HISTORY
The Era Or what was it actually like in those days? Towards the middle of the fifties, conditions regenerated again in America and Europe. This state also had an effect on the company policy at Jaguar. In 1957 the company launched the XK 150, which became the third and final stage of the renowned XK series. Jaguar was building the vehicle until 1961. When the E-series hit the market, the XK series had already been successfully on the market for over 14 years. Compared to the XK 140, only slight but significant changes were made in the transition to the XK 150 such as, for instance, a one-piece windshield, crank windows in the doors, horizontal fenders, wider body, larger grille and disc brakes on all four wheels. Jaguar campaigned for the model series with the effective advertising slogan: The fastest production sports car in the world. The slogan was designed to refer to the 5 Le Mans victories of the XK series in the period from 1951 to 1957! Only 2265 units of the XK 150 OTS Roadster were built in this period. The Condition Or its true, current condition: original, lifted or retreaded? The XK 150 was first licensed in the US, where it was bought by its current owner, who brought it to Germany in 1990. The vehicle was then refurbished at the highest level in a Jaguar specialist workshop from ground up. It presents itself since then in a very elegant fashion in the color combination outside red and an interior made of light leather and a sand-colored hood. The vehicle is visually and technically in a very good condition. Engine and transmission with matching numbers. The Use Or what is it like to drive? The XK-150 has similar sports car genes and characteristics as a Grand Tourismo model. It can be moved athletically and at the same time has a comfortable suspension and comfortable seats that seduce with plenty of space to enjoy relaxed tours. The vehicle invites you to drive comfortably on overland routes on a nice and sunny day. Even today, it is possible to still switch gears quickly and to enjoy its athletic qualities. However, the performance of the long-stroke engine should no longer be permanently called up to ensure a long service life. In sports competitions, the XK series has won the most important competitions in its time. Between 1951 and 1957, the vehicle successfully won the 24 Hours of Le Mans 5 times. With respect to its condition and appearance, it is also suitable to attractively enrich a collection. With appropriate treatment and care, it certainly comprises a value appreciation potential!
