Instruction 2: latest February Bei einer DG-1000M versagte die Befestigungsschraube der Einspritzventile des Notsystems. Durch den Kraftstoffdruck und die Motorvibrationen wanderten die Ventile nach oben und das Kraftstoffsystem wurde undicht. Das kann zum Ausfall des Motors und ev. auch zu einem Brand im Triebwerksraum führen. 1. Die Fa. Solo will eine zusätzliche Sicherung in Form einer Klammer entwickeln. Bis diese Sicherung zur Verfügung steht, muss eine provisorische Sicherung durch ein Ty-rap (Kabelbinder) vorgenommen werden. 2. Die Fa Solo hat am die TM herausgegeben, nach welcher die endgültige Sicherung einzubauen ist. In one DG-1000M the mounting bolt of the injection valves of the emergency system failed. Due to the fuel pressure and the engine vibrations the valves moved upwards and the fuel system started leaking. This may lead to complete loss of engine power and there is an increased risk of fire in the engine compartment. 1. The Solo company will develop a securing clamp for additional safety. Until this device will be available a provisional securing with a Ty-rap (cable tie) must be installed. 2. The Solo company issued TN on November which describes the final securing device. 1. These engines are known to be installed on, but not limited to, Binder Motorenbau, DG-Flugzeugbau and Schempp-Hirth powered sailplanes. An occurrence was reported involving a failure of the connecting stud for the two fuel injector mounts of the engine redundancy system. This condition, if not corrected, could lead to an uncommanded in-flight engine shut-down and engine fire, possibly resulting in loss of control of the aeroplane. To address this unsafe condition, Solo Kleinmotoren GmbH issued SB/TM to provide instructions for reinforcement and securing of the injector mounts. For the reason described above, this AD requires modification of the engine redundancy system. Solo Kleinmotoren GmbH SB/TM (currently at issue 2, dated 03 December 2012) will be revised to incorporate the modification required by SB/TM for future Solo i engines. In order to improve the attachment of the fuel lines the mounts which hold the injectors were improved, and a securing plate was added in order to secure the connection beween the two mounts. Benzinleitungen durch lösen der Hohlschrauben (im Bild Nr. 7) abbauen. Benzinleitungen unten von den Nippeln (im Bild Nr. 2) abziehen. Schrauben an den Verbindungsprofilen (im Bild Nr. 15 und 16) lösen und Einheit abnehmen. Mutter (im Bild Nr. 13) lösen und Einheit auseinanderbauen. Ventile in die neue Einheit, bestehend aus den Haltern, dem Sicherungsblech und den Schrauben einbauen und an den Verbindungsprofilen festschrauben (Loctite 243 an den im Bild gekennzeichneten Stellen verwenden). Benzinleitungen wieder befestigen (Drehmoment 20Nm). Probelauf durchführen. Beachten Sie die neue Ersatzteilliste Ausgabe 3 vom 24.November Remove fuel lines by loosening of the banjo bolts (in picture No. 7). Remove the fuel lines at the bottom of the unit from the nipples (No. 2). Loosen bolts at the connection profiles (No. 15 and No. 16) and remove the unit with the injectors. Loosen the nut (No. 13) and dismantle the unit. Mount the existing injectors into the new unit consisting of the new mounts, the securing plate and the bolts and mount it to the connecting profiles Do not forget to apply Loctite 243 on the indicated points (see exploded view). Attach the fuel lines again (Torque 20 Nm). Do a test run. Pay attention to the new spare parts list issue 3, dated November 24 th, Pos. Nr Pos. SOLO Vertriebs- und Entwicklungs- GmbH (aircraft@solo-germany.com) bestellt werden. Nach erfolgter Montage ist ein Prüflauf durchzuführen. Anweisungen zum Einbau, den elektrischen Anschlüssen sowie zur Kraftstoffversorgung können dem Handbuch entnommen werden. Die Massnahmen sind von einem genehmigten Instandhaltungsbetrieb durchzuführen und von einem lizensierten Prüfer freizugeben. The necessary parts can be ordered as a set with the number (set redundancy system) from SOLO Vertriebs- und Entwicklungs- Gmbh (aircraft@sologermany.com). After the assembly a test run has to be made. Instructions for mounting the engine, wiring and fuel supply can be found in the engine manual.
