Some people say they can t live without a mobile any more. Four in ten now have their own mobile phone. More than 24 million phones are in use in Britain at the moment. This means there is more than one mobile phone for every household in Britain. 2. The so-called pre-pay service has attracted more and more people. They use credit vouchers now; fewer people want those terrible monthly bills which were often a shock to the families. Experts say even more mobile phones will be sold in 2000 when handsets are introduced which will allow access to the internet at speed as high as PC modems.
