Themenjahr 2006: FIFA Fussball-Weltmeisterschaft Paragraph 1 Die Deutsch Zentrale für Tourismus (DZT) iniierte bereits im Jahr 2003 zahlreiche Aktivitäten in Vorbereitung auf die FIFA Fussball- Weltmeisterschaft 2006. Das Ziel der DZT war, Deutschland in seiner Rolle als Gastgeber für die WM 1 als herzliches Gastland darzustellen. Paragraph 2 Anfang des Jahres 2004 vereinbarte die DZT mit dem Organisationskomitee für die WM einen Aktionsplan, auf dessen Basis das Thema frühzeitig in alle weltweiten Vertriebs- und Kommunikationsmaßnahmen der DZT integriert wurde. Dazu zählten die marktspezifischen Websites der Deutschland-Werber ebenso wie Reisemessen, Workshops, Studienreisen oder die Kontaktpflege zu Reiseveranstaltern. Schon zwei Jahre vor dem Sport-Event erreichte die DZT Endverbraucher, Reiseindustrie und Medienvertreter und weckte Interesse an die verschiedenen Regionen in Deutschland. Paragraph 3 Die DZT entwickelte auf der DZT-Website den Bereich FIFA WM Deutschland 2006. Dieser Internet-Webpage bot touristische Informationen zu den zwölf FIFA-WM Städten, und allgemeine Tipps zum Reiseland Deutschland und zum kulturellen Programm. Es gab auf der Website auch eine Sammlung buchbarer Reiseangebote der WM-Spielorte und -regionen. Man konnte online die Informationen auf English und auf Deutsch lesen. Paragraph 4 Ein weiteres zentrales Werbemittel war die Imagebroschüre. Diese Broschüre war seit 2004 im Vertrieb und hieβ Für alle eine runde Sache - Städte und Regionen der FIFA Fussball-Weltmeisterschaft 2006. Sie präsentierte auf 44 Seiten allgemeine Deutschland-Infos, Wissenswertes zu den WM-Stadien, zu touristischen Attraktionen und Kultur-Highlights der Spielorte und regionen sowie konkrete Pauschalangebote. Die Broschüre hatte eine Gesamtauflage von 270.000 Exemplaren auf Deutsch, Englisch, Niederländisch, Französisch, Italienisch, Spanisch, Portugiesisch, Dänisch, Schwedisch und Japanisch. So wurden Fußball- Fans aus vielen Ländern zu Reisen nach Deutschland animiiert. Paragraph 5 Seit 2005 präsentierte die DZT zudem den WM-Corner auf Messen (wie zum Beispiel der CFT 2 -Messe in Freiburg). Diese Präsentation hatte den Form eines Themen-Displays von Fußball-Großereignissen in Deutschland. Ebenfalls Teil der internationalen Marketingkampagne zum Thema Fußballland Deutschland und FIFA WM 2006 war eine Bilder-CD.
