoyer ma table en fibre de verre?»). FORMATION 3.6 Comment nettoyer les pieds en acier chromé? Il est normal qu une mince couche de rouille provenant de chantiers ou du passage de chemins de fer se dépose sur l acier. Progressivement, celle-ci provoque une légère rouille, mais elle reste superficielle. Si vous procédez à des nettoyages réguliers, nous recommandons, en cas de rouille et de salissure, de nettoyer avec une éponge Scotch mouillée. En cas de forte salissure, un produit de nettoyage légèrement abrasif suffit (Attention: à n utiliser que sur les pieds en acier chromé), comme le cif ou le nettoyant Sipuro pour acier chromé, par exemple. 3.7 La table peut-elle rouiller? Le plateau en fibre de verre ne peut pas rouiller. Le piétement contient du métal, et tous les métaux peuvent finir par rouiller, à la longue. Les tables Schaffner sont sablées et revêtues par pure poudre de polyester. Selon le maniement et l entretien, de la rouille peut apparaître là où le recouvrement est endommagé. 3.8 De petites taches d eau rouillée se sont formées sur le piétement de la table. Est-ce normal? L eau rouillée est due à la condensation de l air accumulé à l intérieur des meubles. Les fuites sont notamment plus fréquentes en cas de forte humidité de l air et de fluctuations de températures. L intérieur des tubes ne pouvant être enduit pour des raisons techniques, l oxydation du métal ne peut être évitée. Le meuble lui-même ne subit aucun dommage suite à ce processus 3.9 La table devient-elle très chaude au soleil? Les tables en fibre de verre chauffent elles aussi sous l influence des rayons directs du soleil, ceci diffère selon les couleurs, mais leur chaleur n est jamais aussi élevée que celle des tables en métal. 3.10 La table est-elle vraiment fabriquée en Suisse? Oui, tous les meubles de jardin Schaffner sont fabriqués en Suisse. 3.11 Quels sont mes droits à la garantie? Sur nos meubles de jardin, nous accordons 5 ans de garantie contre la corrosion et de garantie de fonctionnement. 3.12 Comment faire valoir mes droits à la garantie? Au cas où votre table vous serait livrée dans un état endommagé ou serait inutilisable, contactez le commerçant dans un délai d une semaine. Attention : la garantie ne vaut pas pour les dommages dus à un transport, une livraison ou un montage/démontage 72

2. Information about Schaffner fibreglass tables 2.1 Information about the table This product was made in Switzerland using high quality materials and the latest machinery. The products have undergone numerous stages of work involving human-operated machinery or manual craftsmanship. The product may include small colour deviations. The fibreglass table top may include small cavities (air pockets) on the edges and underside these do not affect the quality or use of the table in any way. The tables are checked thoroughly for material errors, scratches and the like before leaving the plant so that we can guarantee you impeccable products. TRAINING 2.2 Information about the surface The table top takes approx. one year to harden fully and become completely scratchproof. The table top should therefore be handled very carefully during this time. 3. Frequently asked questions 3.1 What is fibreglass? The Schaffner fibreglass tables are produced using a unique manufacturing process for tables the hot-press moulding of a polyester sheet moulding compound with a 25% glass fibre content (SMC). This technique allows us to achieve steel-like properties, in contrast to manual laminating. 3.2 Is it plastic? No. Fibreglass is a thermoset synthetic material which does not become malleable when heated. Plastics are thermoplastic synthetic materials which do become malleable when heated (e.g. bucket). 3.3 Can the table be left outside in winter? Schaffner tables can be left outside in winter with no problem. However the table will remain nicer for longer in the garden if you cover it over. Do not use a cheap plastic cover. These can contain softening agents which leave marks behind on the table top. Covers for garden furniture can be found in most DIY stores. 3.4 How should I clean my fibreglass table? The surface of the table is coated with a shine and protective layer like that used for car varnish. Wash the table at regular intervals with a standard detergent and a soft sponge. Important: do not use any abrasive or scratching detergents or cloths! 76

3.5 My table top has got scratched by accident. How can I get rid of these scratches again? Small scratches may be visible on the fibreglass surface but this will not have caused any further damage to the table top (no rust formation etc.). Small scratches can generally be removed using a cleaning agent and a little patience (see «How should I clean my fibreglass table?»). TRAINING 3.6 How should I clean the chrome steel legs? It is normal for a film of rust to form on the steel from surrounding building sites or railway tracks. Over time, this forms a light rust on the surface. We recommend that the steel is cleaned regularly using a damp sponge to remove rust and dirt. In the event of heavier soiling, use a cleaning agent with a slightly abrasive function (NB: use only on the chrome steel legs) such as Cif or Sipuro chrome steel cleaner. 3.7 Can the table rust? The fibreglass table top cannot rust. However the frame contains metal and anything metal can rust, sooner or later. Schaffner tables are sandblasted and coated with pure polyester powder.
